I only use basic dribble moves and the subtle left stick jabs to throw the CPU off and create seperation so I can pull up for easy uncontested shots. Rarely, do I look for complete blow by opportunities in the half court, even with elite ball handlers unless the CPU is cheating heavily to one side and his help defense is too far stretched to collapse. Ball movement and hitting your guys circling around those high strong side perimeter screens is still the best way to score in this game, even post patch.

Re: Anyone NOT struggling with dribble moves?
Your condescending tone is amazing.
Did you watch the videos? Did i say anything but except one move? I didn't mention behind the backs or in and outs? No i said the killer cross.
THEN i proved 2k can just take over my controller whenever.
I'm not talking about "advanced"moves or claim anything about how superior i am at anything. In fact i tried to throw a disclaimer saying I'm not spamming or even the best player!
I brought up the killer cross and tried to throw you a bone with how easy it is to NOT EVEN BE USING THE RIGHT STICK for them to take over my controller.

You see my post count. I know how it goes around here. But there WASN'T a term besides broken.Comment

Don't have an issue with you bo....but this threads purpose isn't for a debate....you posted a thread stating your issue, that threads still open, as are some others talking about similar issues ones are having....would've been more constructive to add the videos you posted there....
as far as crossing out of a size up, I've been pretty successful with it- unless this isn't the move you're talking about.

Re: Anyone NOT struggling with dribble moves?
Dribble moves this year is like a fighting game.
If you can't time your dribble move with the way the defender is leaning and then time your layup or dunk, then you gonna be stuck.
Like he said, slower is better.Comment

Re: Anyone NOT struggling with dribble moves?
Also, the gold dribble badges are worthless in a halfcourt setting.
That's not what they are for. They are for moving in transition.
In a half court setting, what you would want to use is basic dribble moves, combined with a size up and the left stick cross or the simple crossover or spin.Comment

Re: Anyone NOT struggling with dribble moves?
Also on the quick cross, the difference between this year and last year is if you point the stick toward he ball hand it'll do this slow dribble...don't know if it's by design.
You have to point it more toward the basket to launch...Comment

Re: Anyone NOT struggling with dribble moves?
I've seen videos where, for instance, Pham talks about which moves are linked to which direction on the stick, and then he shows a bunch of examples of those moves. That hasn't really helped me.
The only video I've seen that really made an immediate difference was someone who uploaded a video that showed a certain kind of Iso Move (I believe it was Turbo + Back & Left/Right, depending on which hand the ball's in) that was effective in getting by opponents. The trick was, you needed to wait to change directions until the ball had returned to the original hand, and THEN you could explode out of the move. Otherwise, it didn't really work. Again, it's apparently about timing.
You're getting a little hung up on the idea of "seeing the sticks," as I think someone talking through their moves like the example above could be equally as helpful. But sure, let me try again:
I'd like to watch someone play because –*and again, I don't know for sure, but I've read it on this board – there's apparently some sort of timing to chaining the ankle breaking moves, and I'm not getting it. So, using the example above, if I could see the sticks (or, like in one Youtuber's video, he put up graphical representations of the controller), and get a better idea of when to change directions, chain a different move, hit turbo, let GO of turbo, etc etc etc.
I don't know what else there is to say about it, man. I've put in plenty of time; more than some, less than others. And I'm not ordering anyone to go upload a video for me or anything, I'm just offering an example of what I think might help me learn.
My point is, while they could add tutorials it probably takes away from dev time, and secondly there are a ton of tutorials online if you're serious about learning.
I pulled up one video in an instant, and while you may not get it with that one, there may be one for you if you look for it.
Its obvious that everyone is NOT struggling with moves as an example the video showed this as well, and what the thought process was.
Only way to lab these things are in blacktop mode unfortunatelyComment

It also seems like 2K have had better dribbling tutorials in the past, and still made pretty good games. Maybe this year, they needed all of those man hours on the gameplay or whatever. Like you, I'd trade better gameplay over a tutorial every day. But I'm not so sure it's always that simple.Comment

That first video is what any player should expect out of great dribbling 99% of the time, a decent run to the rim with the defender not in good position.Comment

it seems like u were holding RS when changing direction imo. when on the drive and if u want to change direction, flick the right stick while continue pointing yor left stick towards the basket. i find it effectice when i tab turbo (not hold) + flick right stick. it works fine for me pre and post patch.

the back dribble is quite effective too. personally, i prefer tabbing turbo and right stick away from defender. u can do this by left stick away from defender without turbo too. once the defender bite a bit, tab turbo with left stick to the non ball hand to blow by. if the defender manage to cut yor lane, tab turbo and flick right stick to non ball hand.
