A6, I understand this is an objective thread and it's mute to argue objective information re attribute cielings. My curisoity compels me to ask you, What experience do you have with My Player builds - what 99 My Player builds have you actually played with?

All of them that are good.

There's the small pg: 6ft PG that can dribble and shoot. Used to be able to speed boost.

There's the 6'7 PG: which is the best player in 2k, it can do everything.

It's objective fact < 80 ball control you are useless unless you sit in a corner. That's why you can't be any other position other than PG.

Unless you're a SF, where you're regulated to Korver Status.

There's the 6'9 outside SF that plays the 3 in the park.

and the 7'3 Outside and the 7'3 Inside Centers.

I asked you what builds you have experience with and you respond, "all of them that are good." Well, so much for furthering the credibility in these discussions but I'll give this a rest as it seems you'd rather not get into "experience" and "results" and would prefer to tow the line of objective fact in numbers and information of data supplied to us.

Ok, there are some points in the othee lines that can be argued because now you're simply toting your own opinion.

First, under < 80 ball control = useless player who sits in a corner? This is not an objective fact - this is you're pure opinion. You can't correlate numbers with performance based on you're own assumptions that appease your position.

I achieved a 16 game win streak 🔥 using my 6ft7 SF at PG in Park. My teammates were a PF and a C. One of them was a Balanced player, the other an Outside build.

From experience I can also argue your opinion that SF is boxed in as a Kyle Korver. I have highlight evidence that would support otherwise. My SF has the Posterizer badge and is quote capable of getting to the rim and finishing strong.

What you're also not taking account for is matchups. Playing the 3 as a SF or SG, you're matched up against mostly bigs 50 - 75% of the time at least. This means you do have an advantage to beat a fellow SF or SG or a big especially if this matchup doesn't have maxed out defense. In effect, you're also not considering the average users defensive ability which is not impressive.

You also should consider that ratings do not play the game for the user . The user must still give their input. Many users using PGs with elite handles still show otherwise with their poor understanding of how to dribble effectively. Then there is the user who is knowledgeable of how to dribble effectively and can afford to do so without elite ratings on his characters handles.

I personally use my Outside SF as a capable All-around Player even with 4 bars on Inside. I can finesse my way into the paint and finish with a hop step layup or a decent driving layup of the paint is unprotected. I can drive and kick. I can drive and posterize someone in In a vulnerable position in the paint. Should I need to create a shot for myself: I'm also capable of doing this - the Stepback and Snatchback jumpers are my signature moves. It doesn't matter who is defending me. I will get this move to go 9 in 10 times. It doesn't translate to a make 9 in 10 times but the separation is achieved. Only one player in over 300 games has been able to effectively and consistently keep with me on this move.

At this point, I could go and share highlights that give credibility to the all-around potential in a Balanced SG and Outside SF. I find you to be stubbornly against anything that otherwise supports user skill opposed to objective information. You know how many teams and players have looked good on paper and failed to perform to their expectations? Then there are the tiers of teams and individuals who exceed the expectations and potential suggested by their numbers on paper for physical prowess and ability.

At this point you are coming across to me as as bigot and not much can be achieved when conversing with one such as yourself - I cannot... you can stay in your hard shell and hide behind this objective numbers that give you security. I would expect everyone to feel justified in using whatever build they desire so long as they prove they can achieve the results they are striving for and they can competently contribute to the successful operation of their team.

      Team A 3x 6ft7 PG - average height is 6ft7

      Team B 6ft6 SG, 6ft PG, 7ft1 C - average height is 6.56

Each team will have inherent advantages and I don't know how you can consider a clear winner without knowing how each team will play strategy wise. This is a beauty within the game to me. You can find success with a combination of different builds based on strategy.

Re: Meta MyPlayer Creation Guide [OC]

Here are highlights from Father's Day.

Not one of these moves requires me to have a base ball control rating of 80 let alone be a PG.

        6ft7 260 Outside SF

        Snatchback 3

        Snatch n go #2

Behind the back to the rim

        http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/mistahanz/video/18777385

I don't know what impression in these short clips would give the suggestion that I'm simply a dude in the corner waiting for a catch and shoot opportunity.

These highlights a just drops in the bucket. I didn't even showcase any use of sizeup dribbles. I didn't show any highlights of me beating a Gaurd off the first step / jab from a triple threat positing.

Prior to Patch 6 the popular belief and social media promotion was that you need a certain ball control rating to speed boost. It was suggested that you need at least 86 on ball control and would need to be a 6ft6 or shorter PG unless you played for Sunset in which case you could use a 6ft7 PG.

The post speed boost Era has put more emphasis on using right stick dribbles and hop step crosses. The post speed boost Era has also made it more difficult on defense to turn the hips laterally in Patch 6 which is a bit of a balancing effect for competition.

Prior to Patch 6 the 6ft7 PG was definitely more powerful but in Patch 6 this characters dominance has been watered down. At any random moment you could simply lose your dribble regardless of amount of defensive pressure applied or amount of dribbling applied (overuse).

Originally, I was of the impression that you meant well with this post but now I see it more as just a grasping at the straws bit. An opportunity to show some level of pundit knowledge on meta caps that would further a push for a bigger agenda. This community is not about buying into meta builds - we are the people capable of breaking these "cheesy" molds and breaking new ground for authenticity and showing you can have a 6ft6 balanced SG who mimics Kobe -- caps and all.

I freaking love playing with my 6'8 SG balanced. He's everything I wanted my SF to be. He can bang on the inside, excellent defender , capable shooter, decent rebounder , and good passer.

Re: Meta MyPlayer Creation Guide [OC]

            I'm confused.

Why is dribbling so important again?

I've actually been running my 6'8 inside 2 guard as a point in Pro Am. Idk how they determine that, because my playmaking isn't really high. My secondary position is PG tho in my career and I average a triple double.
            Maybe it's my badges..who knows.

Not everything has to be videogame or 2K style basketball. I know my limits so I bring the ball up holding LT. I have gold post spin so if someone gets too aggressive I'm at the rim with every offensive badge and superior dunking/finishing.

Defensively I have like 10 points slower speed than a quick guard..but at the same time that's never really been a problem...

At the end of the day stick skills trump all. I'll cross any point guard up just by using timing I don't need the stats up.

And I have a 90 overall 6'7 point guard too...he just doesn't play as good as my SG. For all the "weaknesses" he has, his strengths play more to my style of basketball.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

What strengths? Your stick skills? Yes.

              On your actual character? Nothing.

That's the entire point of this post.

What strength does your SG have that your PG doesn't?

So we are going with 15 points in post hook or 5 points in post control are magical and make the player amazing.

                      Edit: The shooting guard?

You can go 20 playmaking/20 inside. enjoy getting stripped and not going anywhere when you dribble. (70 ball control, 75 speed)

Or, 20 Shooting/0 Inside/20 Rebounding. (if this the case, make a 6'8 SF with Gold Post-Lockdown)

                      I implore you.

MAKE THE POINT GUARD! It's SO MUCH BETTER. YOU WILL ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO DRIBBLE.

6'7 inside PG with 0 shooting and 20 rebounding.

or 6'7 Balanced PG with 20 shooting/0 rebounding.

Rebounding last on the inside pg.

Inside goes last on the balanced.

for what I need yes lol . And on top of that you can't be a 6'8 point guard in this game .

Point guards are definitely the best builds overall next to the center in this game though.

Never felt like unable to dribble with 71 ball control on my sf in both park and pro am. Speed boost was OP move thus making pg best at scoring, but since its gone this attribute not such high value anymore.

Don't insist on telling that sg/sf useless if its just your preference to play pg.

                            Just my two cents..

i think the meta guide provided by OP is GREAT if youre starting out or looking for some help. But if youre an experienced player with decent to good stick skills make whatever build you want.

I have 6 myplayers, and love using them all in both park and pro am but i started with meta builds and branched out. However i have more "fun" using my non meta builds.

I took advantage of the 40% off Attribute sale and built a... 6ft3... BALANCED... SG 😆

I'm gonna put rebounding up on him because he's about 6ft7, at least, in the Coyote mascot.

I have him up to an 88 and he feels great. Definitely have to upgrade his playmaker though because he's losing the ball too easily on 13 bars.
