Sorry for the double post but this might be one of the best mindsets to have going into walk-on. I'm fairly good at taking open, smart shots but sometimes a guy will close faster then I anticipated or someone will come off their man that I wasn't expecting, but I have already started the shooting process. Or even worse, I brick a wide open shot. This doesn't mean I should be frozen out the rest of the game, that is just lunacy.

Yeah, I'm not sure what is causing it then because that should be good enough to not have that happen.

I agree with this 100%. It is a long game and not using your teammates is a surefire way to lose. People make mistakes and if you give them enough chances, as opposed to just freezing them out after one mistake, they may not completely hog the ball when they get it because they know they will get another opportunity.

Yeah, and a walk on situation is often 5 guys playing together where you don't know your teammate's archetypes until minutes into a game, and to top it off you don't know what they're comfortable doing with their player. It's why I don't like using a PG in that mode.

So I just took my Slasher PG to Pro-am to see how he feels (only a 75 overall, no badges yet) assists are pretty easy to get but I struggled to score. I could usually get by my guy easy enough but whenever I had a line to the basket I almost always pulled up and shot a jumper, which I missed.

Any ideals on what I was doing wrong or just tips in general?

Wait till you are closer that's all there is and even then I've had the game make me pull from 5 feet outs very now and then no way to stop it just gotta put some bars into off the dribble shooting.

I never get mad at open shots... Stuff happens. Now if you taking a shot while getting triple teamed, then I'm freezing you out lmao

TFW you enter a Pro-AM game and know 3 minutes in that the next 30-35 is going to be the longest of the day.

And your teammates go 1/10, 4/15 (Kicked due to F Grade), and the other allows his matchup to go 35/12 while getting literally 14 dunks in the game. Like, these dudes would dribble around for 10 seconds, have the defenders force them to pick up their dribble, and then they would STILL SHOOT OVER A TRIPLE TEAM MULTIPLE TIMES! They're using 95 rated players anyways, how can someone play and grind this game and be so terrible!?!?

I just wish there could be some skill matchmaking of some kind...

I just watched a dude give up 55 points. I tried to help him out but I had defensive assist on(I forgot I had it on). Every time I tried to help him out I would get pulled back to my man. I have never seen that before.

Got put at Center in my first game as a 6'9 205lbs SF Point Forward. Had 25 and 10, but went up against a 7'3 Athletic Finisher who could have had 50 if his teammates were any good. He had 17 and 17, but just continually muscled me out of the way. Ironically, my backup position is SG.

Our team came back from down 20 late in the second half and it felt glorious. Completely locked them up in the 4th and our slasher couldn't be stopped. I wish I streamed it but I could only record the tail end of it.

                        Why?

Omg why you guys always wanna nerf [insert broken game mechanic]!?!???!!! You just suck at [insert irrelevant mechanic or broken counter to aforementioned mechanic] sorry not sorry. I have no problem with [insert broken game mechanic] it's totally fine. I use [broken game mechanic] and it's totally fine I just went [insert poor one game stat line] if it was broken why didn't I get [insert large number of points and unnatural FG%].

And before y'all get hurt for those who can't tell this was sarcasm felt like I might as well go ahead and reply with this since a good 3-5 people were gonna do this anyway.

Joined a new Elite Team and was delighted to find that they played team basketball and didn't have a PG that had the ball 99% of the time, had some nice games but the best (for me anyway) was this game, using my 6'10 Paint Protector playing at PF vs a 7'0 Athletic Finisher my opponent got
                            10 points
                            2 rebounds
                            1 assist
                            1 steal
                            3 fouls
                            2 turnovers
                            4-7 FG
                            C+ Teammate Grade
                            And i got
                            14 points
                            14 rebounds
                            6 assists
                            4 blocks
                            2 fouls
                            1 turnover
                            6-10 FG

Just recorded my first triple double playing walk on as a 6'5 Playmaking PG.

It was me and some ball hogging slasher at PF vs 3 others (started with 4 vs 5 but people quit/got kicked).

Have to say it was a great moment, because it was literally me doing all the heavy lifting, being shutdown on D, spreading the ball, taking it up in transition, taking smart shots.

I was very lucky coz the PG I was against quit in the 2nd or 3rd and was 5'9 lol hence all the boards, and allowed me to be like Giannis and freelance coz I knew I had the a 5'9 CPU player in my pocket.

Will post pics when I figure how to share them off my PS4

I have to say playing lots of PNO really prepares you for walk on pro-am, as you know how to play within the skills of your player, and sort of hard-codes it.

I find after playing MyCareer I'm so used to feeling invincible that I'm doing things I know I can't actually do.
