It's concerning that the default offline experiences differs by almost 50/50 between users who experience a slow vs fast environment by default.

I wish the default environment would z99m for me but unfortunately I have even played as high as 80 speed against HOF CPU.

At 50 it is slow-mo and even the ball has hitches as it travels from hand to hand. It's a terrible showing and horrible experience. I don't up the game speed for competition but merely to feel like things are starting to move at a "normal" pace.

At 50 I feel I'm fighting inertia and my stick could snap at any moment based on how much input resistance I'm trying to push throug.

I play with game speed at 50. It's perfect for my play style. Played against my son last night. I haven't played 2k in 2 weeks. He always bumps the speed up to 65 and puts it in hall of fame. He says 50 is way too slow and usually loses. At 65 I always lose. He's a cheeser though. It's just too fast and unrealistic. Lol

You serious here? Oh dear. I definitely feel player individuality... In terms of animations and how they feel on court.

What I don't see yet is AI using players to their strengths, but that's common problem in video games.

Hell, NBA 2k16 is best individuality wise refined game on market. I will put PES 2016 as second.

However, we have might see EA and Live taking steps in next few years... *I like some ideas EA implemented in Live which are NOT present in 2k (and their controller settings are well thought out!).

As for game speed at 50 being too fast and unrealistic, here are highlights from Irving vs Wizards from yesterday

          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bwsRSdzit9I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Try pulling them moves at 50 game speed. It's too sluggish. 70 upwards is what you're looking for my friend. The games irl are not played at turtle speed .

But game pacing has been a problem for 2k for years. No exception in 2k16...

            Re: &quot;Game Speed&quot; make a big difference

In my opinion the players, and their (non size-up) dribble moves are too slow and un-explosive ( then add in the hesitations smh) but CERTAIN passes are a tad too fast which makes raising the game speed tricky.

I was watching a Westbrook highlight reel and saw him accelerate after a steal and abuse the rim...it was inspiring lol. So i later grabbed the thunder, got a steal with Westbrook and felt like trying to breakaway with...Trevor Ariza.

Being the weirdo i am, i looked up Westbrook's 3/4 court sprint time, went to practice and messed around with sliders until i got close. In the end i just had to raise acceleration to 55. Still didn't fix the slow crossovers, dbl crossovers, hesitations and in and outs.

              Re: &quot;Game Speed&quot; make a big difference

I agree with a lot of you here, but my issue is with shot speeds. Some of them feel way too fast while others feel way too slow. The ones that are too slow are the worst as I feel with certain players, I cant use them how they would play in real life scenarios.

I've played yesterday and it was lighting fast. And as usual whenever it's that fast and fluid my games on 12mn Online Myleague drops with connection error. If they are 7-8mn per q then they don't deop. Whenever it's awfully sluggish and delay then 12mn games never drop. Wth!!!

I can't really make sense out of it. The game speed and fluidity always keep changing on both offline and online. What's going on ? :/

I play with the game around 55 to 65 game speed.

But some days, the game is faster and some days the game is slower on default 50 game speed.

Mines is on 50 as well. Used to be sluggish, feeling like a semi truck and kind of moving on his own before this patch, but now I am good. Few hiccups where it slightly happens, but overall that patch saved the game for me.

The animations can use a boost in speed IMO. Some of the dunk animations take too long to complete, causing the players to look 'floaty', which leads to some of those weird blocks that happens in this game.

I've been playing around with game speed these days and all i can say is that dunk animations have their own 'speed'. Doesn't matter what game speed is on, there is one dunk animation, one handed slam (don't know exactly to which dunk package belongs) that is super quick, like spacejam quick plus dunker takeoff near FT line, just a little bit closer to the basket, i swear animation is so quick you can't even try to bother player when he takeoff.

is there a defined difference on what "game speed" is compared to the speed slider in the game?

Game speed at 50 is fine... it's just lack of "explosiveness".

                              Re: &quot;Game Speed&quot; make a big difference

I still think there needs to be a bigger differential in speed for players ratings...

Ball handling speed, fast break speed, recovery speed, chasedown speed..

                              Idk stuff like that.

I watch the Sixers every game they play so this is my observations from the small 15 man roster but it's enough to apply to the league...

Ish Smith with the ball can get from rebound to the other rim faster than almost anyone in the league. In 2K, either because of stutters in animations or whatever, he could've been up and back twice by the time it takes me to do it once.

Running down the court, Nerlens Noel on a fast break (without the ball) is just as fast as Lebron. But with the ball he's just as slow as Shaq.

Getting back on D, a guy like Jerami Grant can outrun guards to get back into position.

And rotating from the 3 down into the paint both Grant and Nerlens are extremely fast.

These are all different situations where speed is applied in different ways (also awareness would be a factor as well I guess)...

Implementing this would be a ton of work especially all 15 men on each team but it definitely would change how guys feel in certain situations and would really show who knows who can and cannot do certain things on the court.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

                              -Allen Iverson

                                Re: &quot;Game Speed&quot; make a big difference

I just picked up the game for the first time in a few weeks yesterday and have been really struggling with adjusting to the weight of everything.

I don't own the game so my limited experience can surely be to blame but compared to previous 2K's, I felt like each of my players weighed 400 pounds. It seemed like if I feathered my defender he wouldn't move at all, but if I did slightly more than feather he would be way too slow to counter in the opposite direction.

I'm experimenting with game speed a little just to see if it affects responsiveness a bit.
