Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
It's a real bummer that you can't box people out along the perimeter at all in this game.
It seems like the range to initiate a box out animation is limited to 15 feet or so. They need to expand that range and make it completely unlimited anywhere in the half court.
Right now, if you hold the left trigger out around the three point line or out in the mid-range area, your guy won't ever make contact with anyone. So the offensive players around the arc can just turbo by your defender and sneak in for some cheap offensive rebounds because the game doesn't allow perimeter box outs.Comment

Are the things talked about in this thread (and in the other front page thread here on OS) recent happenings, or has the game always been like this for you?Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
Always been like that, I noticed most of these issues the day the game came out and started going off on twitter. I somewhat had a feeling that most of the things were intentional to help aid in momentum /runs, and that's what pissed me off. I absolutely hated the fact that they would force turnovers and or bad possessions by implementing things which you have no control over.Last edited by Sleepy59; 03-27-2016, 09:13 PM.Comment

Not only pro am but in the park as well. I thought it was the damn box out assist but setting it to 0 does nothing. LT is terrible this year....
There's also this back peddle animation that you can't break out of. Seems to effect centers only.Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
agreed op. i'm pretty sure it's because of the right stick control scheme in which the game needs to figure out whether you're trying to dribble move or shoot with the right stick so there has to be a delay. please move the dribble controls back to the lt + left stick imo.
clunky, clunky, clunky! 2k11 & 12 felt great.Last edited by psydefx; 03-27-2016, 09:34 PM.Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
I know none of you guys follow me on twitter but I tweeted something that could help y'all out a bit. I moved away from sports games and into fighting games. One of the first things I needed to be competitive was a gaming monitor that had very little input lag. Played 2k on the monitor before trading it in and I will say I noticed a drastic feel in the game. I know everyone doesn't have money to blow on a gaming monitor but if you can find an old PC monitor or something with 1 m/s, you should feel a difference in your gaming experience. It won't fix everything but some of the input lag will go away.#WashedGamerComment

7'0 and my REB is in the low 90's
Really? That's what I figured it might have been after thinking about it...but it still does it? Is this a new thing? I just started playing Pro Am again but I don't remember it from before..Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
The only time I've seen that is when the guy I'm trying to box out has a much higher rebounding than me and/or height . That is why a lot of ppl recommend 7'3 centers with max wingspan/athlete/ rebounding with hustle points and rebounding crasher all gold .
Other than that it could've been lag maybe your button press didn't register quick enough . Idk lol#1 Laker fan

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
I've felt that way at times early on. I'm having a hard time reigning things in. I'm able to win and make good things happen, but it often feels like a crapshoot, pretty much like I'm out of control and frequently fighting the game, which is vastly different from my previous 2K experiences over the years.
With so many gamers here who love it, though, I'm assuming I'll come around. But we'll see. I dig just about every other non-gameplay aspect of 2K16 (classic teams, create-a-team, franchise, re-location, etc) so struggling with the controls and responsiveness has been a little bit of a bummer for me.Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
I love the game. It's incredible but I have to agree. The controls are frustrating unresponsive. I've had many a rage about input delay and that's OFFLINE for me.
Defense and trying to stay with your man is a nightmare. Offensive moves, dribble wise are all there for us, but the delay makes it incredibly tough to get past defenders.
And don;t get me started on passing......good lord.

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
In terms of player movement and perceived lag, have you tried increasing the game speed? That always makes dribbling and shooting seem more "responsive" to me, simply because it's quicker. Passes have a lot more zip on them too, so no more slow floating passes to wide open guys. If you're on default 50, try raising to 55. May take a while to get used to, but it should feel more "responsive".
Can't help with the directional passing sorry. If there's multiple players in the same vicinity, I guess it's hard for the game to differentiate who you're aiming for. I almost always icon pass for this very reason. Have you tried the other settings, such as openness and...? I've blanked on the other option.Last edited by TheWood56; 03-29-2016, 09:10 AM.Comment

Re: 2K16 has some of the most unresponsive controls of any game I've played
Controls def need to be fixed. A lag on a pass is the difference between an assist and a turnover. Multiple times a game i'll set up a play and go to pass the ball and it will take a second to register, by then the player I was passing too will have ran the ball into the path of the defender.
I also feel like im fighting the game as was mentioned above.Comment
