Re: NBA 2K17 Video - Gameplay From Gamescom (Gento)
overthinking KD sliding and bumping off LBJ running at high speed? Lebron james isnt going to plow into you. in 13 years, thats not what he does. he's going to evade you. you can TRY force him off course. kevin durant bump him to completely stop his momentum dead? nah bro.
Believe it...I hope it stays in. But many will complain cause they won't know what to do...Anyone barreling down the court out of control and gets stopped 3 things will happen...charge or block/pick up dribble to protect the ball/turn the ball over due lack of control.
I think you're trying to break down the whole Lebron against (insert player)..as he's driving...the video shows him a bit off balance before he gets bumped. It looks authenticComment

i dont think just anybody can come barrel down on the defense. i dont think kyle lowry or rudy gay should just run down and get past guys. but one has consistently done it for as long as he's been in the league. and the scenario i presented earlier is literally how teams defend him in real life. 2K's blanket defending is concerning as it doesnt really pertain to every nba player that way in real life......with that said, it was still only one 10 sec clip and we need to see more scenarios played out before definitively saying its 100% good or bad.Comment

I have no problem with the bump animation, physical play happens just rewatch the 2k16 finals..
In my eyes the problem is KD forcing LBJ to pick up his dribble. The best player in the game isn't picking up his dribble because someone stopped him from driving.Comment

You're speaking in hypotheticals. So you're saying Lebron is a ballhog and has an ego problem? LOL..can't believe I'm breaking this down so much

I wish 2K would get on ball defense correct for once. The fact that KD was able to stop Lebron in his tracks is terrifying. That is simply not how on ball d works in the NBA. You're not going to just completely stop good rim attacker from getting to the cup in reality. Either a charge, block or hip riding will occur (most times hip riding) and that's it. Only elite defenders can some times lock up a player enough to completely take away his path to the basket. And even then it doesn't happen often. Defense is and always has been about the help D. Your defense is only as good as the guys behind you. Maybe i'm taking this to serious. Otherwise the game looks great.Comment

basically you just can't bowl your way in but that doesnt mean you just completely stop in your tracks... but i know that was put in years ago as a solution to some other problemComment

The panic is already setting in...

what's sad is 2k knew this would happen. they knew someone would post a phone video, instead of giving us a trailer or gameplay they would rather this come out. they basically let people market for them. it's really sad. this tactic is a shame. does it work, a little I guess, but you should be the first one to show videos, not your fans.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Video - Gameplay From Gamescom (Gento)
but see....thats just not real basketball.
if lebron james is running at you like that, one does not simply bump him off(especially not KD). His freight train reputation was earned. What one would expect to happen is a couple things.....
1)KD bodies up and gets a foul as thats really the only outcome for trying to stop a running Lebron...when you're a mediocre defender like KD.
or
2) KD gives up the lane but stays on his hip, lebron gets to the lane, Draymond collapses and then 1)lebron forces a layup over 2 guys or 2) passes to an open man bc of the draymond collapse and subsequent switching.
this footage isnt enough to really see anything of how the game actually plays all of these situations out.....but that bump was concerning bc it just isnt realistic at the end of the day(for this scenario).
So you would rather somebody just turbo down the court with LeBron every play?

Re: NBA 2K17 Video - Gameplay From Gamescom (Gento)
Not every play but if LeBron is driving to the rim he shouldn't be able to be bumped to a halt. If you want to stop it pack the paint with zone defenders like in real life. Make him a jumpshooter.Comment
