Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
We pick up at Half court when we're playing against any type of shooters. If you have a sharpshooter or stretch big you're going to have to beat someone off the dribble to score. I have a 6'6 Point Forward with max rebounding. I almost always guard PG's that's 6'2-6'3ish so getting rebounds is not a problem at all if the big has to play the perimeter. It's all about making the proper adjustments. Stretch Bigs can only do one thing and if you take it away from them it's game over.
My guys speed and lateral quickness just aren't good enough to be able to fully defend this every possession. It's not like I always get torched but at the same time, even one or two threes can be the entire difference in a Park game and sometimes my guy will be a second off in going one way that turning him back to try and guard that three will lead to him just being a second late defending and it goes in. Or if there's another teammate nearby guarding his man, the game seems to like to throw me off sometimes in getting sucked in to the other man instead of my own leading to me having to try and catch up to the shooter which leads to a 3. 2K16 was by no means perfect but I at least had enough speed at 60 some and lateral quickness which I believe was in the 50's or maybe 60's, that I was able to keep up with shooting bigs and even some SFs for the most part if they did the same thing all game.
I have been planning to make another position at some point but I've heard of some of the issues that doing that creates in terms of MyCareer and some other aspects so I don't even want to try and do that in the event it makes for a buggy experience. If I do eventually, has anyone experimented with a SF glass cleaner? I feel like that or lockdown defender would be the best bets to be able to have the speed/defense to keep up with those bigs and also be able to rush in and grab the rebounds afterwards.Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
No shots at you but shouldn't this be a realistic consequence of playing small ball? I'm sure you're shooting the lights out on the other end and running in circles around him.
On his end if he should get the ball with good position on you he should be dominating you. Have a teammate come double. Can't play small ball and also defend the post against a skilled big.

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)
Late contest on laups matter too much.
Random blocks doing pumpfakes.
Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.Comment

Originally posted by boxlogothis is an honest concern... is their any reason my LDD went from glue to butter? Lmao ofcourse id get beat every once inawhile but i cant stick to anyone now to save my life... i was better when i was a 55ovr but now that i got higher defense than everybody at the park yet im worse? am i missing something here? truly confused as to why im pretty much useless now haha you can pretty much run laps around me, my slasher plays better D and his defense is waaaaay below my LDD let alone the wingspan differential
I'm not sure which stat does it, but you start to gain more "control" of your player the better you get... it stops pulling you so much.
It could also be that others are getting better attributes too, so they aren't as susceptible to your invisible forcefield/magnet thing.Comment

Ah. I agree that in general, bad dribbling and speed boosting are being rewarded a bit too much.

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
The thing that annoys me about the stretch bigs is how they can still be a presence in the paint. If they max everything out (height, length, etc.) they can still have an effective post game, and with patience defensively they can still be a solid all around player.
What annoys me as a Center, is when I have to go out of the paint as well and defend the guy, and I can lock him up, but he'll still slip by after spamming moves and because I don't have the recovery speed he'll get an easy dunk or layup. I can deal with the shooting. If you contest you'll more often than not force a miss - and I can accept a sharpshooter hitting a shot in my face every once in a while, but they have no business having the speed and ball control to dribble like they do in conjunction with still having the ability to be a presence in the post offensively and defensively.
I thought I would be able to push the Stretch bigs around more but you can't. I'll admit that my post scorer's move work most effectively on stretch bigs (in isolation) but it means very little considering the foul situation and how easy it is to peel an offensive player posted up.
Frustrating archetype to deal with, but I'd say only 1 or 2 of every 10 guys is actually talented enough to pull off the cheesiest moves.Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
This mode is not fun when you have no good people to play with. Just lost 3 in a row with randoms. Still stuck on pro 5 because I can't find decent players.Last edited by Imbackandimbetter; 10-21-2016, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
If you abuse dribbles though your character will fatigue and lose his burst to the rim. It will also drop his scoring chances on jumpers.
You need Iron Man and Tireless Scorer to counteract the fatigue rates albeit this won't make you unstoppable.
You say too quick but defense is slower in 17. Just how they balanced things. Anyhow, np if you want to promote for the dribbling to be nurfed. It's your product as much as its mine.
I actually have a tougher time stopping the basic left right tactics of Sharpshooter Than I do the dribbling exploits of a Playmaker/Point Forward or Slasher or Shot Creator lol

NBA 2k17 - MyPark
The Park is pretty much Cheese Ville with all the Stretch PF's... They really need to enhance the weaknesses of these Archetypes.. If you play with all Stretch PFs they shouldnt be able to guard PG's and SG's at all. They even over did this in MY Career. As a 95 Rated PG theres no way every Big in the League can stay in front of a PG. I know they want to make the game tougher but the thing is make it realistic as well. I played Basketball as a PG and I wish I got a switch on a PF or C in a pick and Roll situation... BBQ CHICKEN.
I agree w/ weaknesses needs to be enhanced mainly for SS's. They can still dribble and dunk like crazy in the right position. I don't mind the dunking that much but it seems their speed and dribbling rating doesn't matter because they can do everything I can and be effective with it. Same w/ the big SS's. They are still a presence down low. It would be a lot less SS's if they wasn't fast and most importantly it wasn't any moving screens all over the place.

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
Yo,
me and my friend are tired of playing with randoms, so we're looking for a good playmaker/point forward for playing 3vs3 (Sunset Beach). He's a 7'0 stretch big and I'm a 6'1 sharpshooter. We both are Allstar 3 (legend 3 in 2k16) with a 4-1 win/loss ratio, but it would be way better with a good teammate.
U should know how to dribble and be able to create ur own shot, but we definitely wanna play smart team basketball with good ball movement. Also u should be a good defender and have a similar (or better) win/loss ratio like us.
A couple of days ago we played with a random Allstar 4 Point Forward and we were 33-1. We're definitely know how to play, just need a third guy.
If u wanna play just send me a message with ur stats and gamer tagComment
