How about a limit of say 12 gold badges and say 10 silver rest limited to bronze

Great idea in theory but from a guy who plays only park and rec, guys are just gonna have whatever badges that boosts your 3 and steal. Possibly lockdown defense. It would be unrealistic to say a 3 point shooter can't be a lockdown guy, but for balance they should make it so you pick 2 offensive and 2 defensive or something.

Maybe even 1 and 1. Or 3 total, but whatever you have, ppl are gonna find the most effective combo/loadout and you'll still have guys with Aldridge on quick running with a shooting badge, a steal badge and whatever else the meta is lol...

Or maybe if they made it so you needed a certain level to unlock badges like defender 18 for pick pocket etc but all in all it's the shooting in this game that causes major problems. For example mid range jumpers are still 98% more effective than a layup. Guys take jumpers on fast breaks lol.

They REALLY need to separate park from my career now tho. Clearly it's pretty silly to have my NBA guy go play park games. On top of that they need Park Badges so guys can't just go in my career on rookie casual and get every badge then go play park. If they had park badges it would take numerous games and you would actually have to perform well in Park. Like for example Alpha Dog requires you to have the highest offensive rating and if you drop 1 point below you switch to Beta. That's how it is now.

What they can do is extend that to park, so say you're a shooter and in order to maintain limitless in the park you would need to stay above 30% from 3. If it dips below 30%...29, 29.7 or whatever, it should go away until you can maintain that percentage. For steals if your steal success isn't above an A you shouldn't have pick pocket. That way guys won't spam steals. If you get scored on a lot you won't be able to earn lockdown defender etc.

That's probably the best idea I can come up with to provide balance but I doubt 2K does that.

I would love a separation of park proam from mycareer. I would never play mycareer if u could earn badges and attributes playing park and proam.

Like the idea of lose all restrictions for my career because who wants to be goon for 6th man of the year when you could go for MVP?

Have all the badges avalible to unlock aswell , in the long run it added to my career, sure has made me play it a lot longer

Then with my park/pro am, have a load out screen like said where you can pick 1 gold badge, 2 silver and 3 bronze from the badges you have unlocked already in my career?

Most people just are grinding for badges playing on rookie and etc. Let someone earn Posterizer because he actually does that online.

EDIT: Only downside though is you'll have people grinding in online games.

So you might be hooping w/ a random and he keep trying to take contested shots to get deadeye or keep attacking the paint trying to get posterizer.

Also people will be playing probably against friends to make it easier to get badges. Maybe the way they have it is the best way.

They do but I believe it will be worst if that's the only way people got badges.

People that usually do, most of them just aren't good at the game. But if it was only a way to get badges online, you'll see people that typically don't drive to the rim all the time doing it for Posterizer and etc.

What if you tie badges to your player type ie outside is the only one that can get gold corner,gold long range,inside is the only type that gets posterize gold acrobat add a defensive specialist that is the only gold lockdown 10 gold 12 silver as previously stated

We have a thread "Community Playstyles" that someone began last month that includes better balanced ratings, playstyles, and badges. Check it out. I am focusing on SF position now and so far came up with 6 balanced playstyles.

Maybe they need to make it so for earning badges the difficulty has to be at least All-star.

How would you guys feel if you can earn progress towards badges in Park and Pro Am if they won't separate MyCareer and Park?

I think the caps kinda eliminate certain badges this year so there's no need in putting a limit on them. A Center having deep range/corner specialist is no good since Centers can't really shoot this year just like a shorter PG having posterizer. All 2k has to do is tweak the caps a little for next year.

I think 2k is on the right path and i kinda like being able to play a nba game or pro am or goto the park. I think they need to figure out how to keep it that way and balance not seperate the modes
