PG definitely carries that team but they have more talent than 2k gives them credit for.

Well, I won't say that Paul George carries the team. It's a typical Frank Vogel team. He gets a lot out of the players, but no one stands out individually beyond Paul George. However, they can win games without him.

Confusing update for just about everybody, I'll just complain about Bosh a little bit because I don't see how his rating could go down when he's having the best stretch of his Heat career. Over the last 10 games, he's averaging 25/8/3 on 50% FG and 45% from 3 and there's an even bigger sample size to how good he's been this season.

I think beds knows what hes doing, its just that for some reason the methods dont seem consistent across all players.

If there is a formula for each rating based on stats, I would think a conversion program could spit out the corresponding numbers for updated ratings. With a games played minimum, this would allow for even the most obscure player to receive recognition.

Some of these attribute changes seriously confuse me. Lebron goes from a 83-84 moving shot close in the beginning of the year, up to a 94+ at one point, now down to a 79 (61% on 331 Attempts) Meanwhile Kawhi is up to a 94 (63% on 168 attempts)

A quick trip to Basketball-Reference, which doesn't provide the exact zones 2K apparently uses but it's close enough.

Inside (At Rim): 83-113 (73.5%) - Ast'd 59% (85/84 rating)
Close (3-15 ft): 80-171 (46.7%) - Ast'd 33% (93/94 rating)
Mid (16-23 ft): 38-97 (39.2%) - Ast'd 61% (85/84 rating)
3pt (23+): 69-138 (50.0%) - Ast'd 93% (Leads league) (95/93 rating)

LeBron James
Inside (At Rim): 191-273 (70.0%) - Ast'd 46% (97/96 rating)
Close (3-15 ft): 51-140 (36.4%) - Ast'd 16% (80/79 rating)
Mid (16-23 ft): 32-84 (38.1%) - Ast'd 28% (70/70 rating)

These ratings are not without flaws; however it is crystal clear that Kawhi has been significantly better than LeBron from Close range.

Meanwhile, Tim Duncan mid range does down to a 60 when shooting 32.8% from there, while Hassan Whiteside midrange goes UP to 76 while shooting 32.6%

Mid: 4-11 (36.4%) - Ast'd 75% (76/76 rating)

To be fair: the 13-23 feet data that Beds and 2K use to determine Whiteside's Mid-rating is likely "accurate". I personally consider it a giant mistake by 2K Sports and a misconception of what the Mid-range rating should actually represent. It is clear via conventional data (and the eye test) that Whiteside is not a mid-range player, and if 2K's gameplay is evaluating 13 foot paint shots to be the same type of shot as a set/off-dribble 20 footer then they should really re-evaluate their shooting zones.

With that said it is clear that Duncan has shot the ball poorly/infrequently from distance and that is a major reason why he is only averaging 9.2 points per game.
