    Thanks man, I appreciate

The truth is that you are not used in defending post scorers since they are very rare in pro-am or park.

In my case, you have also to consider the height-weight-strenght mismatch I have being a small forward.

So, I understand that there wasn't much more than I could do: I had 3 steals against him, plus a clean block when he drop-stepped, and he didn't finish with 15+ points. But there were a couple of possessions (including the last one) where I had a REALLY good defense/contest but he scored despite that.

Ive seen quite a few elite post scorers in pro am. The guy you faced must of been mediocre because with that size disadvantage you probably would of graded out lol. There is not much you can do vs the spin fade or correctly executed drop step.

Thank God there is not a lot of these monsters roaming. All I see at the 4 is tall small forward sharpshooters or glass cleaners.

I agree. I think it's kind of funny that there aren't that many post scorers you see dominating pro-am given how godly they can be in the right hands. I always attributed that to the fact that 90% of people who play this game just don't feel like sitting there watching 1 person do post moves the majority of their offensive possessions, and would get bored. Not to mention the fact that it does kind of suck that not only you sit there and watch them do moves and try and score, but also no one really gets any assists passing to the post scorer either lol.

However, they do own given the right user, and can be damn near unstoppable, to your point. I've thought to myself before how deadly a pro am team would be if they had 4 sharpshooters, and 1 dominant post scorer, and just fully committed to letting him go to work 1 on 1 the entire game, while the SS space the floor on the 3 point line. I've yet to see that type of team, but sure they're probably out there.

I've run the "'94 Houston Rockets offense" before in Pro Am, and it does work against unorganized walk-on randoms, and against any team that plays man-to-man defense.

But it doesn't work against the majority of teams that you'll play from Elite 1 through Elite 6, because 90% of those teams run a zone defense.

And you can't post up against a zone in 2K17 because:

          1) The high post fadeaway is an unreliable shot that rarely becomes a perfect green release, even if it's completely uncontested. In 2K17's offensive meta, any shot that isn't a dunk or a green release jumper is a bad shot that's not worth taking.

          2) Defenders can easily run in, collapse on you, and steal the ball from you any time that you catch the ball in the post, even if you've maxed out your post control and playmaking ratings.

          3) If you do manage to pass out of a double team without getting your pass animation tipped or stripped, the defense will still be able to close out on whichever shooter you pass to, because of how unrealistically fast the close out speeds are, how slow and clunky the pass/catch animations are, and how far away the defender can be while still getting what the game considers a good shot contest.

The 3 sharpshooters spacing and playmaker running behind constant picks from GC cheese is just too effective for top teams to try other lineups.

We have a funky one and are 84-14 so far with it.

Are these walk on center going to come out the paint and guard the 3 or they just gonna let me score 30 every game on less than 15 shots.

My 6'10 stretch PF always gets put at Center.....

Same but playing stretch center in walk on very rarely does the opposing center guard u at the 3. I finished with 58 points yesterday shot 18 of 21 from 3. Next game I dropped 44 and game after that a lazy 31 on 10 of 13 shooting.

Last game finally opponents adjusted and started double teaming me after I went 8 for 9 with 24 points after first quarter lmao. Finished with 33 and 9 assits.

2K16 Pro Am was so much better. Now all I have to do to play good D on my guy is to stand in the corner making out with him. This spread offense that every team is running is so fn weak.

Totally agree. I can't wait to see what next year brings. I hope nba kicks them to the curb if they come out with same or little change to gameplay.

I'm tired of standing in a corner and watching point guard run around HOF brick wall screens all game.

Played a game where the center stood in the paint guarding air while his opponent shot 3 after 3 after 3. Made no sense. It's usually the glass cleaners afraid to leave the paint and not get the rebound.

Does anyone else have just an "off" game? My sharpshooter went 1-9 last game, I was bricking wide open threes (maxed three point, HOF catch and shoot, HOF corner and HOF dead eye), I bricked a two handed dunk and a lay up.

I don't know what was going on, I couldn't get a green release to save my life and no matter how close the meter was, I clanked it. My guy didn't even guard me the last part of the game. It was really bizarre.

Went 0/8 in one game with SS. One of the reasons I gave up on him. Wide open missing everything.

I had games like that. Usual culprit is lag/shot delay or someone doing the int foul/Left bumper glitch when you shoot.

Played a 35-0 team last night. Went into the game thinking alright these guys are going to be good. What happened?

We beat them by 25. All they did all game was have the PG speed boost around a pick then keep spamming dribble moves til he'd get an ankle breaker or try to shoot a mid range. He'd like never pass the ball to anyone. No clue why any of his teammates would want to play with him. Meanwhile I had 20 pts and 11 assists on 8/10 shooting and constantly kept the ball moving. It's amazing what wins in pro am this year. We're an elite 3 squad so we're pretty good but man, the lower levels are kind of a cess pool.
