Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I agree with this so much. For years now I've been wanting a new mycareer experience, one that's like the real NBA. The high school/college additions were great but with each came it's own problems. I don't mind playing at random high schools but as a proud Houstonian I really don't wanna be from virtual NY ever again. If possible I wish we could create our own 3 high schools and gyms, that'd be pretty cool. With the colleges I know they have limitations on what they can do so I just hope they can add a few more in there and get like an Elite 8 going or something. Now with the story aspect, I say if they add a story give us real options. They marketed it as #BeTheStory yet you can't do anything to change the path of where "your story" goes. Spike had already lost his touch a while ago and I just don't think he did this right. Respect to 2K for trying to go outside the box to entertain us but it's just not what the people actually wanted. Well most people, there are some who loved it but on OS and other places people weren't huge fans of it. To add to a so-so story they don't change the rating system which has been flawed since they brought it along last year. The best mycareer in my opinion were on 2K11 and 2K13 as those games not only had good gameplay but I felt as if I could make my character anything and have fun with it. That dynamic is gone now with this new ratings system and hopefully it's brought back. I have more but I want to end it right here as this is pretty lengthy already. This mode has been my most played mode since 2K10 and while I respect the lengths 2K goes through to deliver a mycareer experience, I think they lost the most important aspect: it's suppose to be MY career.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
So beautiful, I had tear in my eye. This would probably be the best MyCareer ever. Please separate MyCareer and MyPark. Those two should be different. Badges shouldn't transfer from MyCareer to MyPark. Seeing how people just cheese to get badges in MYcareer to use in MyPark is BS. Let those people earned those badges in MyPark. Allow Custom Rosters and Custom sliders in MyCareer. Sick and Tired of playing with these garbage 2k official rosters and garbage 2k simulation sliders. 2k Your roster sucks stop forcing us who want to play MyCareer to use your garbage broken rosters. We want Custom ROsters so we can enjoy the full potential of MyCareer. MyCareer should be able to use offline stop forcing us to go online to just to play MYCareer. Lets us have more control of what attribute we want to increase. This leveling up system is trash, I want to choose what attribute I want to increase.Last edited by MeloJello; 01-02-2016, 01:30 AM.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I think the main thing that is holding back this mode well I don't want to use the term but "Casuals" with MyCareer being NBA 2k's most popular mode aside from us here not many players would want a more realistic simulation of what players go through in the NBA which sucks.Comment

Hit Start, Quit, "Ask to Sub out WITH VC". It will send you to the end of the game, you get your VC, and you don't have to listen to the annoying postgame wrap up.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I love this thread; it perfectly encapsulates all the problems I've had with the direction of the mode.
It seems they've gone away from the hardcore basketball fans who want a truly SIM NBA career experience to cater to the ADD generation and casual basketball fans who just want to come in and be treated like the next MJ from game 1.
Biggest point: make me EARN my reputation, and have the story react to my level of play, not the other way around! If I stink it up in college I shouldn't be a first round draft pick, and maybe should be in the D League. If I'm averaging 9 points a game I shouldn't be in the starting rotation. Conversely if I'm a super player who regularly drops 40 I should go first overall and instantly start. The important point is there should be a range of possibilities based on play, not this one size fits all story route of the past few years, which is more like one size fits those who want to be Lebron 40 games in.
ALSO: attribute "buckets" suck, are a completely illogical system, and I can't figure out one positive for them. Go back to individual attribute upgrades please.Last edited by kadzier; 01-03-2016, 01:04 PM.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I thought this years mycareer would be different so i gave it a chance, in reality just a small tiny upgrade over last years mode and what's even worse it's kinda of 'cosmetic' upgrade not gameplay.
Second season in Oklahoma and i'm dropping 37 ppg (LOL), Durant scores 19 ppg and Westbrook 17ppg, i only done this to see would superstars play like themselves but no they not, after my arrival to OKC Durant transformed into Jimmy Butler and Westbrook transformed into Eric Bledsoe type of player.
What can i say, i can take 60 shots per game if i want without any penalty, only penalty is when you foul out, coach keeps me in the game even if lead by 20+ margin and lots of nonsense things.
Last month i started MyTeam for the first team although i'm not fan of any card game except poker lol but card based sports games is something that i never found possibly interesting (ala FIFA ultimate team mode) so i got some free card packs opened them up and i got few role players such as Afflalo, Beverley..then i realized all their efforts are sucked into this mode where in my opinion 'dumb' people (don't get offended please) pay real money to open so called premium card packs with possibility to add some historic legends to their teams, well 2K we players made you into what are you now, back then you didn't had MyTeam or any kind of 'real money spending mode' and we built you up where you now just to realize you invest all your efforts to some 'fictional' game mode rather than real basketball SIM what you been selling all these years.
Well, for me personally that is very greedy and manipulative behavior from game developer. Next year i will try game at my friends before i buy it (if i decide to) and money ain't issue it's just that you became lazy as hell.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLCf-URqIf0

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I just want the combine, summer league, preseason and d-league back
I don't know who was telling them all that stuff sucked when they took it out and put in the rookie game bs. Only major change from there I want is for teammates to not be utter garbage in the mode. Game isn't fun when it feels like your AI is almost purposely trying to lose by taking god awful shots or not playing defenceComment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I'm a couple games into MC and I get A ratings just following plays, boxing out, grabbing boards and getting a couple assists as a pg. Like the other guy said though, you're most likely gonna get blown out doing that because the mode forces you to have to average 40 to get wins.Comment
