Re: NBA 2k17 NEW BADGES WISH LIST

They should make your badges reliant on your tendency, If you change your tendency, so does your badges. I play primarily in the post with my PF and yet I am punished due to the drop in mid range success rate and the defense getting a boost contesting my post fadeaway.

They should bring back Post playmaker, Post efficiency, Catch and Shoot, Spot up badges.

C&S: player excels at catch and shoot, loses accuracy in spot up shots

    SUS: opposite of C&S

    PPM: dimer for big men

PE: higher success rates for post fadeaways and Post moves.

I also would like badges to also hinder as well, totally neutralize badges with lockdown defender badges.

Make it where PF/C can get perimeter up to bronze and gold Post, SF can have silver in both, SG can get silver perimeter and bronze post, PG can get gold perimeter. that way every position is needed instead of just 2 7'3 centers and 3 guards.

PF/C cannot get gold shot creator but up to silver, PG can only get bronze posterizer, Limitless range is exclusively for outside scoring builds. Posterizer/Acrobat Gold is only for inside scoring. Eraser gold is for PF/C, PF can get gold post hoperator, C can get gold post hook. PF can get bronze dribble, PG can get gold dribble. SF would become the true jack of all trade position, with SG being the outside/mid range option and Pf being mid range/inside option. Granted their are exceptions like Porzingis who would be all shooting badges with no post/inside badges, or DWade with more inside badges than outside. They should make the difference in scoring style big.

If they made badges have a downside to coincide with tendencies, it will make this game better.

I would be a mid range Spot Up/Post shooting PF with good inside, No 3s.

First of all, for mycareer, badges shouldn't stay forever. It should reflect how you play. If you start playing differently, your badges change. On that note, i'd like the same for attributes, maybe make it so that you get the option in the offseason to change your weaknesses and strengths.

For example for stat based badges, use "season/career average" stats instead of "season/career totals". Random example: limitless range --> 1 per game = bronze, 2 = silver, 3 = gold. Or if they want to keep using totals, have a negative counter: let's use limitless range again as an example --> make + good shot selection = +1.5, regular make = +1, make + bad SS OR miss + good SS = +0.5, regular miss = 0, miss + bad SS = -1 (unless it's with 2 or less seconds left on the shot clock then it's just 0). Half/full court shots don't factor into limitless range.

Also, i agree with the idea of making badges more exclusive. Have the aforementioned negative counter and dynamic aspect. On top of that make badges unobtainable for difficulty levels below allstar as well as the "casual" slider set. Or make it so that badges obtained at those levels are unavailable online.

      - "Box out (king)": If you box out on 75-80% (or so) of the opposing teams shots while you're on the court. Obviously you'll get a higher success rate in box out battles. Of course still keeping the related attributes in consideration, like boxout, strength, hustle, and whatever else is used.

      - A badge like lockdown defender should be based on performance in my opinion instead of your attributes, keeping your opponent below his season average while keeping minutes played into consideration. Same with bruiser for example, not just be 200+ pounds but based on how you body up the opponent combined with the strength rating. 60-74 strength = max bronze, 75-89 = max silver, 90-99 = max gold.

      - a "bruce bowen" badge: you can get away with a foul here and there. You'll need the "lockdown defender" badge as well as 90+ on ball defensive iq and defensive consistency.

      - a badge for fronting in the post and one to keep your opponent from getting position in the paint. Dennis rodman was very good at that despite his "smaller" size, so it shouldn't completely be about strength, maybe a "low post defense positioning" attribute. And then of course a counterpart for both on offense.

      - add a "verticality" badge for... well, verticality blocks and keep "eraser" for regular blocks.

      - I agree with the mentioned putback as well as catch and shoot.

Also, we need some negative badges like:

      - "turnover prone" and "foul prone", self explanatory.
      - "chucker": it takes less misses to get cold. You get it by averaging x amount of "bad shot selection". Add an "assist wizard" badge that gives you a slightly higher succes rate on passes in traffic as an extra incentive. You won't be able to get the latter while having "chucker" or "ballhog". "Ballhog" would lead to an increase in help defense iq for the opposing team. You get it by dominating the ball over 65% (or so) of the total team possession timer.
      - etc... can't really think of any other right now

I'd like finisher back because lay ups are a mess. Make a minimum requirement of 90-95 rating

Training camp should be interactive like Madden. If you don't pass the drills, you don't get the boost.

As for the drills, they should really have some sense and requirement of actuall thinking, basketball IQ rather than just randomly pressing buttons to complete drill.

Hack-A-Badge. For players that cant shoot free throws well.
Off Ball Foul badge . For players that cant shoot free throws well.
I know people hate it but its part of the game.

There should be a new badge for pick&roll defense, and a new badge for defensive rotation awareness (i.e. being a cog in team defense), since pick&roll defense and rampant defensive switching is the name of the game these days in modern NBA

EXPAND PLAYER PERSONALITY BADGES, AND THE WAY IT AFFECTS MYLEAGUE

I also think they should expand the "personalities" side of things. Right now it's very cut and dry (laid back, expressive, friendly, high work ethic, etc). Good start. We need to make a larger palette. More colour. The player personalities should affect the way they play on the court, the type of body language they exhibit in their animations in games (reacting to refs, plays, etc), how they perform in training, how they interact with their teammates and GM, how they react to stuff the GM says/does, team chemistry, how they interact with the media and how happy they are on the team.

The more compatible the personalities on the team, the the better the affect on team chemistry.

There should be either be: A) Negative badges for negative personality types, or B) a slider for personality traits. (i.e. binary "on" or "off" isn't enough).
Maybe negative badges be coloured red, orange and yellow for their varying degrees of strength. Orange and yellow might be too similar too bronze and gold, so maybe change the positive ones to grey, blue, green?? Or maybe the positive ones can have varying shadres of green, and the negative ones can have varying shades of red?

Here are some personality trait ideas (this took me about 2-3 hours to compile)...

                      Positive:
--Professional (gets the job done, coachable, disciplined... less likely to become unhappy with high training workload, less likely to be negatively affected by less minutes (both in terms of morale and development), less likely to have off-court distractions, tends to develop better and retain attributes for longer after their peak. flip side = "wild child" badge)
--Onus (a player who's willing to take accountability; takes the blame... neutralises the affects of players who blame others to varying degrees, provides boosts to team chemistry (flip side = "blame game" badge))
--Fortitude (able to handle pressure and adversity better... morale is less likely to be negatively affected by losing, poor form, high expectations, or when they are criticized/blamed by players, media, or GM... (flip side = Anxiety badge))
--Composed (Calm state of mind that isn't affected by external sources... less likely to commit fouls or make mistakes after unfavorable ref decisions, losing, or being blamed. Development is less likely to be affected by low morale. (flip side = Temper badge))
--Driven (wants to achieve success... more likely to develop better, and also more likely to have positive impact on team chemistry when wins happen, but also more likely to want to leave a lower reputation team for a higher reputation team, and also more likely to be negatively affected by trades that send away core players, or fails to sign high profile players. (flip side = Indifferent)

                      Negative:
--Wild Child (thinks others will do things for him, self-indulgent, hard to coach... responds poorly to high training workload, more likely to be negatively affected by less minutes (both in terms of morale and development), more likely to have off-court distractions, tends to develop slower and lose attributes faster)
--Blame Game (no accountability; blames and criticises to others... more likely to criticize GM in media when things are going badly which can reduce team chemistry, or blame teammates which reduces player morale)
--Anxiety (doesn't respond well to pressure and adversity... morale is more likely to be negatively affected by losing, poor form, high expectations, and being blamed)
--Temper (ego problem, becomes angered and loses discipline... more likely to commit fouls or make mistakes after unfavorable ref decisions, when losing, or when being blamed... development is more likely to be negatively affected by poor morale)
--Indifferent (not as driven/motivated by success... less likely to develop better, and less likely to have positive impact on team chemistry when wins happen, less likely to be affected by trades, less likely to want to leave for higher reputation team)

                      Neutral:
--Self-orientated (respects himself, confidence player... morale is more affected by his own form, rather than team results... more likely to sign with a team who will give him playing time)
--Team-orientated (respects authority, buys in to the team... morale is more affected by winning and losing, rather than his own form... more likely to sign for a winning team)
                      ^ note: can't be both

                        "Shoot Over"...

Ability that some players have to shoot over the defender so the impact of the defense on that shooter is less than normal.

                          Making badges dynamic/finite.

They should be tailored to how you play, if you dont regularly use the skills thats required to get them, the badges go away

I would like the personality badges to actually mean something. Doesn't seem like most of them really do much.
