Have they fixed the materials glitch on custom shoes? Like, metal material looks metal in game, not just in creator? Or is that still broke?

Man, the complaining never ends with some people, it's never good enough.

People like us who go in and edit the shoes are a tiny portion of the 2k player base. I'm grateful this year 2k and Hawktastic have been updating us with colorways and shoes almost every week, it used to be only once or twice a year with like five or six shoes at max. Just acknowledge that they keep giving us more kicks on the regular rather than just going "pfft they didn't give me the exact shoes I wanted."

Ok, kinda getting pissed here. I see the Air More Uptempo shoes are in the game, but I can't put them on Scottie Pippen. These are the shoes he wore in the 1996 playoffs. Anyone know how i can put them on Pippen?

You can put those on Pippen. As long as your custom roster was made after October 15, you're good to go. I actually just put them on Pip last night.

Yup. All custom rosters made on October 15 and onwards make the shoe updates available to be used for custom rosters.

Welp, tried to create a new roster from the one I created earlier, to see if that could be a way around starting all over again.

Nope. Didn't work.

I'll have to start all over again. Man, damn that. Each year, creating rosters is getting to become a chore. Don't feel like starting this crap all over again.

Look at it from this perspective:

Not a lot of people play the retro teams. Most just wanna jump in Park or MyPlayer. The consumer base of 2K, which is most likely in the realm of 10 million plus, has an age range of people playing it between kids to adults. Let's say that, and I'm just guessing here, a good number of those playing are usually younger people aged 14-24, how many of them would really buy retro kicks that aren't a Jordan shoe, or a formerly highly visible retro Nike shoe to put on their player when they have the option to put on a KD, LeBron, or Kyrie shoe, right?

And, again, we don't decide what goes into the game. 2K and the shoe companies, more than likely, have set contracts which only allow certain models to be put in. If we had things the way we want them, the Lillard 3 would already be in the game. We'd have the Pro Model adidas for the retro teams. We'd be able to edit Weapons worn by Magic and Larry. It's not a perfect world, man. Like how everyone came down on me for the texture bug fix, and I did get the point presented, you gotta understand that we don't have a specific say on what should go in vs. what shouldn't. In all honesty, with the kind of work Hawktastic has done for sneakers this year, we really shouldn't be in a position to have huge gripes with what's available. Hell, we're spoiled this year when you compare it to every other NBA 2K, sneakerwise.

I appreciate this post. My boys and I play with all the players in the game in our games. Using Prime Shaq, Kobe and MJ, Pip, and Russell helps us enjoy the game. We put shoes on all the historic players. I suspect other ppl do.this too because it kills me to see the 2K generics on players.

Retro's are nice. I just wish they updated and added them as much as other shoes.

I am confused by your last statement. Since the game released 2K has given us at least 10 air jordan models, the Reebok question, and the Nike Air Uptempo. That is probably a third of the new shoes(new models only) that they have put in game since the game came out.

jordans cover about 2 players total of all retro teams

so the term "retro" only applies if they can be used to a historic player in 2K...alright

sounds like you are one of the few people that want to ignore that 2K has done good things in 2k17 regarding shoes and wants "the perfect game" right away.

Btw I hope you know 2K just started scanning shoes in 2k16? It was obvious that 2K made it a point to make sure they get all the air jordan's in along with newer models. I bet your retro shoes will be on that list in the future but they dont grow on trees... so maybe be patient?
