What's interesting to me is that this rating system doesn't seem to work either. Maybe they need multiple guys to update the rosters, maybe it's too much for one person. I understand that no matter what everyone will not be happy but I read the complaints on here and Twitter and around the net and it seems for the most part there needs to be a new way to rate players. As far as player likeness I'm done with that because well nvm.

Yeah

The all time rating system is bad imo. Its kinda subjective (because players don't all have the same individual ratings if they are shooting the same percentages from different ranges) and there are far to many players with ratings over 85 in attributes. Combine that with gold/silver badges that further boost them on offense, and you get star players are able to perform above their real life ceiling. Based on how Cavs users play with them online, you'd think Irving was far and away the best player on the Cavs the way he's unstoppable on offense and that Kevin Love is Dirk-adjacent

I only spoke about offence because defense is pretty bad in this game from the offball perspective. Guys rotate with bad timing, leave guys open in transition, don't guard passing lanes on cuts etc... It seems unless you're playing with the Spurs or Warriors your CPU can't steal a pass that is travelling right by their face

DeMar has been hitting his mid range jumpers. Why has his mid range been lowered??

Lowry has been shooting better from mid range than Wade yet he has a lower mid range rating??

he has cold zone everywhere in mid range. lowering it means dont even think of using him online. does 2k update hot/cold zone too in roster update? i know they do for signatures.

Some players who declined are still beasts in game and i think untouched hot zones and badges make them better players than they really are in reality.

If you look that way (which is fair statement) then LeBron also should be dropped after that hard loss against Warriors on MLK night, i was watching game and he was looking like role player that night, not a 95 OVR indeed.

my beef is why DERRICK WILLIAMS does not play like DERRICK WILLIAMS. Dude moves mad slow with and without the ball, he is by far the most athletic player in the open court on the team.

yep, he plays nothing like D-will at all. they got his shooting ratings right, but his quickness, speed, handles, athleticism ratings are off. he moves like a slow power forward and can barely dribble, when he's flying everywhere catching sick lobs, brining the ball up the court, slashing to the rim with his handles, finishing almost everything around the rim.

i van see him bing 77-75 at most. he's way off to me

At this point (technology wise) i don't see true reason why they shouldn't update players look at least once per month. It has been promised years ago yet no clue of that. I think there is a legit reason.

A simple "We will not be updating any more player art this year" would have stopped all the complaining. Their silence just stokes the flames of hope that they will actually update players. Gary Neal's cyberface is so bad I had to do a cap of my own of him..

I'm starting to think that the Art department moves on 2k17. I think it was last year where they came out with a second round of player scans in the second half of the season. And then after there weren't anymore. I think the Art department has to move on.

And I wish people would understand that players likeness is impossible to keep up with. Things a player has on him is one thing. But exactly how a player styles his hair. Can't ever be done unless the NBA change up their CBA to force players to keep their hair. Or force them to scan each time they change. So please stop it about hair. Go back to those headband threads lol jk

Roster updates are nice and imperative but I wish they'd work on tendency and touches throughout the season in conjunction with the roster updates.

If anything introduce this for 2K17 and I can see the roster being very dynamic.

Just another post where people bitch about OVR rather than specific attributes.
Many players are right on the cusp so it doesn't take much to send a player +1 or -1.

Melo's OVR rating is fine.
He is nowhere near the two-way player that Paul George is (much less Kawhi Leonard). He is not nearly the offensive juggernaut that Kevin Durant and LeBron are.
He is, however, a rich man's Gordon Hayward & Danilo Gallinari. There is a sizable gap between he and those players. Crying about the marginal difference between 88 and 87 without understanding what makes up that rating to begin with is an act of futility.

Aaron dropped also and he is playing solid basketball

Arron Afflalo is an average starting SG.

He's had some big games but he is not consistent and he just as many games where he is a non-factor (or worse).
In his last 5 games he is averaging 18 PPG.
In the three before that he averaged 9 PPG on 35% shooting.
He doesn't stand out from the pack and is clearly not at the level of a Khris Middleton (24 PPG over his last 12 games).

Derrick Williams is averaging 16 points a game and you still have not showed him any love in the rating

This much is evident, and it's a bit surprising 2K hasn't noticed yet since they did give him a Moments MyTeam card earlier in the year.

Lighting up the Nets is not proof... especially since the Knicks LOST that game.

Looking over his ATTRIBUTES the only thing that stands out as low right now is 45 Offensive Consistency. He is a below average shooter and does most of his damage at the rim. Those paint looks he got against the Nets (with Melo out) are not the same looks he'll get against an actual team.
