Sure I still see it as a treat but it could have been the best treat ever if they just gave you some more minutes, it literally wouldn't have been anything to them and everything to us.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
100%
I got B+ performances every game, with an A- in Olympic only coz I didn't turn it over and my draft grade stayed mid first round.
Just had zero time on the ball, teammates ignoring me, especially when cutting to the paint, and you get more playtime in the later games but its still probably max 5-8 mins.
The worst is how the CPU offence holds the ball literally the full 24 secs and if you try and go wild you get punished (as it should be)
If you play as a PG tho at least you'll get the ball
What is also nice is how literally every aspect of the story/dialogue etc. is based around your physical attributes and your archetype.
Like my player is really skinny and my 'mom' on the phone says I need to eat more, I can imagine that would be different if I was a big guy.
I also think that your special teammate (so the guy in college and Michael B. Jordan in the pros) will play a role that directly corresponds to yours.

ya fully agree bro, I'm obviously not going first lol. only got B grades so stayed mid round. What did u get?
tbh I recommend doing that. The gameplay is hella nice tho, and its got lots of touches, but I'm sure you can play college and affect your draft stock in the full game.
I did get 1790 VC early tho which is good.
Likewise to be able to access the app and get extra VC is always good.
Anyone know if I delete my player and start again on the full game that my VC will be moved to a new player?

in commentary tho they definitely speak about your archetype as your playing style and expectation tho, surely?Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
Cons :
The overhead skip passes are awfully slow. Need to speed em up or ditch em. I also dislike that they still have thoses instances where a random pass triggers when you wanted something else. They really need to remove that thing. If you press the bounce pass button it has to be a bounce pass 100% of the time.
The skinny, muscle less arms, ill looking bodytypes are just bad. I'am sorry 2K but with the exception of Ingram and probably a few others nobody looks like that.
Still some passes that go through bodies.
There is a lot more of pros and cons most likely (you can't figure out the whole game in one hour of play) but that's on the top of my head. Overall I'am sold on the game. Feels very different in a good way and as barebones as it was (no plays, no idea who you're playing with etc) it was pretty fun. The two biggest things that makes a huge difference for me is responsiveness and how the game sounds.[/QUOTE]
UGH! Very disappointing to hear passes STILL GO THROUGH PLAYERS BODIES smh. I can't stand that. Totally kills immersion & it's flat out cheating. What's the point of playing good defense & positioning when at any given moment 2K's corrupt A.I. can decide to take over & make the ball go through your body. Why is it so hard for them to fix that? Are we gonna have to wait for the Next Generation of consoles before they can make the ball tangible at ALL times? I mean the BALL is the most important object on the court but yet it's the least respected (shooting the ball through the backboard, hands morphing through balls on steal attempts, etc..). I really hoped 2K would've fixed that this year. Ball tangibility is a MUST 2K! Between that & players still sliding into position when receiving passes, I'm seriously contemplating cancelling my preorder.Comment

i was getting 5 rebounds a game pretty much but only 9 / 11 points.
lost a lot of my grades on spamming call for pass and later abandoning assignment trying to make plays happen lolComment

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
I seriously need to figure out what I'm doing wrong as far as trying to break down defenders goes in 2KU...seems like it doesn't matter what I do or who I try to control and get by the CPU just goes into automatic lockdown defense mode and becomes a brick wall you can't get around
and when I'm on defense the CPU just blows past any defender for easy layups and slams a large majority of the time with cuts to the baskets and such...my team on offense just sits in the same place 99% of the time and when I try to do the "cut to the basket" or "give & go" commands the CPU gets a steal or deflection basically every timePSN: PanicshadeLWK

Re: NBA 2K17 The Prelude is out for New Zealand accounts on PSN
Made a 6'4 Shot Creator SG and im loving it so far, played midnight madness game and the first proper game. I chose MSU.
Got an A- my first game with 16 points, 2 rebs, 3 assists, and 1 steal
Loving the dribble moves and the overall smoothness of the gameComment
