Have yet to play the game post patch just about to but first I figured I would try to face scan again. Last year I would get 3000-4000 reference points most of the time with like 6500 being the most. This year I have been getting like 12000-15000 but it still looks nothing like me lol. After the patch things fell even worse. Just had a scan that said something went wrong and had 2 scans of like 5000-6000 points. Just did one now that got around 10000. Again it looks nothing like me.

Nice!! I play with Steph Curry and you guys added so many beautiful step backs for him, but I could count on one hand how many actually went in. Lol



Could you explain the reason why the success rate was so low pre-patch?



I do not have the patch yet (xbox one), but so excited to get it!

It was just not implemented in an ideal way. Shot success penalties pre-patch relied heavily on shot type. Step back jumpers were lumped into the same shot type category as dribble pull-ups. Dribble pull-ups had to be nerfed severely because people were zig zag cheezing from deep. The side effect of that fix was all pull-ups and step back jumpers becoming pretty useless... even if they were being performed in realistic circumstances.

With the patch, we now handle moving jumpers completely differently. Now we rely on the player's actual movement before the shot to dictate whether or not it's a legit shot off the dribble or if the player is excessively over dribbling prior to shooting.

Beluba/OG...do you guys know if the ability to rotate the player in the edit sig shot screen will be fixed? It's so hard to edit shots this year because of this. It's never been this way. Thanks.

I have to disagree with you on bail out fouls being some kind of exclusive talent only for elite players. Bail out fouls (in real basketball) is more of a function of how dumb your defender is and how cagey of an offensive player you are.

Every team has a player/players who is adapt at getting defenders off balance and getting a "bail out" foul

I'll admit I was wrong about not wanting to tweak some of the OBD aspects....I just didn't want the defense to take too big of a hit but it has completely opened up the game....

The quality of the shots I get, be drive and kick game, rotations have all made be game feel fantastic...

Yeah, I felt the same way, but have to say I like what they did, as it plays more like real life than before with players spacing and just open things up much more as a whole. Defense is actually improved as well, because now you see more help D and quicker rotations on D. I have seen a few times where a big has came out of nowhere like IRL to swat the ball into the stands. Had worried when they nerfed non shot blockers that they would screw shot blocking up as that's typically how things end up when they do that kind of stuff, but they actually got it right.


Just wish they would fix zone D so teams would actually switch to it once in a while, and now the AI team isn't getting their 2nd half timeout added back, which really sucks, since the AI tends to not be all that wise in calling TO to begin with.


Overall though the gameplay is by far better than any basketball game ever made. Id even say gameplay is the best of any sports game ever made, and that's saying something when you can beat out MLBTS in my eyes, but they did it this year.

No lie I just played the Cavs and Bucks NBA Today matchup and they played zone for a couple possessions.

Really, I believe you, not sure why I havent seen any zone D. I even play with call plays on auto an I have never seen in 38 games played my team or the AI ever switch up to zone. I also have it so it tell me the plays, just to make sure.


Have you noticed the AI not being given a timeout back after halftime? Since the patch they haven't given that TO back, but I get mine, before the patch it worked right.


Thanks for sharing, maybe something is wrong with my disc, as Im 99.9% sure there hasn't been any switching to zone in any of my games.

Like I said before, and I mean no disrespect, 2K needs to hire someone who is passionate about stuff like this.

Lol ... in some way, i want to agree with this cos MJ looks awful for 2 straights years. on the other hand, LBJ, KD and Curry look damn realistic.

Patch is nice but there is still no option to set the accessory color in MyCareer. For example if I play for the Cavs and select the blue jersey, the right accessory color is yellow and all my teammates are wearing it but I'm wearing blue accessories. There is no way for me to look the same as my teammates. The accessory color is just wrong.
