It took me a few tries to really understand how to work my way around the timeout adjustments menus. Now that I've gotten used to the UI i'm fine with it, I just wish the adjustments actually stuck. I have ACE turned off everywhere but every time I call a timeout, it's just like others have said, all my POE's are on default settings. Even my individual defensive assignments get reset in the timeout screen.

The in-game play calling is a little too hectic for me, I just memorized the smart play command and roll with that every time I need a play, there's no way I'm going to press RB/LB to scroll through pages of plays in the middle of a 24 second shot clock. So I just stick with the regular post up, iso, smart play options.

I do wish these menu's were a little less intrusive as well. The game looks and feels so real till you see that big colored hexagon pop up. It's not awful but there's definitely room for improvement. I'd like a more subtle approach.

I can live with the design of the on the fly menus. I also like the idea of the clock radial screen in both menus. Still, the timeout menu is a nightmare. Not only because of the bugs, but also because of interface issues that need to be adressed, to sum up:

- Sub bug (we all agree, but it needs to be patched soon)
- Energy level as a number (this is very important to me as well, i dont want to estimate throughout a color if i have to sub someone out)
- Selected POEs do not stick/are not highlited
- sub all in/out is not possible in the timeout menu but in the on the fly menu, which makes no sense to me.

Some glitches here and there yet the design is pretty solid and easy to get through once you get to know what and how you do, it gets pretty quick and visible.

You could adapt and get used to it, instead of complaining about anything new that you personally don't get, and having it to change.

Or as others have already mentioned 2k, should focus on FIXING what is not working first, then proceed to changes

Timeouts and POE's were working previous years,
Now neither subs or POE's work properly.
The complaining would be significantly less if this was only a visual issue and this damn thing WORKED. But it doesn't.

Agreed. I know they had to push this game out early and everything, but making adjustments in basketball is an essential part of the game. With all the great hoops minds at 2K, I'm baffled that this was able to slip by them.

These things do NOT get through....no one coukd possibly play it and not notice it. The devs especially

Games simply get released with everyone knowing exactly what bugs are there...thus we get patches. Release dates are so tigh it means games simply go out with known bugs and patches fix it all up post release..

So if we leave ACE on, is it possible that because of the adjustments glitch, that no adjustments are being made?

Could that equate to why every single game I play, the scoring is THROUGH THE ROOF? I mean like 130-125 type stuff.....

I'm hoping they fix the adjustments and as a result it leads to lower FG% and scores.....

Dunno if it has bearing or not....

2k i love most things uve done but it was absolute dick move to fck with the sub menu again this year. they were perfect 4 years ago

There's simply too much to go through in too little time. You're lucky if you can make 3-4 changes if you know exactly where they are. God help you if it's a 20 second time out. And then the changes don't even last.

Further, I'm not even sure what half of it means--one of the defensive options is "make him work." WTF does that mean? That's not a formal name for an actual basketball concept.

Czar, who I think is great, has a video on the timeout menu and he says in it that he's not sure if the adjustments last until the next timeout or for 1-2 possessions, saying he isn't sure which version of the game we got.

What? How is that a thing? That's a HUGE deal, to put this entire system in and not even know whether the options last?

That right there ladies and gentlemen is the hard truth. Most people will never outside the pressures of the video games behind the doors.

Personally I'm just concerned about the radio silence on these issues....I'm hoping this isn't something they can't fix because it breaks a whole bunch of other stuff and they are just at a lose.

It is horrible thank you for this thread. Especially on My Team it's an absolute mess I almost don't even like playing the mode. I can't mass sub my bench in for my starters in a timeout?!

Please Devs make the timeout menu work. It is terrible how substitutions and PoEs are broken.

We can argue about the new graphical solution - some will say they'd rather stick to the old one - others will say they like the changes because it's more intuitive. But that's not the issue - because it's not working at all.

I just don't get why you decide to throw a system away which has been functioning perfectly.

Why not implement both "traditional" & "new" timeout menu in the game and let the user decide via game settings with which style to go with?

I'd call that user friendly
