Re: tips for combatting the so called 'comeback code'.

Just experienced one of the most sickening runs ever. I was battling the computer back and forth all game making sure to use the strategies Ive been reading about on this forum, using timeouts when a run starts, trying to draw fouls and work the paint. It helped and the game was excited and back and forth. I held against the 3rd quarter run but the 4th quarter run hit and it was over.

What I experienced in this run really made me question if I will continue to play 2k. I got a foul called against my player through the backboard. The computer post player did a stupid spin to the baseline ended up behind the backboard and took the shot. My player jumped and somehow fouled him through the backboard, his hand went through the backboard and through the ball and fouled him... Of course there was the classic I take a couldn't be more wide open 3 and miss, and computer comes down and drains a shot with a hand in the face. Did that 2 or 3 times in this run. Had a little 5-11 point guard come down go up for a layup on THREE defenders gets fouled and does a little scoop adjustment and wraps his arm around all three defenders and scoops the layup in with the foul. This happens all game long.

Next thing I know its 2 mins left and we are somehow down by 11 even though Ive shot 55% compared to the computer 48%. Oh did I mention the rebounds that literally get sucked out of my players hands and into the computers hands for a put back. Think it was about 11 offensive rebounds to my 1. I looked at the replays and it wasnt because of my players were out of position. It was either the ball getting warped to the computer player or my player just simply refuse to reach for the ball.

You really see the darndest things during these fabricated runs.

Do these comeback codes happen when playing teams like the 76ers? Nah. Spurs and warriors? Sure....

People are still trying to convince themselves that runs are artificial???

One of these days, I'm going to record one of my games and let OS decide what they want to see me do, especially with all these issues in the game.

I'll let y'all pick my team and who I'll play against as well.

I've been saying it since recording footage on your system has become incredibly easy....

We should record these instances....especially since some are even saying they can see it coming.

I'd even be down for an experiment....we all run the same game with two established teams and post the results.

Just saying, while there's good dialogue from some here, we wont really get the devs to change anything (if necessary)unless we show them...

Re: tips for combatting the so called 'comeback code'.

It doesn't matter if there isn't a code specifically written to allow comebacks but what I do know there is an emphasis on trying to create big moments like buzzer beaters and game winners.

In overtime the game feels completely different. The tempo feels way faster and terrible shots go in for both sides which sets up things like game winners.

One example is a overtime forcing off balance 3 i hit with OJ Mayo who had just missed a wide open 3 and didn't play well the entire game. That was a game I came back in and felt I shouldn't have won. All of a sudden my defense can steal every damn pass? I didn't make any adjustments to defense because my opponent didn't make any on offense. So something clicked.

This will be an argument for a long time and I don't see it changing.

I know there are a couple of people that wouldn't mind doing an experiment on not just this but also other issues regarding the game as well.

Not like there's any downside in doing this and it's not like Beluba and Company would turn a blind eye to them, especially if we have visual proof right there in front of them.

Actually it happened to me against the Sixers. One of their loser guards became a combination of of prime Kobe and Jordan, while Okafor started blocking shots from the other side of the lane. The cpu team gets a boost in the 4th quarter, it's not even debatable.

                      Definitely agree.

Found the first half of the video I posted on the other thread, looking for the second

CPU down 10 going into 4th, gets it to 8, I miss, CPU has a WIDE open 3 and misses. Higher rated team. To me, this would be the perfect time for a 'auto comeback' but instead I grow the leads

Not really even a good example and shows more 2K stupidness than anything. I don't play offline but I would suppose you do get to successful keep leads sometimes.

I prefer posting videos instead of stories if I can.

feel free to post a better example.

Show an actual comeback though. We need to see a run and how it came about unless your winning all games by 10 or more points because I'm sure you've lost games. Very easy to show wins.

I don't sit there a say let me record this for OS or else I'd have a video up in a heartbeat.

I showed an example of a run not happening. Isn't this about comebacks? The CPU gets a boost in the 4th no? How do you miss a opportunity to cut a lead to 5 on a wide open shot? I don't even have PG in, should've been a no brainer comeback on SS/Sim

Just supporting what I'm saying with video...

If you have video of you being powerless against a comeback, post it..better than going in circles.

I don't say "let me record this video for OS" either (unless I'm showing someone something) I just hit the share button after my game....no hard work involved

I didn't say anything about the ai or 4th quarter so take that up with whoever mentioned that.

You will be able to keeps leads, no one is disputing that. The whole thing is about how the comebacks are happening or how they get triggered which makes us think there is something pulling strings.
