I always find that allstar/sim plays great with my style of play. I'm able to get really good games a lot of times. Anything higher than allstar, the CPU gets too many unrealistic speed boots for my liking. Just my opinion.

If the other teams has great bigs:
Pace style offense with Pick n Roll / Get to the Basket

If they have great wings defenders
Extended Motion with Pick n Roll / Feed the Post

          All around great teams
          Hawks / Feed the Post

Has really helped keep my offense going against the AI's boosted defense

I will crank it up to Hall of Fame once I get the game. Anything lower than that shows weakness. I have been playing 2K since 2K1; by now I don't think I should start on Rookie/Pro anymore.
            Concrete evidence/videos please

Hall of Fame/Default (until I find a nice set of sliders to use)

                or

                Superstar/Sim

Both are fun in their own ways and both are fair,if your are not playing on a completely trash team. If not..Expect to see a lot of BS,especially on hall of fame.

I haven't played on Rookie or Pro since I was a little kid..Can't go back to those difficulties. Way too easy for me.

I'm usually looking for Superstar sliders but my default would be Superstar/Sim. First 5-10 games I play All-Star/Sim, afterwards it just gets to easy for me.

HoF with sliders seems to work best for me

In non-sliders modes I will probably play with SS/Sim, but its been so long since I touched MyCareer that I don't even know

I'd prefer All star but CPU awareness is too low even if you raise the slider to 100. So probably SS with a lot of edits.

I've been playing since the original 2K on dreamcast. I know exactly what you mean. I find the game to be easy even on Hall of Fame, but im also a major sim head having played basketball my whole life (high school and college) and HOF breaks realistic/immersion far to much for my liking. So i go down to all star with sliders offline and just play that way. It's still easy. But at least it's not cheesy.

NBA 2K16 was a toss up. I like All-Star/SIM but I switched back and forth with SS/SIM, but ended up on All-Star.

NBA 2K17 will be exclusively SS/SIM because I am going to play PNO after I finish my MyLeague because I do multiple seasons. PNO is SS/SIM I would think, so I want to master this difficulty. I probably won't change difficulties again and stick with Superstar from now and beyond. I will never play on HOF. I don't give a damn about bragging rights. It's silly to play on HOF and then see people complain about it constantly. No duh, it's HOF lol. It's supposed to be that way.

Superstar/Simulation for me from 2K17 and on.

                              SS sim/SS casual.... 8min quarters I think.
I usually adjust the minutes so my team averages around 95-100pts, so the stats have a more realistic feel.

SS/Sim with slider tweaks. Hopefully 2K17 I wont need to tweak sliders. NBA 2K11 SS/Sim was the only time I didn't have to touch any sliders.
