For instance, MJ wasnt perfect in '16 by any stretch, but he wasnt as bad as the pic in the OP

same with Drexler, hes actually one of the better done legends...

Like I said though, in general- the legends in the game could still use a bit more attention....just providing some context.

Pretty sure that's a mod. That is not the generic Mike in 2K16.

Edit: Or, that's just the perfect angle. The 2K16 Mike is very suspect.

Nah, thats straight fom my PS4 man....

Didn't do anything special with the angle...just took a quick shot.

Seems like if he's not in action or neutral faced he just starts looking weirder and weirder. Random shots- some good (imo) and some bad....the cross eyes thing is def in effect

I just wanna go ballistic on 2K's art department, but I really like this place and I do not wanna get banned. I'll just say that they lack pride in their work, and attention to detail. It's rather sad, to be honest.

Wasn't he the cover athlete for 16? 🤔 I mean you'd think that the cover athlete would look the most like themselves. He's decent but he could be so much better

They haven't had him right since the ps3 days.

Seeing as we've pressed on to the new, more powerful generation of consoles, there should be no reason why we shouldn't be seeing IMPROVEMENTS in the appearances, not downgrades, which are blatantly evident.

As mentioned several times now, 2k should outsource the legends art work to pc modders - they'd do a stand up job, judging on some of the stuff I've seen from them.

The GOAT doesn’t look so great.

NBA 2K is one of the most popular video games on the market, and 2K17 is sure to be even better thanks to the borderline cheat code that will be the Golden State Warriors. But a couple days ago, the makers of the game unveiled a special treat when they announced 2K17 will feature the 1992 United States of America Basketball Team, a.k.a. the "Dream Team." The game's makers re-created the iconic team photo in the game and tweeted it out.

Instantly, people took notice that some of the players didn't get the proper graphic treatment one would hope for from a video game in 2016. Several pointed out that 2K17 Larry Bird looks a lot like actor/podcaster Michael Rapaport, who went on ESPN's SportsNation to talk about the incident.

But most notably, people noticed that Michael Jordan himself looked less than great. In fact, when you zoom in, it's easy to see that whatever this digitally created man is, it basically looks nothing like MJ. His eyes are crossed and his ears are giant. Does someone at 2K Sports have a beef with his Airness? In recent years it seems like Michael Jordan, crying or not, just can't catch a break. At least he's still got his jump shot.

This is the reason I don't play with the Legends. Some look decent and other just look jacked up. Having MJ look that bad is a little crazy to me. 2K definitely needs to hire some new 3D artists.

Larry Bird is just flat out disgraceful. 2K finds it impossible to incorporate any kind of system that generates decent looking white guys, unless they're actually scanned in.

I'd agree, but the sad thing is, they got Christian Laettner spot on.

Just to go against the grain a little bit here, it seems 2k's biggest problem with the classic players is they don't look as good as last gens versions, I think we can all agree on that, but I ask the ones who feel like they totally dropped the ball on the current gen classic players, would you rather what we have now or nothing at all?

I ask this because I guarantee most of us would be a lot easier on 2k if they just started this classic teams and players thing in 2k14 on current gen instead of 2k11, the main thing we would say is I am just glad its in the game and since they cant scan their faces I understand, but what keeps the conversation going is the 2k11 and 2k12 versions of the classic players that looked so good.

I guess I am just glad 2k didn't say that the classic players don't look up to par with what we had last gen so lets just scrap the whole thing and hopefully the customers will understand, because they could have gone that route.

Most totally agree and it;s something I've said repeatedly. As unhappy as I am with the overall effort that's clearly been lacking in regards to the legends and their appearance/signature styles etc, I would rather have what we see now, than nothing at all.

I'm eternally grateful to 2k for even giving us this opportunity to use such incredible teams from yesteryear.

That said, as consumers, we shouldn't automatically give them a pass on this kind of thing. The legends have been visually lackluster since last gen, they've had 3 years to improve them so far, and we've not really seen much in that department.

I dunno, feels like we're damned if we give out constructive criticism, and damned if we don't.
