Many people have subpar connections as well everyone in their entire family on the net at the same time watching Netflix, YouTube and everything else while they are not only trying to play but stream as well. Not much 2K can do about someone overloading their connection.

My son has played a ton of Battlefield and experienced lag there so it's not immune from it.

I've played a ton of 12 minute quarter games of NBA2K and lag does happen from time to time but it isn't a huge problem.

I tend to experience more lag in the games against people I don't know.

That's not to say that 2K doesn't have issues with online though. I experience lag here and there and disconnects happen more than they should and it could of course be better.

But whether it was 2K or the person getting beat getting ticked and quitting and just blaming it on 2K servers is debatable sometimes.

People quitting because they don't want to lose is more of a problem in 2K than lag.

Of course, we all have a different game experience, especially online. And from what i am experiencing, i cannot agree with the this post in it's entirety.

Online input-lag in 2k16 is much much worse for me than in any other game. So, comparing different games on the same internet connection, it leads me to believe that there's something not working right with 2K-servers for me. And it's well documented, especially in Europe where I live. No-one else uses the internet in my house when I play, i even cut off all my devices (iPhone, iPad, ...) to make it as almost bareble as possible, so that's not a factor. I've tried everything and then some on my end (different providers, different router, different wiring, different settings, ...).
2K really needs to make this a point of emphasis if they want to get my VC-earnings.

Compared to the input-lag I have online, quitting is an absolute and utter non-issue for me. Again, we all have a different experience, especially compared globally.

It's valuable if people come in and tell us their experience is fine, but please don't spoil this thread with notions like: "Nah, YOU'RE doing something wrong, it's absolutely fine FOR ME. Not 2ks fault."

I can't tell you how glad i am, this topic has it's own thread now.
    About time!

See, this is what i mean.

So, there is no problem, because YOU don't have the problem. There's no starvation in the world, because YOU have plenty of food? Is this the reasoning here...?

This. Is. An. Issue. For a lot of people. Please do not kill this thread.

Look, you might not know this, but there's people outside the USA. Honestly, there is. Not all of them are fluent in english, only a small part will come here to follow OS. So, how would you know, from looking at some forum in english, how many people, especially in Europe, are having this issue?

Maybe instead of blaming 2k for your lag issues you guys need to upgrade your internet speeds.

And as far as the battlefield 1 Server comparison goes.. that experience isn't even near perfect. The menus lag crazy while you're in a game.

Gee, thanks, i wouldn't have thought about this. So THAT's why all my other games are also so laggy online! Wait, ... they aren't. I'm confused. Please enlighten me with another post. I need your help. smh

Sorry for beeing so sarcastic. But these kind of posts are killing me. Maybe we all can try and be more constructive.

            So, something more constructive.

I've noticed that the input lag, this "running through mud", "walking underwater" kind of slowed down online-experience has gotten worse for me about a few weeks ago. No idea what changed. Nothing on my end (that i can control). Since then there is a very noticable difference concerning how many people are involved in the game: 2vs2 is a lot better than 3vs3. 3vs3 is almost not playable since then for me, as bad as it's been in 2k16.

Pro-AM has always been the worst (because of 5vs5?) since I don't have my own team, so I can only talk walk-on-mode or playing on a friend's team. Either way, my PS4 is not hosting the game. (I think i read somewhere that in Pro-AM team play, the team-owner's PS4 is hosting the game. This might be wrong though, but the reason for me putting it this way.)

I've played yesterday evening (german time) and it was bad. I asked an online friend, like i always do, and he said it was fine for him (and he looked fine on the court). He knew what i meant, but those games where fine for him. This has played out before like this. So, I really don't think it's as easy as: If one guy has a rubbish internet connection, it will be bad for all players. This clearly wasn't the case. Alot of times. It must be a factor, but it's not quite that simple.

Anyone of the guys who have this: Is this the same for you (BIG difference between 2vs2 and 3vs3 in the park)?
And: Does anyone know more about how the connections work, the technical side, when entering a court and a game starts? What happens technically? What connections are established and how?

everyone that compains usually has extremely subpar internet or is using wifi. I have great internet and have no lag or delay on proam and park. This proves its less on 2k's end and more on the users end. STOP PLAYING ON WIFI ffs.

I'm sorry, but those of you who are blaming this on player connection don't have a clue...

There's a big difference in player shooting timings between offline and online no matter how fast your connection is. Also, it can be felt in the overall response and fluidity.

How would you explain a player with a 100MB connection affected by delayed response?

How can you explain me hitting greens all day and playing lockdown D against dribble spammers in the Pro Am while im STREAMING to twitch and using netflix. I have google fiber. Ive had **** internet and great internet during the same week playing on 2k. It 1000% makes a difference. Also i know a ton of 2k players dont understand TV INPUT lag and they play on giant living room tv's. Those will always make a game feel sluggish compared to a monitor with 1-5 ms response time which I have always used.

                    Possible explanations:

                    1) Different servers or systems for Pro-AM and regular games
                    2) Are you in the US? I'm not.

Actually, I'm quite sure that the experience is different with Pro-Am and regular games.

If you starting downloading/streaming in your network, you'll cause the other player to have lag in a regular game, not in Pro-Am.

                    I'm 90% complaining about games, I don't play Pro-Am that much.

We're not trying to explain why it works out for you. We're trying to understand why this is not the case for many others.

And, of course, the internet connection makes a difference. But that's not the only factor here. It simply doesn't boil down to it.

If you play other games online on the same TV or monitor or beamer, same internet connection, and so on, and those are absolutely fine, then it's quite hard to blame the hardware setup for one game not working, isn't it?

We've moved past these things in this post. So I thought.

                        Frankly, this proves nothing.

Also, we already had other posts from people with excellent internet connection in terms of bandwith who are also having severe issues. Please stop telling us what WE see and experience or not. And who uses wifi to play online...? At least when you're having issues, this would be the first thing to change.

what do you mean "games"? Quick Match? I have no lag on that either. What is your connection? What tv are you using? Do you know your response time on your tv? Are you using wifi?

Yeah I meant matches or online league games.

My connection was 100MB during the year and I was using cable. I use a gaming monitor with little latency.

And still, shot timings were quite different than offline and varied on game to game basis (it depended a lot on the network that your opponent used).

It really makes the whole game a mess.

Your comparing 2k to a BETA. With one map...only meant to be used online in multiplayer.

And, uh, NEWS FLASH...BF1 BETA had SERIOUS problems at launch. Like, 1000s of people making THE SAME EXACT COMPLAINT POST AS YOU ARE ABOUT 2k.

BF4 online DIDN'T WORK FOR A MONTH after release

                                So what is your point?

I swear, 2k makes people have amnesia of how other games have problems...
