I have no idea how they work. Like on what days for example do the Raptors wear their all Red socks. And then another day they'll wear the designer like socks.

2k's system is this:
Socks are assigned to the jersey, so therefore will not change depending on if you are home or away.
On Monday-Wednesday each team will wear default stance socks. This can include solid white, black, red, blue, or yellow. (So you will see the Lakers black jerseys with yellow socks, the Knicks away jerseys with blue socks, the Warriors home jerseys with blue socks, etc etc but mostly everyone will be black or white).
On Thursday-Sunday each team will wear either their team logo custom stance socks, or their core color custom stance socks, depending on which is assigned to that jersey. Team logo are self explanatory, they are typically one solid color with a secondary trim and a big team logo on the back (although these are much smaller IRL)
Core color are the ones that typically have a striped pattern.
The days of the week schedule is also reflected in MyGM and MyLeague.
Hopefully 2k expands upon their great strides in customization and include the ability for us to assign whatever socks we want whenever we want along with accessory (including headbands) and shoe colors in 2k17 in all modes.
I would recommend this being stickied since it's asked every few days.

Funny thing is, most NBA teams barely ever wear the stupid Stance socks. Yet 2K forces you to wear them.

Honestly they are really common, depends on the team. It's just that your Bucks (along with the Heat and Warriors) wear them less than anybody lol.
To be clear, the NBA has no schedule, it's a team choice each night. That's 2K's schedule to make it easier for themselves with the lack of user customization.

I really like the stance designs. I'm sure the players in real life like using stance too. I have a pair irl and they are so much softer and comfortable than nike elites.
I think the scheduling of the socks in 2k was a last minute thing. I dont think they had enough time to encode something for us to choose the socks before the game. I'm confident by next year, it will be similar to MLB the Show where we can pick out the jersey, shorts, and socks individually. (especially with ATL's mix and match thing going on.) Maybe we can change accessory colors too.Comment
