Not entirely sure what you mean. All patch/updates are applied to career saves. If you want updated rosters, then you'll need to start a new career.

The AI is odd in this game. I played Denver and Houston, both of them were missing their stars (durant signed with the nuggets) and they both played way better without them.

Hey there, has anyone else had their Doin' Work meter disappear since downloading the latest patch?

I opened my MyCareer and it loaded straight into the Team Training I was doing before the patch (I had exited the midway through it as one of the drills glitched and wouldn't let me do anything) but the Doin' Work meter isn't there, nor is it there for Individual Training or training on MyCourt.

Im in the conference finals against my old team the wolves. Justice is still there. We are about to swept them again. My third season is great i must say. I won MVP award with 32 ppg and 10 assist. Our team is almost the same as last year except for randle. Our Gm traded him for teague. That was wack lol.

Hof BS is completely back in career mode and my team mates are back to 2k15 levels of trash. i know the shooting tweak was supposed to be for both the cpu and user, but there's no way it's hit the cpu in career mode. they are sinking more ridiculous shots than at anytime during this game as far as I can see. That stupid moving shot hop step jump shot my team mates is killing me. Wiggins has a 75 standing 3 and a 45 moving 3, so he refuses standing shots to take hop steps resulting in brick after brick after brick.

Oh well, team mates were the one thing in career mode that has been an improvement on previous versions.

i play at Superstar and im in my 2nd Season. I won ROY with 16/3/7 but i had Luck becasue Simmons got Hurt he was above me all season. so now im with the Bulls and we struggled and had 25-23 record .. but we had a great run now andare at 38-24 now.. im averaging arround 23/4/9 with 2 steals and 3.8 TO's.. the Turnover are frustrating as hell sometimes.. but every win is hard fought.

what i hate this year is Justice Young.. this Guy is no. 2 on MVP Candidates with 21/6/6/3 and a Block and he wasnt even drafted.. 2K.. thats unrealistic as hell.. i hated him from the start so i chose to leave him in the summer.. we wer on the Jazz now he is on the Warriors and im on the Bulls..

i hop next year will finally be a normal Career with more college team and without unrealistic fictice players..

and also i think peole who play at HOF or Superstar should get way more VC than iots now.. peole that play on rookie puttin up 50 points per game should get less imo.
That's why I don't raise my players overall too much. I'm slowing putting VC in my player making sure the game isn't too easy for me to score or get too many steals, rebounds, assists, etc. my player is overal 70 right now. I want it to be realistic like real NBA. When you're getting 40, 25, 15 then it's an arcade game. And I want to rely on my teammates too. Right now I'm averaging 19, 10, and 5 as SF. I could be averaging more points but I'm playing with Lillard and McCollum.

I think people play how they want to play. You can average whatever you want in this game honestly. Run plays the whole time and get real NBA shots or just run pick and roll every play and score or get an assist. I like scoring a lot some games and other games getting teammates involved. But every person plays the way they want. Most of the time the stats are ridiculous because people play on rookie to just get badges.

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread

That's honestly why personally, even though a lot of people seem to like playing as a big, I prefer a point guard. Maybe it's different as a non glass cleaner but I just can't get into averaging 20+ rebounds a game (playing with Anthony Davis by his side by the way, which is even more ridiculous). Even Andre Drummond doesn't do that and I like playing on 12 minute quarters. As a point guard, I control the plays and control the ball most of the time so I can distribute shots and find it more realistic to average 10+ assists than 20+ rebounds.

I haven't started my point guard yet cause I know I'll stick with that so I grinded out my C first, once I get HOF break starter and finish the first season (just a few more regular season games and then the playoffs) but I look forward to it after having a blast on 2K16.

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread

Just created my new MyCareer. I created a 6'3 170lb Sharpshooter SG. I didn't have good college numbers. But I did have a good Olympic game. I ended with 15 points and 3 rebs and a steal. I got drafted by the Nuggets. My original goal was to get drafted by the Kings. But once I was having average college games I knew lottery was slim chance.
But I think I might like the Nuggets. It is a intriguing young team with talent across. No one rated over 80 OVR and getting over 27 minutes. So 13 of 15 players will play. I feel more comfortable taking Barton's starting spot and Justice taking Mudiay spot down the line since they aren't highly rated players. Which mean our backcourt depth of Mudiay, Barton, and Murray would be deadly. With Justice on the floor, I know i will slide over to SF a lot. At 6'3 will be big disadvantage. But I will have to get defense and agility up to at least be able to defend 1-3 spot. And I like frontcourt depth as well.
So this might be a good team down the line, once I learn to play without the ball and get good spacing

How do you guys set the Defensive Assist? After patch 1.05 I can no longer force the ball handler in a specific direction, not even with Intensive-D. He just slides off of me like I'm covered in oil. Normally if you stay in front of him and he tries to force his way through you, he would bumped off, like your player does against the defense AI, but this is no longer the case for me if I'm the defender.

I'm beginning to think that, even with all the BS and embarrassing story, I liked 2k16 MyCareer more. I'm still early in 2k17 but I liked the gameplay in 2k16 better and the Justice thing completely destroys the immersion for me. I should be the up and coming star on the court but I have no longer a connection to the MyCareer mode and MyPlayer because there is another fake player in the game.

Besides, Justice replaced Dwyane Wade as a starter and pushed Butler to the SF position which is absolutely nonsense.

Regarding the archetypes: I find it funny that exactly when the NBA is changing, when young players like Davis, Embiid, Porzingis etc are blurring the lines between archetypes, 2K for the first time introduces them. Pretty telling. And they do it only to balance MyPark, ruining offline MyCareer at the same time. I think it is time to separate MyPark from MyCareer. Keep the archetypes for online but remove them from the offline story mode. Or just make them less strict.

An example of post patch HoF team mates; refusing the lob finish to pass out of it for no reason and create a turnover. Jeez.

Yeah same here, tried to keep my player at 85ovr (should increase after FT drills). Kinda regret I increased my midrange shooting attributes. The shot timing changed so i have to adjust again lol. As of the moment, averaging 20, 7, 5 SF. Had to keep it at 20 and limit my passing to Justice as he's right behind me for ROY.
