For people asking if something (team rivalries, advanced rotations, etc.) is also in MyGM, you can assume the answer is yes unless otherwise stated.
Start Today and Playoffs are separate modes though based on the MyLEAGUE experience, so you can't mix and match them with the MyGM experience. The answer is the MyGM engine needs to be fed data from the very start of the season, and we can't just drop you in on February 3rd and have it work. If there's a huge want for it, we can evaluate that in the future, but we wanted to bring it back bigger and better than ever, and we took extra care of making sure as many systems as possible work exactly as if you had played MyLEAGUE up to that point, as well as allowing you to start in the start of the next offseason when we hit the summer of 2017.
Some other quickfire answers:
- Only 2 jerseys per custom team.
- There's an expansion flow where teams get to protect players before the expansion draft. You can start with an expansion team both when using "start in regular season" and "start from previous offseason". You can start with 1-6 expansion teams to boot. The league and all the franchise features have been adjusted to work with any number of teams between 30 and 36.
Alas, such is life. Thanks for the answer. Going to have to aim for some surefire-classic jerseys when making them.Comment

I believe you can use customize league to add more teams that aren't necessarily expansion teams (and mix and match with expansion teams), so no, you can have more than 30 teams without an expansion draft.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou

Also. If we control every team in the league. Do we still do the voting for new rules. Would love to change the way postseason is.
Please please please say we can vote for top 16 teams overall make playoff spot and not just top 8 from each conference.
Thanks for everything. This game looks amazing.Comment

Is old contract editing in? Like in 2K15 where the numbers didn't skip by 5 or 10 like it did in 2K16. Many wanted editing salary to be a little faster but now we can't get exact numbers.Comment

LeftOS,
How does the substitutions work this year with player lock? Does the screen still fade to black and then subs you back in or has there been a change? Thanks in advance.Last edited by jada855; 09-09-2016, 03:23 PM.Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Once again 2k blew it!! This is trash and a slap in to the face of online leaguers!!! No one asked you guys at visual conceits to turn this mode into some make believe fantasy mode of basketball!!! This isn't my league online this is "create away to silence them by making a lazy attempt at jumbling free agents and rookies to sort them out and possibly go year to year online!!" To blatantly ignore a segment of your fan base since the crossover of platforms is so insulting to me! No version of online association has been implemented into this next gen console and it's laughable at this point!! There is no creative or innovative way to continue to say " we screwed you again" yet you guys keep using buzz words like " exciting once you touch the controller"" or the leagues WE have been in were interesting" ...you guys have a certain arrogance only seen in and carried out in this mode and it sucks!
Every other faction of your fan base gets what they want eventually, but we have simply asked to have a simulation style of a NBA season for now 4 titles on Xbox one and you guys at Visual concepts, the people who can't wait to say you are the number one sports game on the planet, and the only game that let's the fans have control...have continued to ignore us yet again.
No reason was giving as to why having contracts or allowing this cornball cheesy keeper mode to be an option for admins! It's the transparency you lack Erick when it comes to this mode that makes me sadly view you as a used car salesman!! You have no problem in any other article digging in or sending someone to this forum to talk to us like adults! It's times Mike wang or you provide passionate intricate details and the reasoning as to why and or why not something couldn't make said years iteration of the game and then you'd leave that article confidently with a claim stating that we heard you and don't be surprised if we fix this by next development cycle!!
Yet in this mode you guys took an elitist factionalized horrible idea and made it standard with no regard as to even saying in the last sentence "this is something we think you may like". You guys continue to be shady irresponsible and immature in regards to this game mode and its Crap! You commission us to seek information outside of you via the drones you lead us to believe speak for us, you tell us you invited them to preview the game almost a month out and sell us the bill of goods that they report unbiased news... Yet they all of them seemed to be on message across Twitter YouTube and even in operationsports when it came to getting questions answered about my league online! A simple yes or no question was asked via Twitter from Mike_lowe@operationsports he asked to Ld2k "is my league offline going to mirror my league online?" instead of saying yes or no the 2k public relations robots start retweeting bullet points from the Forbes magazine article and feeding us the hope that you were going to clear some things up On Friday Erick!
You didn't though Erick we saw right through this bare bones mode with the 89 things you should know about 2k17 article!!! You guys used 5 blurbs on this mode saying stuff like " many offseason decisions" taking to us like we have no Concept of speaking the English language leading us all to believe what you just confirmed, that if it's no breakdown at length to we can safely assume that the mode will be as bland and as squeezing it in between all the great accomplishments you'd like us to see! You guys went to every arena to get the sound of basketball nets added more commentators signed Creed to add to myplayer added more shoes etc. yet you couldn't put NBA free agency in an offline mode?? This can't be logical thinking to me it's so maddening that once again I have to not buy your game simply over doing 99% of the work and saying forget something that is as important to a league as free agency!
You started this article telling us how hard your people worked on this title which is great because what you guys continue to do offline but maybe you need separate guys to care for online because it doesn't seem to be one person in that office that cares or relates to fans like me want!! Not everybody wants to play myplayer or team up or fantasy card packs or even offline my league in 2016! It's criminal that madden a game that is under constant scrutiny has been on message with its fans in regards to their online leagues from day one on Xbox on while being under attack year after year! Madden has been around since 1988 and almost 30 years it continues to adapt to the times... No knock against offline players but to cater to that segment of your fanbase knowing full well everything you market down to myplayer is online preemptive!! Can you say willfully ignorant? So Erick I ask you if your online league fans say please add s real offseason for Nba 2k 18 with no cheesy gimmicks or fantasy style work arounds, could you just simply say " yes we will or no we can't" and save us the time of day of making mean posts like this because honestly I think every other part of this game is epic yet the value of it remains to be zero dollars when it comes to why I would choose to spend any money on it sadly because you say screw be and people like me and I just don't understand why!!!Comment

First of all... thank you Leftos to be here and answering questions.
I have some question regarding MLO.
How these keeper years work in "real" MLO. How are keeper years distributed among players and how can an admin affect this aspect of the game?
For example we will take Warriors and we have fresh start of MLO with 2 players we can keep after each season:
- Curry have 3 keeper years left
- Thompson have 2 keeper years left
- Draymond Green have 1 keeper year left
So after finishing the MLO season, Draymond automatically goes to "draft" pool (no more keeper years left), but we as owners of Warriors have option to "keep" Curry and Thompson trough set number of players defined by an admin. Assume we don't want to keep Curry.
1.) Does he enters a draft pool with 2 keeper years left?
2.) Knicks for example drafted (or newly signed) Draymond, how many keeper years did he acquire? 5, 4, 3, random? Do all FA from draft pool get same keeper years when they are drafted?
3.) How does adding additional "keeper" years work for rookies? Assume we have drafted new rookie from draft so he gets how many "normal" keeper years + 2,3,random keeper years for rookies?
4.) Draft picks... Do they matter in MLO? Is the draft position based solely by season standings and then lottery draw? Does the MLO lottery draw have same "logic" as the "real" lottery draw?
5.) How about trading during the season? Is trading allowed?
Thank you for your answers.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
Yeah, man, I was not happy with the in-game injuries last year. I had spent so much time working on adding features to the injury system, but when such a core part of the system goes wrong, it kind of takes away the whole thing. The AI team really made a point of taking a much closer look at the injury implementation and presentation this year, so all the features we added to the backend should now be properly supported in-game as well.
There's a lot more injury related animations, and a huge number of regular animations were tokenized to add wear and tear probabilities for specific body parts, that then increase the probability of that body part being injured.
We're really happy the Wear & Tear system made it in this year, both the short-term implementation in-game as well as the long-term implementation in the franchise backend. It's yet another addition to all the injury related features we've been adding with help from the Features and AI team since 2K15.
Ahh yesss, thank you so much.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
I know this isnt a suggestion thread but Leftos i think there should be individual development rates for guys going forward. A simple "fast, normal, or slow" system would add even more to player individuality
And also i think that there needs to be some sort of system that will dictate in which areas a player will improve (ive suggested potential ratings for every attribute ala OOTP but i can see how this would time consuming to implement). I think currently players progress in the same areas. This will help us guys who create our own draft classes. But im aware that a drawback for this would be how do you institue it for the current NBA guys. Hope you guys consider some sort of systemLast edited by Baebae32; 09-09-2016, 03:31 PM.Comment

2k couldn't mix "not keepers" players with draft prospect.
Two draft next season.. before draft players, then draft "not keepers" players.Comment
