Re: The 2k player's continuous strive for perfection.

I'm not a 2K apologist. I call it how I see it. And even when 2K drops the ball on something I don't think it was due to a lack of effort. I see many gaming companies do a bit of coasting from year to year. At least with this group of Devs we've had for a couple years, I don't see that at all. I see a group of guys trying to make the game great. Sometimes something works, sometimes it doesn't. I personally feel Leftos and his team added more things to a franchise type mode than ever before in any sports game ever.

My point is I appreciate 2K and give them the benefit of the doubt, not because I'm some fanboy but because they seem to go above and beyond and are never complacent. That's rare in today's industry in my opinion. I still have plenty of gripes but I think we all need to look at the whole picture and constructively criticize as well as give credit when it's due.

With a short dev cycle now that's impressive I didn't even mention Mycareer, Presentation, Myleague and Myteam.

NBA2k each year probably adds and improves more than any other sports game on the market. Yes, at times, they way they do things can get annoying, like adding in what they call new features, when they arent actually new features because once upon a time they were in the game, but usually when they come back they are improved a great deal.

Only gripe Ive ever had with NBA2k is the lack of them fixing simulated stats in MyLeague,GM each year. Last year we did see improvement finally, but still need worked on. Other than that they do a great job each year putting out a very good game.

I think when you look back at how far they have improved from say NBA2k12, to last year, its been a great deal, an more than I would say any other sports game made. MLBTS as good as it is each yr, except it seems they drop the ball some this past year, and 1 reason why I ended up not getting it, which was a 1st for me with that game, dont improve yearly as much as NBA2k has in recent years.

I use to put MLBTS at the top, basically the Jordan of sports video games, but last year with NBA2k16 past them up by a good margin. Going by the looks of things NBA2k17 is going to be even quite a bit better than 16 was. Obviously until we actually get to play it, and once all the patches get done we will know for sure, so right now all we have to go by is what they have showed, which is quite a lot, especially for a shot development cycle. Being such a short cycle does worry some that the game might have game breaking bugs that we wont see fixed until next year, but Im going to take that risk once again, and hope that doesnt happen. If the game improvements work as intended, NBA2k17 should be the best game to date of not just NBA2k, but any sports game.

Well, you know what I mean. Basically anyone that works on the game catches heat.
