    Re: Blocks are ridiculous!

If blocks are going to be this powerful, there need to counter moves.

I've been using the floater pretty effectively to get my shot over the bigs, now it seems to be nerfed after patch 3.

I miss open floaters with no one around me, even with the gold tear dropper badge.

There's literally no way for guards to get crafty buckets in the paint now.

i think timing could be an issue. i used to miss wide open floaters (wanted to do a eurostep but ended up a floater Lol) prepatch.

some ways to counter it include taking another one dribble closer to basket and dunk it. i usually do that when i saw chasedown coming. as mentioned in the post, do the right or left hand layup to draw and1.

        Re: Blocks are ridiculous!

As the post above me, there are plenty of counters for those chasedown blocks. Left or right hand layups, changing your path to the basket, stopping under the basket and the defender usually runs right past or jumps into you for a foul, two handed dunks, euro step to throw off the timing, etc. If you go for the basic layup/dunk, 2k will give you an animation that puts the ball on a platter for the defender.

Or you could do my special move (Have to be crafty since I am 6") and run to the basket as usual while the defender is chasing and just wait till they jump and they'll go right past you for a easy layup. Been doing this since 2K11 w/ a 98% success rate it seems. Just doesn't work if the defender goes for the strip or a crazy animation comes into play after he jumps.

I usually wait until the last minute before I attempt my layup. I don't take off from far away because it will get PINNED.

Or since last year I've been using Westbrook layup. It's straight to the point and off the backboard. So it won't get pinned and if it does, it's most likely goaltending.

Only seen it blocked twice from behind and it was super timed. Wish you could decide exactly when you want to do that sig layup. You can most of the time by pushing the RS to the left or right but occasionally they'll do a random slow layup that gets beat.

I also took off all those lengthy tomahawk dunks and flashy dunks. Those get blocked a lot

Funny you guys mention stopping under the basket and waiting the defender out. I started doing it last year in the Park with much success (because everybody is so thirsty), but again, that seems to be nerfed again this year too.

Defenders recovery time is too fast and they get a 2nd jump almost immediately. It's really hard to capitalize when a defender bites this year it seems like.

I'm going to try laying up with specific hands and maybe the Russy layup package.

Maybe I should have said he basically put the ball behind his back and I blocked it because he was trying to power slam it. If I time it right and in the right position, I should be able to block it. Was very realistic imo.

And in my case majority of the time they do successfully dunk it. The only time I usually get blocks is off someone trying to lay the ball up.
I can assure u, at 6ft, it's not that easy to blocks someone's dunk that's about 7ft. But whatever. If u think u can time it and do so whatever.

Who said it was that easy? What are you reading? I am saying I was behind him, jumped early before he even jumped and once he went I was already up in the air. It's called timing. And also again he brought the ball behind his head. I guess I shouldn't be able to jump?

Nate Robinson is 5'9" and blocked Yao Ming. Which was way more difficult than what I did which was jump early and blocked it as he went up. But hey, whatever like you said.

Do u know the difference between an abnormality and something that's considered the norm?

Once u figured out the answer, then ask yourself does guards blocking dunks in this game a normal thing or abnormal?
(Abnormalities isnt being disputed here, we all know things can happen. That's not the point)

And after u figure those two things out, maybe u will finally get it.

If ur block on the center was something we very seldom see in nba2k16, I absolutely have zero problem with it. The issue is those kind's of plays happen way to often.

Bro, do you know how to read? Did I say it was the norm?

My post was to someone telling them that the patch didn't make it impossible to block a shot as a guard? I was never talking to you when I was stating that.

I also said that majority of the time when I try to block a big they successfully lay up or dunk the ball. I just said I timed it right and it was very realistic. Just because I am 6' doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to block it if I timed it perfectly and etc. So where did I say it was the norm? I'll wait.....

The bottom line is I don't see a lot of small players blocking big men. I only get them on bigs coming from the weak side and timing it good. Still doesn't happen often. But maybe I have a different 2K[emoji23]

U don't have to say it's the norm. I have the same copy u have. I already know those types of things happen in this game at a common rate. It's in the way they coded this year's game. Maybe not as bad pre patch but it's still in the game nevertheless.

I was asking MadMan if he(or anyone else that over exaggerates for no reason)if they had video proof of not just this but any weird **** that happens in the game.
