Does anyone know if post-fadeaway is related to shooting attributes?

In MyTeam mode I've got James Edwards with 98 post-fadeaway, but pretty bad mid-range shooting attributes with 68 open, 35 contested, 34 off-dribble. My question is: would the 98 post-fade attribute be affected by the distance of the shot? He's got good close shooting with 97 shot close. Should I just plan to try to post-fades from close distance? At what actual point is it considered mid-range?

    Thanks

Good question. In 2K16 i came to the conclusion that they did matter in a way, just judging from anecdotal experience with different sorts of Players ...

If u wanna go sure u can try it out by urself. Just create a player with post fade 90, mid range 0, make some shots, then set mid range on 99 and do it again... just an idea

interested to know more about that too, just to know if i have to spend my precious vc in upgrading my post scorer center's mid range, for him to be able to score better with fade aways and hop steps a little farther from the basket

same questions about the "shot close", i didn't upgrade this at all cause if i'm close i do lay ups or hooks rather than shoot, but i'd be interested in knowing if it has an impact on fadeaways close to the basket...
