    This was some finish.

I was up 10 entering the 4th, Westbrook went into God mode and hit a 3 to put them up 2.

      Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

After spending some time getting the game balance right, I started a MyGM with the rebranded Atlanta Hawks (god, their uniforms are ugly).

I have a house rule that I allow myself one trade before the season starts and one trade at the deadline. I decided to sacrifice some defense for offense, and made a trade with Milwaukee that sent Kent Bazemore and got back Khris Middleton. The plan was to focus my offense around Millsap-Middleton-Korver with Sefalosha providing pop off the bench and Howard anchoring my defense.

That plan fell apart immediately. Middleton got injured in his first game for 2-4 weeks, and I lost Howard for 4 months just a week later. I ended up signing Jianlian Yi to platoon at Center with Splitter, and Sefolosha had to move into the starting lineup.

Surprisingly, my team is holding their own with an 11-7 record (I sim every other game). Millsap is my go to guy, and Korver and Sefolosha take turns having good games as the second option. Yi has been a big surprise, averaging 11 points off the bench and connecting at a solid clip from 3P. I'll end up keeping him when Howard returns (at the expense of Humphries, who has been terrible). I just got Middleton back, so I'm hoping to see the team go on a run.

Just place Harden at PG, and Beverly at SG and swap them in defence if you need

I started a new myleague with the seattle sonics and made a mini celtic reunion in having rondo, pierce, tony allen, jeff green and perk in the lineup. I provided a mixture of veterans and young guys with high defensive rating as a priority over offense. I also traded my future picks over kid gilchrist and plans to build around him! I lack shooters but i would love to build around a team as a defense first lineup. Couldnt think of any guards closest to GP but rondo!

          My starters:
          Bogut
          Green
          Mkg
          Allen
          Rondo

Bench: cory joseph, pierce, rush, leonard, skal, alan williams, galloway, joe harris
          Reserve: perk

Just did a start today and simmed 10 seasons. I have to say the lack of quality draft classes will destroy your league. Most free agents were 68 overall.

About to embark on a MyLeague with adding the St. Louis Spirts (my team) and modernized Seattle Sonics. There was a really cool design in the download area for the Sonics I just went ahead and grabbed it. That's a really cool feature we can just DL those teams instead of making them ourselves!

Going to start the league with the NBA draft and I'm only playing 31-game seasons. 3-3-5-7 playoff format.

Going to use roster protection of 10 players for the expansion draft since I get to do the NBA draft. I plan on using 30-team control and trying to keep things pretty realistic (other than going expansion mode obviously).

Going to put STL in the East and SEA in the West.

                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Just passed the trade deadline in my new Rockets franchise sitting at 39-19 as the 2 seed and 3 games back of the 1st Seed Warriors. Harden leads the MVP voting averaging 29/9/10 on 48/41/89 shooting. 2nd place is Russell Westbrook averaging a triple double but due to the Thunder being near the bottom of the Playoff Picture and not having the best efficiency.

Eric Gordon is 2nd in the 6MOTY race averaging 18/3/4 on 46/46/89 shooting. Surprisingly Clint Capela is not currently in the MIP race as he has doubled his scoring to 14 points, his rebounds nearly doubled to 11 and is also averaging 1.7 blocks on pretty good efficiency.

Ryan Anderson started off the season ice cold but has heated up and is now averaging 19 points on 40/37/90 shooting. The biggest storyline though HAS to be Sam Dekkers emergence. Well that or Capela's continued progression.

Dekker is averaging 9/5/1 on 47/39/67 shooting. Nothing insane but Trevor Ariza did go down and Dekker was named the starter since being in the starter role Sam is averaging 12/7/3 on 46/37/64 shooting. He could definitely be the Rockets future 3.

The Rockets biggest weakness has been their rebounding and lack of an interior presence, that or their perimeter defense. Capela has been great but Nene just doesnt have it anymore, he can put some points up but beyond that he just isnt getting it done.

So I made a trade for Tyson Chandler sending them Corey Brewer and K.J. McDaniels in exchange for Chandler and Derrick Jones Jr. As a part of the deal Chandler agreed to make the last year of his contract non guaranteed to get back on a winning team.

As a secondary move to get a backup 2/3 we waived Bobby Brown and signed Lance Stephenson to a 1 year minimum contract with a team option for a 2nd year. We are making a gamble but if it doesnt work out then he can be waived after Ariza returns.

The lineups will be a bit strange until Ariza is back including Twin Tower lineups with Capela and Chandler but once Ariza comes back Chandler will be a very solid backup playing about ~20 minutes a game.

Around the NBA there were a few other trades:

                Timberwolves Trade: Ricky Rubio
                Nets Trade: Trevor Booker

Nets get another player to potentially help then win a few more games. Booker had been moved to a smaller role since the Nets signed Donatas Motiejunas. T-Wolves get a front court partner for Towns for at least the next 2 years.

76ers Trade: Nerlens Noel, 2019 Lottery Protected 1st Round Pick
                Celtics Trade: Marcus Smart

76ers finally dump one of their bigs obtaining a guard. Celtics get an interior presence finally and allows Al Horford to move back to his natural position at the 4.

Those were the only 2 major trades all the others only involved Sub 75 players.

                  Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I played a few more games post All-Star Break then played every other game in the playoffs and the season is over and the new NBA champions are the Cleveland Cavaliers! Beating the Warriors in 6 games. LeBron James cements himself as one of, arguably the greatest player of all time capturing his 4th Finals MVP award.

But back to the regular season the Rockets finished 58-24 a great bounce back year after going only 41-41 last year. James Harden made history leading the league in both points and assists for the first time since Nate Archibald.

                  Rockets Stats:
                  James Harden - 29.9/8.7/11.0, 2.1 spg - 48/40/87
                  Patrick Beverley - 7.4/5.8/8.3, 1.5 spg, 1.3 bpg - 42/39/71
                  Trevor Ariza - 12.5/5.0/2.3, 1.8 spg - 43/42/74
                  Ryan Anderson - 20.0/6.6 - 41/37/90
                  Clint Capela - 14.3/11.6, 1.8 bpg - 53/29/52
                  Eric Gordon - 18/2/2.9/4.0, 1.1 spg - 46/44/89
                  Lance Stephenson - 10.1/2.2/2.8 - 52/46/80
                  Tyson Chandler - 4.0/6.6, 0.8 bpg - 62/00/63
                  Montrezl Harrell - 3.9/2.1/0.5 - 51/50/39
                  Nene - 3.6/2.8/0.7 - 54/57/62

A few of these guys only made a few 3's were end of clock situations.

James Harden won the MVP! Finally getting what was arguably stolen from him in 2015. Harden has established himself as a top 5 player in the league if not more. His elite playmaking and scoring has made this Rockets team elite. Harden did average 4.0 turnovers a game but with his high usage and his great assist numbers this is nothing. Harden of course was also named to the All-NBA 1st Team, a huge step in his career after not making a single team last year

Now for how the Finals panned out. We were the 2 seed and took on the 7 seed Thunder and beat them in 5 games.

In Round 2 the Rockets faced the young Timberwolves who captured the 6 seed in 5 games as well.

Then the matchup we had all been waiting for 2 of the most elite offenses in the NBA. The Warriors took control of the series from the start winning game 1 and 2. We lost Sam Dekker to a Ruptured Achilles which is very very alarming he had a great sophomore (Basically rookie) year but if he has injury issues it could be very concerning. This may impact my offseason decisions.

Well in an act of desperation I loaded up the minutes having every starter playing 34+ minutes per game. The Warriors took game 3 and then the Rockets stormed back winning 3 straight to tie the series and take it to a deciding game 7 in Oracle Arena.

The game was very close through the first half but then the Warriors took over the 2nd half and went on to win the series in 7. It was disappointing but this is a huge step in the right direction for the Rockets. Besides if you make it to the Finals in year 1 it makes things less interesting.

The Rockets have 90 million on the books but could possible easily move either Anderson or Gordon though that is extremely unlikely due to how big they were this season.

Tyson Chandler is the biggest threat to be moved (literally) he had a great start to the year but struggled in Houston and struggled mightily in the playoffs. This all depends on how the free agent market looks though. The Rockets seem to be happy with the core of Harden-Anderson-Capela and Gordon as the 6th man.

The Rockets value Beverley and Ariza for more than their on court abilities as well though. This will either be a big offseason for Houston or a very quiet one.

                    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Well the answer to the type of offseason Houston was going to have was answered very quickly.

The Hornets ended up getting the #1 pick in the draft after a verry disappointing season. Houston worked out a trade that would send 3 1st Round picks (2017, 2018, 2019 (Top 3)) Ryan Anderson, Montrezl Harrel, and a 2nd Round Pick. In return we received Kemba Walker.

Kemba averaged 22/4/6 on 44/38/85 last season and somehow was snubbed from the All-Star team.

Kemba gives us a 2nd playmaker, a solid 3 pointer and an average defender. I didnt expect this trade to go through I had tried for Boogie but with Dekker hurt I really didnt have any trade chips and really didnt even get close. Kemba is expected to take Beverley's role in the starting lineup and Beverley to 6th Man B (Gordon is 6 Man A).

We had a draft pick in the 2nd round but we did not sign our pick.

I decided I really wanted to make a play for Blake Griffin, the Clippers had a very poor season by their standards only winning 49 games and capturing the 5 seed. The Clippers didn't even make it to the 2nd round.

I declined every team option other than Sam Dekkers, including Clint Capela's with the plan of doing exactly what the Rockets attempted to do with Chandler Parsons. (Though 2k did not allow me to offer him a QO).

Griffin only scheduled meetings with the Rockets and Clippers and in the 4th day of Free Agency opted to sign with the Rockets. We would go on to re-sign Capela to a 5 year deal worth roughly 117 million. This may end up being an overpay but I like my odds of it being worth it. Clint is only 23 years old going into this year and it could end up being a slight discount.

I wanted to bring back Lance Stephenson but he signed a 4 year contract with the Hawks.

Our roster post free agency is:

                    James Harden
                    Kemba Walker
                    Trevor Ariza
                    Blake Griffin
                    Clint Capela
                    Patrick Beverley
                    Eric Gordon
                    Bobam Marjanovic
                    Jeff Withey
                    Tim Hardaway Jr.
                    Sam Dekker
                    P.J. Tucker
                    Channing Frye
                    Nigel Hayes
                    London Perrantes

Dekker will be hurt 4-6 months more as of opening day.

I did not make any other moves as we are now pretty handicapped as far as cap room goes, but it was worth it.

I was really surprised with how I managed Free Agency and was surprised I was able to pull all of this off.

With this new roster I feel I will be able to easily contend and beat the Warriors with a solid inside force. We do lose a bit of shooting but hopefully we can make up for it with rebounding and an inside scoring presence.

I will be able to keep 2 All-Star caliber players on the floor at all times (Harden, Griffin, Walker, Capela).

I am loving this Expansion mode having done a few teams now. My focus in my previous 3 expansion teams was to draft my stars, avoid big name free agents, target cheap roll players to fill the holes. I decided to break that trend with my new Expansion team.

I created my own team, the Saint Louis Knights. The expansion draft, I use 11 players protected, netted me players like Paul Pierce, Mike Miller, Andrew Harrison, C.J. Wilcox among others.

2016-2017 Season: we go 35-47. Andrew Harrison has emerged as a player to develop. Yi was a FA addition that gave me some needed bench scoring. Signed Vince Carter and Doug McDerrmitt(sp) to platoon at SF. Drafted Harry Gillis with 12th pick.

2017-2018: we go 42-40 and get the 7th seed in the West. We lose a heart breaking game 7 to OKC with Westbrook dunking on Vince to win the game. Looking to spend some cash on some free agents like Boogie and Melo this offseason.
Relax, it's just a video game!

I LOVE the Expansion mode. I haven't had a basketball game in 8 years but this is everything I love in sports games.

I just wish I could find a few more templates. I am not crafty or savvy enough to make a good team myself but I'd like to find some good, realistic user created teams for Omaha and Vancouver for my next one.

My first MyGM I expanded the league to 36 teams with the San Diego Sails, Las Vegas Aces (my team), Spirits of St. Louis, Seattle SuperSonics, Louisville Liberty (because I didn't think PC 2016 would let the Kentucky Colonels back lol), and the Pittsburgh Ironmen.
My first season was a typical Expansion year ending in a lottery (7th pick). I ended up using all my cap room and traded that pick and a few more for a later 1st along with Bradley Beal & Ian Mahinmi. Between that and signing JR Smith, Nerlens Noel, and Delavadova and drafting Melo Trimble (PG from Maryland) I put together a 6th seed playoff squad.

About a quarter of the way through my 3rd year but I was offered Jordan Clarkson and a 2nd for Delavadova and a 1st so now my starting lineup looks like C Jokic, PF Noel, SF Jerami Grant, SG Beal, PG Clarkson, with Andre Roberson, Mahinmi, Bjelica, and JR Smith coming off the bench.

I´m currently doing a MyGM with the Spurs. I'm simulating games with the Simcast, and only playing the 4th quarter of every game.

I´m now at the All star break, and my record is 46-12. This puts me in 1st place in the west, but 2nd in the nba, as the Cavs have a record of 49-10.

At the beginning of the season I made a stupid trade, which I now regret, but it might benefit me in the long run. The trade I'm talking about, is:

Spurs trade: Manu Ginobili, Patrick Mills, Kawhi Leonard, 17, 18, 19 1st round picks (All lottery protected)

                          To Celtics for:

Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley.

                          Other trades I did:

                          Spurs trade: Danny Green

                          To the Trail blazers for:

Mason Plumlee, Kings 2018 2nd round pick.

I did this trade, because Pau Gasol is 36 Years old already, and is only getting worse, and Mason Plumlee was a solid backup, averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds from the bench. I had plans to use him as a starter, when Pau retires, or gets worse, but unfortunatly, Plumlee did not want to sign new deal with the spurs, so I traded him away to Wizards for Marcin Gortat.
This trade really screwed my team up, because my record before the trade was 38-6, but after making the move, I have gone 8-6.

At the beginning of the season David Lee tore his Achilles and is out for the season. My team owner wanted me to find a replacement PF with overall 75 or higher. Didn't find anyone good in the FA so I traded Bryan Forbes and Tony parker to the Pelicans for Tim Frazier and Terrence Jones.

I also moved around some scrubs, to even out the depth of the roster, and signed some FA's too, so I have 3 players in each position.

                          My Current roster:

                          PG: Isiah Thomas/Tim Frazier/Tony Wroten

                          SG: Avery Bradley/Garrett Temple/C.J. Wilcox

                          SF: Jae Crowder/Coty Clarke/Jakarr Sampson

                          PF: LaMarcus Aldridge/Terrence Jones/David Lee

                          C: Pau Gasol/Marcin Gortat/Kendrick Perkins

After much needed tweaking to the mode, my league is going quite well. I play as the Louisville Liberty and after 4 seasons we are extremely hated by Wizards (division rivals), the Virginia Storm (they traded me two first round picks) and the Cavs (we had two 7 game series in the playoffs). We are also able to win a title in year 4 as the youngest team in the NBA.

More importantly, the players in my league are much more dynamic. A rookie drafted 33rd (36 team league) in the first round won rookie of the year, while a rookie drafted 21st in the first round is the 4th highest rated center. I feel like an actual GM and now the choices I make can easily destroy my franchise.

The link below details how I play MyLeague. Looking forward to seeing how things play out!

^ might as well have done a franchise with the Celts and traded for LMA / Gasol

Lol, that is true! Getting those players would have been much easier, as they are getting up there in years and their trade value is not that high
But I went with the Spurs, because i like their constant success. I wanted to see, how long I could continue their Real life streak of 50+ wins each season. And besides, Celtics really wanted to get Kawhi. They made me 3 offers in 2 weeks.
