Re: Are "balanced" scoring My Players now ineffective?

I'm an inside 6'3 pg and have a hard time driving the paint as well. Had a guard disrupt my posterizer animation and it really made me mad. I get a center with all the badges, but a guard should be easy pickings. The problem is the speed in which the animation triggers. Going for a dunk should not give people the amount of time to jump if i beat them. They should have to jump before i do and meet me at the appex of my dunk as it was in past years. Also, it seems the game picks the slowest most extravagant dunk especially if you have park packages (which i don't). Even if you don't have anything equipped with a **** back it will still act like you do. The absolute most frustrating thing is getting put into a layup animation when you were trying to go hard in the paint. And last but not least, the point in which you can begin your gather is much closer to the hoop than it was before. I've not once done the Vince Carter and jump OVER someone. I wish i could leap over little guards on alley oops especially. I hate having a clear path then them barely grazing my body so i can't jump.

@bo.jangles344 Hmm, there are some games I live inside as a Balanced SG. Reconsidering some of the dunk packages I had really helped me...

Btw, these are from last night. This is how "ineffective" we Balanced people are in Pro-Am:

I mean, I don't seem to miss any corner 3s (with Corner Spec), I make more than I miss from down town (Limitless Range). When the offense stagnates, I can go inside fearlessly for dunks/lay ups or draw fouls. And I can make a lot of midrange pull up jumpers already, even without the Shot Creator badge. What more can I ask for?

I think balanced players especially guards are most effective they can step out for the mid or the 3 and if all else fails their inside scoring is enough to finish strong. With outside its most effective right now but against teams that will play tight on the perimeter they have no other option if they can't get off a dunk they can't finish inside consistently enough. By the way I do have a balanced PF and PG.

You just have to know how to use your player . Balanced is perfect for how I play.

There should be a distinct difference between an 80 dunk and a 90 dunk. And right now, there isn't. I feel if anyone should be catching bodies constantly it should be me. Maybe not every time down like in years past, but until i jump OVER someone again I'm still saying athleticism took a huge knock this year.

No one likes being dunked on, but that has always been my favorite way to play.

How do you use your controller when attempting to initiate a poster?

I do need to get better with using my left or my right hand. That aspect is a little intriguing to see which angles i can improve on but i usually use up on the stick to get a safe 2 hand slam which is probably why I'm getting pretty hit or miss animations. We all have a tendency to get complacent. However, I've found down on the stick to be the absolute worst in trying to poster people. It's always the 360 that's too slow or the park dunk that gets blocked when the ball is GOING THROUGH MY LEGS. If they have "flashy" dunk i wish it was the GO UP STRONG ON SOMEONE but it's not. I'll try to remember to go with the left and right but in my experience that's where it puts me in more GET BLOCKED GOING FOR A SLOW LAYUP LOLOLOLOL animation.

As a tip, I have had most success aiming the right stick diagonally towards the rim.

In reality, *height will also influence your success chance but the right stick tip above has triggered the poster attempts almost at will for me.

You may need to scale back some of your *expectations simply because of how stout rim protecting is in 16 but godspeed to you on the journey.

Let's see what the patch introduces for dunk ability. I am in favor of seeing dunk ability raised in My Career for those with balanced and inside scoring styles.

Re: Are "balanced" scoring My Players now ineffective?

So Patch 3 is here. Are we back to balanced players being rendered slightly more ineffective again? Short, outside guards seem to be winning yet again.

Contested 3's were falling in MyPark and Pro-Am all weekend. Midrange is back to being inconsistent in favor of long range which seemingly received another unnecessary boost. So this is what I experienced in my play throughs this weekend.

MyPark: My squad went on a solid 27 game win streak in Sunset on Saturday. Highest ever between the three of us. Even though we have great chemistry, my 3 pointers were falling like there was no tomorrow. Albeit, I took wide open or barely contested shots. I believe the patch got this mode right. I couldn't hit wild or contested shots (good!) but I could hit wide open shots at a great percentage.

Pro-Am: Now this is where things began to fall apart. Under the same shooting conditions along with the same jumper, shooting was extremely nerfed for balanced guys. Switching jumpers slightly alleviated the poor shooting but jumpers were not falling, contested or open. Outside shooters were raining contested threes multiple times a game (Release #22 was the usual culprit). It was nowhere near Patch 4 levels, but it was a significant bump. Wide open mid range shots missed frequently along with wide open 3s. I was consistently having 20-30 point Pro-Am games in the weeks before Patch 3.

Overall, I don't hate the patch. I'd give it an 9/10. I actually appreciated everything 2K for the most part. Shooting tweaks can be adjusted again in the near future. Most of us will find away to be more affective with our balanced players if I'm not alone in this rant.

                    Any other experiences?

Lol, I just saw that you replied to me and also that Rockie Fresh liked it, hahaha. I thought at least you had a little bit of intellect in here, Rockie. I am probably one of the best none exploiting players on the European server, but I'm done talking to this forum now. All you people can is insult one another and try to get appreciation without giving any. I tried to make this game better with creating awareness on this forum with my insights and constructive criticism for like a year now. I also hoped that maybe someone from 2K is listening here, too. But this forum is so full of egoistic idiots with different opinions, no one even recognizes my posts in here anyway, lol. Bye to the nice ones and fucc all y'all to the rest!

                        I'm loving my Balanced SG

One thing about Pro Am: it's predominately 3's and Paint scores. 75% Paint, 20% 3's and 5% are Middies

As a Balanced SG among Outside Scorers... I seem to be the most consistent 3pt Shooter and biggest 3pt threat.. I find this cool because I was very poor with one jumper but am very hot with another jumper... boosting my jump shot discipline has improved my chances
