The game clearly has the ability to speed up passes, but for some reason, it reserves those high speed passes for the CPU only.
    Hmmm

Letting the player attack the ball on long passes rather than doing that "2 hands up" stance would eliminate so many of those cheesy football passes....or at least make the player think twice about doing it...

I find it kinda annoying how some people can whip passes around hazardously, but the ball rarely gets tipped or stolen. I don't mind good ball movement, but I do think the game is too forgiving on cross court passes.
Just my two cents but in past 2K games I found cross-court passes got intercepted at a ridiculous rate, to the point of not being even worth the risk, effectively removing them from the game (why even bother if it's gonna be a 50/50 type risk?), whereas IRL guys pull them off kind of a lot. I think this year's game is closer to the real thing than past games.

there is a difference between a 'skip pass' and the type of cross court passes you can get away with in 2k. The kind 2k allows would be lighter fluid for fast breaks In real life.

And to clarify, I'm talking about when players make multiple cross court passes in the same possession...while jumping.

Re: Why are passes so protected?

Casual players would really whine if this feature was implemented as players who just toss the ball around the court would instantly get punished on every drive.

But I agree with you 100%. When the ball is passed, it seems like the pass is in a fixed animation that guarantees that the receiver will get the ball. Even if there is traffic in the way, a hand in the way, etc.

This is most noticeable in how you can just force the ball down low and there is literally no way to stop it as a user (as centers have horrible stealing stats). Even the CPU has a tough time stopping passes down low because of how the stealing system is broken.

Most of my cross court passes end up going over th players head even when wide open. lol
