You need to break a certain threshold of acceleration to execute posters which is why your short PG is my effective than your Inside SF

Posterizer is overrated in this sense because you generally simply need to get a good burst of momentum as you attack the hoop and from their it's all possible. Especially if defender is standing harmless in the restricted area: he will be highly suceptible to being posterized by anyone of any height or build..

My SF is same height as max PG but he posters and he lacks the badge, he's also Outside build.. it's much more relative to your ability to burst to the rim than it is the actual badge or dunks thst you have enabled or scoring build...

Yeah my 6'0 outside PG has ~70-75 dunking but a lot of the time he'll yam it. Don't have posterizer either.

I need an Adult. Beluba, ELI5: Why do poster animations that we never see only trigger when there are no dunks equipped?

So yeah, You either get a bad layup, or a monster poster. There is no in between. I need to experiment with this and see if it immediately stops working when dunks are equipped. Like maybe having 15 dunks on overrides the poster animations through sheer amount of options? Add in park dunks and it would make sense that you see 3 posters tops


Edit: You can dunk with the stick! So you won't get any crazy tomahawk or rim hangs, but you can still attack hard and not be limited to lay ups. Okay. This is getting interesting

Edit 2: Oh, Hello new 360 alley I've never seen before, and 2 hand alley. Man, I hope this isn't just a string of luck or a placebo effect. My current thesis: There may be underlying tendancies or rarity levels to dunks. It would explain why 2 my players with the same packages sometimes see certain dunks more often on different guys. I'd assume that most of the posters are tied to packages, and equipping a ton overlaps percentages. So if say, pack 1, 3, 4 and 5 have Dunk X, Y, Z, pack 2 and 6 have X, Z, and pack 7 has X, Y. Then dunk X will appear more than the other 2, because it overlaps giving it a larger trigger percent. That would also explain why you get certain posters with no dunks. It's completely random and you don't have any influence over the style.

It makes no sense.. How can you do them without the packages, but when equipped you can't..

This doesn't work for me. Tried it all last night. Made my dunk animations worse or non existent.

Anybody else have success?

Can confirm it working. I definitely saw some animations I hadn't seen at all this year after taking my dunks off. Seems like I can still do decent normal dunks with the stick. Also saw a few new alley animations, but it could be coincidence

I don't know how but wow.

It might be that some dunk packages might have more posterizers than others even the default dunks might have the best posterizers. But notice the guy in the video how most of his posterizers are off an animation that gives a boost to the player. Either from size up and speed boost, crossover or even tripe threat. Thats what triggers them.

Are you using the analog stick exclusively to trigger these? Or the Square button?

A little bit of both. I use square usually, so it catch myself using it alot too. Basically you end up usually laying it in. Your launch distance is smaller with dunks on it seems like.

Why the **** doesn't 2k care about fixing speed dribbling? Makes no sense that bums can just do this all day and get any kind of success. Speed Dribble on 21 and it's virtually unbeatable...

I get a lot of contact dunks, but here's the thing, I know all of my ranges. I also am relentlessly attacking and then kicking once I have them guarding the jumper. I need to experiment with the stick more

Still cant stop speed boosters? cmon man!!!!!!!!! On 21 its the easiest because they have no room to work with. If 2k did fix the speed boosting in this game it would be a ghost town smh.


On another note some of the defense animations are absolute garbage now. Too often I get the animation where my guy puts his arms up and the offensive player just slides right around me for an easy basket. Contested Fade Ace Dead Eye shots are dropping far too often also. I'm hoping they get it right in 2k17
