I'm torn between letting us get control of the roster and influencing the GM. It's unrealistic for a rookie or an average player to go into the GMs office and tells them how to do their jobs. Unless you're LeBron James try that crap on say the Spurs and you'll be wearing a different jersey on another team or out of the NBA. On the other hand the GM logic in this game is pretty bad and they make horrible decisions signing bad players and trading away all the good players. I think I'd be okay with it if our player was a 90+ Ovr star player then I can see it working

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Jesus Christ I hate how when some team drafts me they act i am second coming of Michael Jordan. I was drafted by Thunder and 2nd game into mycareer Durant passes me ball in crunch time i was like WTFFF later on i turned on TV to watch OKC vs GSW and saw that their rookie Cameron Payne wasn't even in the game which is realistic thing to expect.
In 2K teammates treat me like superstar, that maybe is cool for kids but to me it's utter BS, like Westbrook would assist me in fastbreak or Durant would pass me ball in crunch time in real life, no way.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLCf-URqIf0

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Either go all out and force players to need skill for maxed, all badged up my-players, or streamline the process for us rookie/casual 99 in two days players.
a balanced system so there aren't meta types of players. every good player style should have understandable and counter-able advantages and disadvantages.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
How about MyCareer Online Co-Op mode?
Some of us are mostly interested in competing online in Pro-Am/MyPark, but we are forced to play the cheesey/repetitive MyCareer offline mode to earn badges/attributes.
The online mode is fun, but MyCareer is boring after the first 3 seasons and starts to feel like a grind instead of a game.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I don't know what they were thinking getting rid of the fake NBA.COM website but it's hard to get news on what's going on around the league.
Instead you've had to rely on social media which doesn't even work that well and you end up lost when something major happens. In my SF's MyCareer who plays for the Utah Jazz they traded Derrick Favors for Derrick Rose I didn't know about the trade until I actually played the game. If the fictional NBA.COM website returns It would be much easier to keep track of things.Comment

How about a MyPark Career mode?
Let us play in fictional leagues that allow co-op online play.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I love a full separate college game that you could start your player, play 1-4 seasons then bring him up to NBA 2k.
Baring that..
I'd love to see the draft combine and also peer draft interviews. also better drafting by teams. Like if I made Center, and Philly is #1 they probably won't take me since they have Okafor.
I'd love summer league too, especially if they could match the way summer league feels.
I think if they could kind of take from what MLB the Show does it would help. Like how you're not special, if you end up being a star then great if not then that's how it goes. If you're 75 overall and your team has a 85 at the same position then tough you're gonna be getting less minutes. If you're 3rd string or too low of an Overall then you get a lot DNP's or just crappy garbage minutes. You can be sent down to the D League if you have a bad overal or perform bad and you won't be back until both improve.
Also with contract negotiations. I wanna be able to negotiate every penny. If I'm a 90 overall and want 20 Mil per year then I wanna be able choose that or if wanna take less to add cap room then I wanna be able to pick that too.
Add injuries. Have a durability rating. You improve that and your injury risk decreases but hey if you get hurt then so be it. You can tear your Acl, break something. Anything. It's realistic. It would suck to get hurt in a big game or good season but it happens. In the show I was pitching a perfect game in game 7 of the WS and got hurt with one out in the 9th. Has always bugged me but like I said it is what it is.
Make it a lot harder to score. Especially as a rookie or low rated player. A 65-75 overall doesn't take 15-20 shots per game and doesn't touch the ball on every possession. You should just have to do what the team needs you to do.
But even as a good player it shouldn't be easy to score 30-40 points. Plus I shouldn't have to put it down to 8 minute quarters just to make sure I'm not score 40 every game and we're not playing a 140-135 regulation game. I want to be able to play 12 minute quarters, have 100-95 or 90-85 kind of games be the norm especially in the east and not have to score 50 to win.
Also rebounding is too easy. My 6'4" SG gets 15 rebounds like it's nothing and I just have to not even try for most rebounds so I'll end up with 6-8.
I'd love to be able to talk to the coach and the GM and even the owner. The better you are the more influential you are. Influence draft decisions, free agent decisions and roster moves.
Have the teams play you like they want. Play on Memphis and your defense will be more of a focus. Play on the Clippers and your offense will be more of a focus. And you can be traded if the team thinks it's a good deal and doesn't think you're untouchable.
And you can change the way a team is looked at. You can star in LA and continue the Lakers history of winning and be compared to the greats. Or you can make Charlotte a powerhouse that's winning championships and be a superstar big fish in a smaller pond.
Add back more post game interviews, not every game. But like the season opener/ finale, big games, play off games, close games, etc.. And if you won or hit a milestone you could be gracious or a sore winner and if you lost then you could rail on what went wrong be it you, the team, the coaches or the refs (would love that last part).
And have your own personality. Quiet and reserved. Expressive and loud. Complaining to refs or at them.
I'd also like to be able to see badge progression and not have to cheese to get things like deadeye.Comment

Speaking about big moments I'd like to see our player run in the tunnel for those special moments like a big game or in the playoffs

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Thisss, old gen was so fire with things like that and i would add one more thing. In MyCareer there is no boxscore for other games around the league, just plain stats are presented to us in league leaders, blocks, steals, rebs categories. So if Durant or Curry are able to lead league with let's say 31 or 32 ppg i'm not able to see their night to night performances and FG % in boxscores vs AI opponents. #OLDgenALLtheWAY
