I fell using deny can get you killed however against manual cuts or decent play calling. It's sort of a catch 22 for me.

Correct you are... It's either select the corner defender to keep from getting beat on the 3pt shot or try to keep your guys from getting beat back door bc you have to play deny

      Hey Sam!

Using low IQ players to Deny guys sounds good at first. But it's only really useful when the guy you're denying keeps standing in the corner and spacing the floor.

Denying guys with your Low IQ player will most likely get you destroyed if your opponent runs set plays / freelance offenses that include lot of off-ball screens (Flow, Pace, Swing) for the guy you're denying. Players with Low Help D IQ is very likely to have Low Pick defense IQ as well.

Also you can't always choose who you're denying a guy with, as guys won't always get matched up perfectly on transition D.

And I am not convinced denying with a quick guy makes much difference, when the offensive player has already slipped through your guy and is cutting inside. You can't really recover from that, regardless of your players speed. Gallinari or K-Mart won't make any difference.

There's no perfect defense. You have to make sacrifices no matter what type of defense you're playing, and hope that your opponent won't be able to take advantage of it.

I mean, for instance, you start the video with a demonstration of "flawless" defense... Except, at 19th second mark, a guy is wide open at top, but your opponent is unable to see that or make the pass.

And then, Fournier leaving K-Mart open on tight setting has more to do with your other defensive choices. You switch Shabazz off-ball screen, Faried gets matched up with him. Then you can't defend Shabaz on-ball and he blows by Faried, then the Towns comes for help leaving his man open, Fournier attempts to cover Towns man, leaving K-Mart open.

If you didn't switch that off-ball screen and let Shabaz got matched up with Faried, or if you didn't let Shabazz blow by Faried and baseline, then maybe Fournier would have been just fine defending K-Mart in the corner.

I feel it's a bit unfair, blaming Fournier's decision and his defensive IQ in this case...

Looking forward to watch your next "best, uber, perfect, flawless defense" video

As I said not only was it on manual I even put help defense to 0. As i have been labbing all the settings you mentioned even with so called high IQ players since the first week of release .It is just a hard coded help glitch that happens from time to time is all. But love all your videos keep up the good work!!

Lol always glad to have you back, as always you are on point. Around the 19 second mark i think that was Rubio that got left open so I will take that. Yes Faried allowed the initial leak but he was in position to recover, Fournier over reacted by a large margin. In 2K, defensive possessions are constantly about mistake management, every possession is flawed the "perfect" one is where you cover up the flaws enough so nothing fatal amounts from it. AI Fournier allowed a fatal flaw so I am gonna be harsh on him lol

I am confused now are you really looking forward or was that an indirect friendly shot at me lol ??

Agreed, but i believe it does happen less with deny. But like others said, the back door defence better be on point with deny on. I find it good to always deny one guy so in the back of your mind you have one likely back door or leak to worry about. Makes things more manageable from a mental capacity standpoint lol

Oh not doubting you as I lab stickly for offline so I can play defense fine. The problem is I can't fix that issue for the computer controlled team in mygm and it is even worst in mycareer where you have no control of other players on defense which makes that mode even worst.

Online competitive players like yourself have tools available to minimize issues. Us offline gamers have always had that God like ability until 2k16 where there is no slider/setting I have found yet to fix the imbalance of the bad defensive logic in general for the computer controlled ai.
