Has anyone noticed when you shoot from a cold spot on the floor the release is WAY faster? Or am I making this up in my head lol? The release feels super fast from cold spots because the shot meter is much shorter/smaller from cold spots. I get a very late shot from cold spots most of the time and green from hot spots with the same timing shot, frustrating.

Shot button will never be eliminated.

Prolly not and that's fine but they could do this... Make a "normal" or "skilled" menu choice when selecting PRO Am or Play now online. Normal would allow for button press during jumpshots and free throws while Skilled would make it where you could only use shot stick to shoot and x or square was changed to a new pass button like lob. This way if you wanted to play against people online who use only the stick for shooting (skill based) than you could play against only those types of people by choosing Skilled. That way you know if someone starts raining threes on you its not just cuz they went to youtube to find the rigged green release jumpshots...

Anybody know how to do stepback jumper? In 2k16 it was RS away from basket, now its a bad aiming :/

It's still RS away from basket but you have to hold sprint at the same time.

But no way there´s a green release ! ( Green Arrow NO / Green Release yes)

Same for Fadeawy Jumper in Post etc.

Ive used the stick since it was first available

Don't like it as much so far in 2k17.

I shoot sometimes off the move, it was muscle memory for me to pull the stick opposite from the basket when shooting on the move off a curl etc

Now it often leads to a mis-aimed shot.

I believe you can tap square on PS4 or X on Xbox to do a hop gather. While your player is in a hop gather animation hold the shot button to fill the shot meter for a step back jumper. Make sure your left stick isn't pointed at the rim or you'll do a hop step lay-up.

I believe 2K wants us to use the shot stick aiming for mostly 3's along the perimeter or standing shots. It's suppose to add skill to hitting open shots and rewarding players for mastering it's system. Otherwise i'd stick to the shot button to hit shots off the dribble.

Here's some information from the 2K gameplay blog as well. It's a great read for those that haven't read it already.


"So for those competitive gamers who want to maximize their shooting percentages, my advice is to migrate to the Pro Stick for those long range bombs. That doesn’t mean that Pro Stick jump shooters automatically have an advantage over Shot Button users however. It’s a risk/reward mechanic in that you actually might be hurting your shooting percentages if you’re inconsistent with how you move the Pro Stick, especially on the higher difficulty levels"

I tried using the stick in my first few games but it got annoying. I'm back to the button now and i haven't missed a beat.

In certain situations, I would prefer if you could aim at a camera relative angle.

Especially after a dribble move on the side its feels more fluent that way or in the post with hooks and fadeaways.

Does the shot feedback work in freestyle and scrimmage now? last time I checked it didnt.

I have the same issue.

I hope they are working on a fix for this. U also don't have on the fly defensive adjustments as well like stay home, shrink the floor etc. they have press and trap, full court etc.

another thing now is you're forced to have the shot meter turned on because of release timings on lay ups. which sucks, if you're like me and dont like having it turned on. i like timing shots myself and now its almost impossible to do that because in the corner of your eye theres the shot meter and its almost impossible not to look at it and use it inadvertently.

Man I love the shot stick now. Use it for all of my jumpers...feels rewarding knocking down shots, going on a hot streak with it.

I'm still not a huge fan of fades in the post with it though...
