Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
highlights from my 4 game win streak at Mypark last night with my 6'8" 270lb SF Slasher
I usually don't get runs like this, it depends on the random teammates you get.
If they play good defense and team D, then it will be good.
Since I had a 6'9" LDD PF modelled after Rodman on my team, I knew he should be able to play decent to good defense, even though there was a 66 rated and short slasher on my team. The LDD was splashing open mid range shots, when I passed to him with my bronze dimer badge.
I did a boost, so ratings are 5 higher, well should be. But when I check on my player card at Mypark, it looks no different. I assume it's working for all these games, but who knows.
I have a rebound rating of 63, and yet I grab some boards before that 6'9" LDD PF on my team can get them. Hustler rebound badge and max wingspan helps.
0:35 reverse layup dunk never had this one blocked but the 2 hands version is sometimes blocked.
2:12 switch hands dunk, it is pretty damn fast
2:48 and 5:35 - I think my 74 strength allowed me to bull my way to the rim there. I could feel the body contact on the drive.
3:06 Check out the move - one way to get rid of chase down blockers
4:07 deep 3 off the dribble!
4:20 easy green off the dribble mid range, these happen a lot for me, even with a 75 off the dribble rating
6:00 how I shoot my off the dribble corner 3s, it's off the top part of the corner zone.
7:15 standing fade 3, it counts as a moving 3. I think this is the most accurate of the moving 3 shot types, but hard to get the release right. Nowhere near green release, but I splash it
---
So if I'm hitting so many green releases moving mids, and splashing 3s off the dribble with my Slasher, and at at 75 rating, or 80 boosted, with bronze Difficult Shots badge, it's so efficient to not put any points in standing mid and 3.
That's why my Slasher is hard to guard. Most people tend to sag off a Slasher, thinking they can't shoot, but you can't with me because I'm going to splash mids and 3s on you!
You have to guard my tendency to drive and dunk on you, but I can also euro step, floater, spin layup, hop step, semi post into a layup on the way there.
But at any time I can pullup for a moving jumper, fade, hop step into a jump, hop step fake, and then continue driving to the hoop, or hop step fake and then side hop into a jumper. And any combos of hop steps, fades and stepbacks etc
I want to eventually make a 6'7" SG Slasher for the HOF acrobat badge, but I think a 6'6" SG Shot Creator beckons...
I can't even imagine having a 90-95 close and moving mid and 3, and HOF Difficult Shots badge, of the Shot Creator!!!Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
I'd like to hear some of yall thoughts on a few discussion points re; camera modes and X2 Rep weekend.
1. Broadcast Camera - anyone using this camera in Park or Pro Am?
I start using it in Pro Am and now I'm having a better experience in Park with it too. It's tough using it in Pro Am though. I'm going to look into editing the camera zoom and height to make it more compatible in Pro Am. I'm having an easier time driving and defending overall but it can be tough finding positioning in the paint on defense to defend a cut to the rim. I feel like the game runs better on this camera mode both in career and online.
2. Rep x2 - are yall finding more efficiency using Park or Walk On?
I'm slightly leaning towards Pro Am being more beneficial but it depends heavily on your probability to get a green grade + a win. If you play a full game of Walk On but you get a yellow grade your bar will barely move. I'm on All Star 5 and a C grade will give me 0% progress so I need at least an A- to make it worthwhile. In Park I can get by with a low grade here and there just because of the turnaround time to recover the next game with a better grade. I'm using a bit of both right now but definitely playing more Park with Walk On for a slight boost when I can run with a squad.

Walk On. Me and a lot of people average a 5-10% boost after walkon games (we are AllStars). I just got All Star five today, and it was very easy. I was 25% Allstar 4 last night and it took around 15 walk on games to get.
To get an extra boost of rep after a walk on game(win or lose), go straight to the park after you load in your MyCourt.
Somebody moved up 12% in one game after doing that.Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
I have a good bit of highlights to upload, and will probably do it with share factory. Many chasedown blocks, half court shots and many more.
I am currently at SS1 53% and prefer walk-on . I am gaining 1% Everytime with a W and a A- ,A or A+.

It's like 2K cam, but higher up so you can see the spacing better near the rim etc. helps for defending and grabbing boards.
And zooms out further when outside.Comment

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
I started Walk On Friday night at 49% on All Star 5
I lost a game with a D+ and got knocked down to 46%
I was so close to just calling it a night... decided to drop the random and build a squad.. end up running with a full 5
6 games later I'm now up to 80% towards SS1 🏆
Walk On is definitely very beneficial but man you need reliable teammates to make it worthwhile otherwise you got to be a dominant individual player on both ends.
I run with a 6ft3 Shot Creator PG.. I can score 30 a game but I can't rebound for myself and I need teammates who can help me goto work and help make good on my setups.
There is some good random out there but collectively the random community quality for walk on is very poor especially at the perimeter positions. I rather be pooled with an inside big than a playmaker. 1 sharpshooter is good but sometimes they too reckless.
On a good note, I did win 1 out of 2 with the randoms that included a come from behind victory that was made good off my game winning dribble pull up middy with 21s remaining 😊
For a rep grind though it can be very brutal putting your faith and hope in 4 random teammates to carry their load and play responsibly.

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
Played park this morning and my slasher no longer sprints? So now any finish at the rim is a lay up. If I got a big running start then I could dunk, but other than that weak finishes. Did they nerf slashers? It was totally fine last night. I don't get it? Anyone else experience this?

Re: NBA 2k17 - MyPark
I've had a rough double rep weekend. I'll win a game in walk on, have 20+ with my shot creator and be cool. Next game it always feels like I miss my first couple shots and can't string anything together. What I love about randoms is they think if you miss one shot that you suck and don't pass you the ball. I just wanna be like "I WAS 10/12 LAST GAME HOES!" but I just try and play good defense and hope they hit me on the break.Comment
