Obviously don't have definitive proof (always wish we had more transparency on this kind of stuff), but I'm not seeing much that says it doesn't. I'm pretty positive I'm noticing a significant different in well-timed and poorly-timed layups and post moves, plus the shot meter/feedback works for layups and not jump shots in RP% which leads me to believe they are treated differently.

If layup timing is a forced feature on RP%, and I think it is, I really hope they can alter that in a patch this year. It simply isn't how I like to play my game, and I'm playing offline so my game isn't affecting anybody else.

I can confirm 100% no. Standard Superstar mode standard sliders layups with LeBron James I held the button the whole time to get a "bad release" layup and he missed about 25/30 and the makes were just wide open or breakaways. You can even test it for yourself.

Yeah, pretty much mirrors what I've experienced. I feel almost compelled to play with the meter now, and I really don't like looking at that thing.

Can't have a choice... same way you can't turn your free throws to be based % over performance online.

Wouldn't make it fair to those playing the game at the default settings. Also.. it's easy to get used to.

I don't think anyone's arguing that. The gripe is is that using Real Player % offline, against nobody, should give us the option to disable timing altogether. I don't play against anybody and my game affects nobody, I really have no interest in timing any of my shots.

Agreed! I'm OK with timing having MINIMAL affect when using real %, but I can't tell the difference. Between the layup timing not being consistent with the jumper timing, and having to aim jumpers with absolute only controls, I am having major issues scoring using real %.

I haven't shot over 40% yet. Even after the CPU slider patch, even when I can hold the CPU to a realistic %, I get blown out. I can't believe I feel this way, but I may have to put this down for a while. Way too frustrating.
Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?

Not to form an echo chamber, but you just said exactly what I've been thinking. There are definitely bugs with this game and unfulfilled wishlist items that have left me disappointed, but this is the thing making gameplay kind of unfun for me right now to the point where I'm considering stepping away altogether for a while.

dunks turning into layups needs to be patched tbh.

there is literally zero percent chance for success irrelevant of your ratings if someone comes in late and turns your dunk into a layup.

Id like to see the layup meter set for release from your player's hand as opposed to when his feet leave the ground, that makes no sense to me.
