Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
Havent got the game to see how the real players look, but in the Prelude I can say Im not a fan of the CAP system. Now Im not very good at making CAPs, but it does seem impossible to get you MyPlayer to look anything like you.
Probably my biggest gripe and maybe its just my incompetence when tyring to make a player, but it seems no matter what you your player will have a big nose. Not everyone has pig snouts for noses, and it seems no matter what you do your nose is always to wide, you can get the length right, so its not abig honker, but its still too wide.
I dont know anything about Facescan, so I cant scan myself, but you would think you could get close to what you look like with CAP, or whoever your trying to make for that matter. I know MyPlayer seems a little to big too, like Im a Line Backer, instead of what your typical 6'4 SG would nornally look like, especially just coming out of college.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
Some of the thin bodies are SO bad this year (possibly the worst in 2K's history since... 2K7?) that I also mulled over a write up comparing player geometry and shading in previous games, to 2K17, and to actual players from a graphics and figurative art background. I'd love to read your take.Last edited by Sundown; 09-10-2016, 11:52 PM.Comment

The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
The only thing I can figure is that the curry body type from last year must have affected game play somehow so they removed it.
The new skinny body type was already in the game so it's not like they newly added it to replace the old one. Both body types existed in the game so why remove the old one if some players could actually benefit from that body type.
All they had to do was exclusively assign it to KD and Ingram. How hard could that have been if other players already have different body types?
Maybe they have a limit to how many body types are used between My player and normal NBA mode. I'm not sure how many body types were in Myplayer last year.
So there could have been some type of trade off. Make KD and Ingram skinny or have them look bigger. Either way the removed the old small body type for a reason and I think we should know why.

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
The art dept. needs to be held at a higher standard than this, especially when you have the developers putting so much into this game to make it great.
It's already bad enough for me with the whole Bucks court/unis being so bad. But this may be too much. Totally kills the immersion for me.
Last year the bodies weren't perfect by no means, but they were light years better than this year. No excuses.

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
Are folks really trying to put the blame on us like seriously the art developers are professionals who get paid to do this for a living, just because we wanted some models to be skinny doesn't mean they had to go overboard and lose muscle definition like c'mon these are supposed to be real life athletes where representing not the highschool spelling b team.Comment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
The skinny player models are terrible to the point it actually seems like a joke.
Even KD looked fine last year, maybe needed some slight shoulder tweaking but that's about it.
I agree that it seems impossible the devs couldn't look at the game vs. real life and think "Hmm, that isn't right..."Comment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
He clarified it was his opinion. Nevertheless, stating something is your opinion when it's obviously an opinion is a ridiculous necessity around here.
I agree with the OP. However, ITS MY OPINION that control feels delayed again in some scenarios. I've already walked out of bounds on an inbound twice without pressing a button. And what's with the button memory when you don't have possession? (I.e. Automatically passing if you hit the pass button while ball is on the way to you).Check out my gaming channel YouTube.com/OffTheBrinkTV for Tips, Tricks, Tutorials, Walkthroughs and Let's Play videos!Comment

Its definitely apparent that some people struggle to stipulate the difference between opinion and fact around here haha.

Well as a matter of fact, it's my opinion....that it's a fact.
That's enough out of me haha. Keen to hear from Books if he does decide to chime in on body types. That's gonna be a good read for everyone.Comment
