EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -

Re: Historic Teams will be DLC
Depends on what these teams look like and if we'll have the ability to have full control over these teams (MyLeague use and editing in the roster creator), that will determine whether I buy these.
Now if they decide they wanna start dropping classic NBA teams and/or the ability to have access to a legends pool of some sort with every player they have rights to, well they can just go ahead and take every dime I have.Link to my NBA 2K13 2010-2011 Roster:

Re: Historic Teams DLC
Love how so many act like business gurus applauding 2k for bringing in more 'profitable endeavors'.
**** DLC. It's always been a dumb cash grab from any game. **** em no need to be nice. DLC isn't them being nice.
I hope this means they've been detailing historic teams better though

Re: Historic Teams will be DLC
Really annoyed with this. This isn't college hoops. It's the NBA. SHould be getting classic NBA teams, not college ones.
Oh well, another year of disappointment.-----------------------------------------

Re: Historic Teams will be DLC
I am fine with downloadable content if it means we get accurate classic college teams with accurate college player models of Iverson, Melo, Ewing, Kyrie for example. That is what I'm hoping for. Also hoping they would be available in the actual game for use in play now and Roster editing. That would be fantastic for me. Also hoping that it's specific classic teams like the 96 Hoyas for example and not just an all time Georgetown team, to me that would be a disappointment.Comment

Re: Historic Teams will be DLC
I have a suspicion these collegiate DLC teams are testing the water to see if a college basketball 2k game would be profitable.
If they make a ton of cash on just these all time teams, then they might consider it.
Just my opinion though. I'll be getting the Kansas DLC if they have one.
Ok wow.Last edited by BA2929; 08-26-2016, 03:52 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: Historic Teams will be DLC
So if I had to guess, it's going to be squads stemming from the universities shown in the trailer today, like an All-Michigan State team with Magic Johnson, Steve Smith, Jason Richardson, Zach Randolph, and maybe some guys who didn't have 2K rights prior like Shawn Respert and Greg Kelser. (P.S. Would be an extra bummer for me if that's how it works, as I'm a University of Michigan guy, a college that appears to have been replaced by MSU this year.)
I still think we need to be careful what we ask for. If enough folks state they'll pay for stuff that they've previously received as part of the game's original sticker price, I reckon 2K will oblige you. If DLC is truly an add-on and a sort of separate entity (like the 3-on-3 DLC in New York for 2K12), I can better understand a charge there. However, if this is a business taking something that easily could have just been included initially and separating it to cash out, I don't think that should be encouraged so readily.Last edited by VDusen04; 08-26-2016, 05:51 PM.Comment
