He's having the best shooting season, no doubt, but all around, not even close.

Shooting and scoring. He's been one of the most effective scorers ever this year. He's playing like Prime Jordan. I don't think "One of the best seasons ever" is a stretch. At least offensively.

Prime Jordan? The guy who put up 32/8/8? The guy who put up 37, 35, 32, 33, 30, 31, 32 IN CONSECUTIVE YEARS? We know the guy can shoot. Stop saying he's on the level of LeBron, MJ etc. Because he's not even close and it's just so disrespectful to say such a thing.

Offensively, he absolutely is. Curry's averaging 30 points on a true shooting percentage (68.1%) that's 6.7 percentage points higher than Jordan's career-best (61.4%). If you extrapolate that level of efficiency, he could presumably average 35-37 points a game on 60% or so TS, which would be equal to Jordan's best.

He's arguably been the best scorer of all time this season.

Oh my lord. I don't even know what to say to you anymore. That is just blasphemous, asinine, stupid, idiotic etc. Arguably the best scorer of all time this year? Best jumpshooter, no doubt, but MJ was so versatile. He had the mid range j, he could take it to the rack, he could do everything. LeBron, Durant, Russ, Harden, and maybe even Anthony Davis are more well rounded scorers than Curry right now. Quick question, where would you put Curry on the all-time list? I'm genuinely curious.

Scoring is not equivalent to versatility. Wilt Chamberlain was a much less versatile scorer than Carmelo Anthony.

Scoring is about putting up points efficiently. Curry is doing that arguably better than anyone else ever has, and there's no objective argument against that. There's a reason he's on pace to have the best PER ever.

His efficiency is high because he hits so many three balls. He's the best jumpshooter ever, but he can't take it to the defence like prime Jordan could.

So far, it's a very fair comparison to make. http://www.basketball-reference.com/...3=&p4=&p5=&p6=

How do you know Curry won't average over 30 a game for the next six years, too? With his shooting ability, he probably will.

He's only 27 years old, dude. It's a little premature for the "all-time ranking" talk.

You're really jumping the gun here. I don't care if he averages 30 for the next six years. If he does, it'll be like this year : pretty much all jumpers. I still say that MJ is twice the pure scorer Steph is. Steph can't touch KD as far as pure scoring either.

I just wanted to know, since you know, he's "on a prime Jordan level" and all.

Who cares how he scores? I don't care if he took literally nothing but three-pointers-- he's scoring like Jordan. That is absolutely, completely undeniable.

You act like shooting threes is cheating or something.

Never said it was cheating, but he isn't as good of a pure scorer as MJ.

I said you're acting like it.

He's scoring points at a Jordan-like rate. 2016 Stephen Curry is as good a scorer as has ever existed in the NBA. What argument can you make make against that?
