If you go into settings and select "pre-rotate" of the opposing center, your big will switch onto whoever is attacking the rim and you'll get a lot of a.i blocks. Problem is you'll give up a lot of offensive rebounds.

Re: Question: Do your AI bigs block shots?

I've been thinking for years that they need to borrow some attributes from NFL 2k5 namely the Aggressiveness and Composure stats. Aggressiveness made a player more penalty prone yet more prone to coming up with big plays because they would put the pedal to the metal more. Composure kept that stat from getting out of control as it could if things weren't going well, its akin to the consistency stat but more overarching if you will. With those kinds of stats you could differentiate from a foul prone rookie who would gamble on steals and blocks and a more composed vet who STILL gets steals and blocks but also knows when to contest and avoid getting in fouls if he is for example in foul trouble.

My AI defenders do nothing in ~4 out of 5 games. They leave their opponent wide open under the basket, on the 3 pt line or wherever they want.

He changes some shots but its super easy to draw fouls on him by pump-faking with average bigs. More importantly since I dont chase shots with him he'll literally go 10 games without a block.

i'm torn because I get it...the Sixers need to be bad. I just dont feel like a more active Noel (and Jerami Grant too, btw) means we improve that much.
If he's playing regular rotational minutes, that just shouldn't happen. Even if the user didn't make any coaching/defensive adjustments, he should get some blocks because of his skill set and temperament anyway.

Hopefully they're working on fixing the shot blocking of the CPU bigs, so that elite shot blockers can have those 6, 7, 8, and sometimes more, block games that do occur.

lol...yeah as long as those 6+ block games are super low percentage I guess its ok. Grant actually had 8 in a game last year.

User play style should come into play here though. If the User is playing the CPU and relentless and repeatedly challenging elite shot blockers with poor or marginal finishers(because we know that many Users won't utilize sound basketball strategy if they don't have to), then they should pay the price of eating leather more than the average amount of times.

CPU offensive opponents will hopefully be programmed to be realistically wary of challenging the top rim protectors.

Ironically Joel Embiid JUST had 8 blocks in the clenching game 5 victory of the NBA Finals in my MyLeague, CPU v CPU no interference or input from me.. I dunno if its because of the changes I've been making to the sliders or if its just random happenstance. I'll have to run more games to see if what I did caused the change and we can get more consistent blocks. I've always assumed it was shot selection but I might be able to prove it.

Weirdest part is CPU vs CPU or if you play vs the CPU shot-blockers largely do what they should. When you're controlling the guards? #notsomuch I refuse to baby sit guys so they do what they're supposed to.
