Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Is it permanent or temporary? Sorry if you answered it earlier. I would love to get my free throws up.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
I've seen some people saying permanent indeed - and it makes sense since the unseen stats are mostly low for everybody. 1+ attribute being temporary wouldn't make sense to me. As for my ft rating I don't remember where I started at. But I'm missing less than before regardless of release so. Any big men here feel free to say where you started at. Or anyone.
And when I got +1 free throw it didn't permanently move that rating beyond my base free throw rating of 66.
Surely this is a bug and not an intentional design, because it's stupid having these crazy low stamina and free throw ratings on everyone in Pro Am right now.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Any time I go to an optional practice and say no to a drill my guy automatically walks over toward Jason R for the hey talk to me I'm with the media cutscene. It's excrutiatingly long and unskippable and worst of all IT RIPS ME STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PRACTICE WITH NO INPUT. I HAVE WATCHED THIS CUTSCENE 6 TIMES NOW AND I CANT DO WHAT I WANT IN THE PRACTICE COURT ANYMORE.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
So I'm getting the game this week and I have two ideas for my player
First is a 6'4-5 playmaking SG. From what I've heard, shot creator and sharpshooter don't seem to pay off too well, but playmaker seems to have more balanced shooting stats with decent speed and ball handling
Second idea is a 6'9-10 stretch big PF. Seen a lot of people affirming that having a 3 point shooting big man is a great way to go. I'd thought as much since in previous 2ks your inside shot didn't matter too much as long as you were close to the basket. I'm favoring both myplayers being undersized so they'll be quicker. does size matter that much in this game?
Also for anyone who's been drafted by the Lakers or even a top 3 team, how well did you perform in college? did you mostly score? did you buy vc?Comment

I've got two characters a PG Sharpshooter and a PG Lockdown defender and both can do damage in Park on both ends.. Passing for me has been on point (even when I was a 64) and you can still dribble past players (unless it's against a maxed out LDD who knows what they are doing)..
My favourite position is LDD at the moment but thats because it suits my style and my squads style. I keep my opposition number shutdown and pick up easy mid range shots and close range shots.. So before spending any money, pick what you will enjoy the most.Football: Manchester United

I really wonder why they couldn't come up with a better nickname than "Orange Juice"? I mean who's gonna take that seriously? What sounds more intimidating? "Uh oh guys the Bad Boys are coming to town" or "Orange Juice is coming to town boys, I better get my cup!"Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
so can anyone tell if the ai is still as stupid as last year?
do you have to carry the team alone again and score absurdly high ppg, apg and rpg, even though you play on a team with durant, lebron or any other superstar?
do your performances influence your playing time; will the coach take you out if you suck?
do you still have to play 40+ mins, even in a blow out as the superstar of a team (if anyone has played so far already)?
does the game still feel scripted in parts (e.g. you get substituted always at the same time during games; time outs are being called at the same time in a game etc.)?
can you get traded without asking for a trade (like, eh, in real life)?Comment

Not always, I have Cousins who will go to town down low if he gets fed the ball. Difficulty level plays a part.
In the full 12 minute games I've played as a starter, I've had to play near on the full 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters but I asked out and simmed the 4th due to huge leads at the time so I expect the 4th is probably the same.
Didn't notice any of that, I was getting substituted at random times. Even having to sit out entire quarters.
I don't believe you can.Football: Manchester United
