I'm still not a huge fan of fades in the post with it though...

im wondering exactly how this is sposed to work since its impossible to just pull straight down on the stick when doing a pfade

On 2k cam, I'm confused how to shoot on the baseline? Straight down for a normal shot, or left/right? I'm missing when trying all options...

before the game released i was determined to use learn the shot stick!

and i gotta say i love it!!!

as a glass cleaner i can consistently hit a WIDE open 3 with a double-mint (thats what we call it, green arrow, green release) and i have NO BARS in my 3pt rating yet. ive missed WAY more than ive made but i can sink them if you leave me way open

another reason i love the shot stick is i can control so much more of my post moves timing now, hooks, post fades, up and unders, post stepbacks, post hop shots, and shimmies are WAY more controllable

im definitely in favor of the shot stick over the button

I use the shot stick but when I miss a 3, I'm wondering if it's because I pulled down a little to the left or right too much or if it was because "I just missed it".

after 3 years of shooting with stick I had to switch to X.

This addition sucks and should be optional at best.

This is my biggest gripe with it.

Also I didn't know up was for bank shot and down was for swish.

So I've been banking every single shot lol

Also can't do hop jumpers or post moves with the stick at all. Its a learning process for sure but feel the stick is only for wide open 3s with people with bad ratings.

Square just seems to make so much more sense to me.

They work for me.

Hook Shot-after backing down in the post, I'll etheir roll left or right with the triggers or do the semi-circle thing. Once your player beats the defender, I'll hold up on the stick and he goes into a hook shot animation.

Fades-the game even prompts you to press "x" once the ball is received down low near the baseline. You can ethier press "x" or hold the stick away from the rim for a fader.

Up-n-Under-easy peasy. Pump fake, wait for defender to jump and aim stick towards basket. It seems to be timing based cause if you wait a split second to late to make a move towards the rim, he'll shoot a close jump shot or the defense will recover and put you in a 2 man animation.

Post step back-tap "x" away from basket.

Haven't done the last two but I'm sure they are possible.

I prefer the 2K16 shot stick. It just feels more natural to me to pull the stick in a side on fadeaways or whatever.

Also the graphic/meter that shows where you pulled it seems off centre - straight down is 15 degrees to right according to the game so I have to shoot diagonally left. Free throws especially.

Could've lived without this change in 2K17.

You may not have your shot feedback turned on all the way. With it on it should say how much of a degree at the angle you pulled the stick down. It will say like 3° to the right or left. Which is pretty good, but not perfect.

I have it on, it's just when you're in the heat of the moment I'm not always concentrating on my stick angle when I have to take my mid range or 3's quickly.

Yeah they need to patch in an option where you can shoot with the shot stick with no penalty or bonus.
