Too Many Injuries in MyGM
I think it was either knee or ankle.
Initially it looked like he was jumping up and landed awkwardly. But he didn't go down until the timeout was called (he was actually running fine back on defense lol)

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
Definitely a problem with the jump shots and ankle injuries. I had Lillard with 2 different ankle injuries as well as McCollum getting hurt the same way after recovering from the first within the first 4 games in My League.
And all of the injuries in Play Now (at least one a game) were ankle sprains/breaks. I don't mind the frequency of injuries, but there's definitely something off given that they all happen when the player lands after taking a jump shot, contested or otherwise.Comment

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
Wait...aren't there injury sliders in the settings for play now ppl? I know you can adjust the severity, etc in MyLeague so why are people complaining?http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
I play MyGM as well. I could have sworn there were injury sliders I could set before I started. Amount of injuries, severity and something else that escapes my mind. I think they are still there after you start the season.
If there are sliders for injuries, why aren't people testing them?
Also, doesn't anyone pay attention to the real NBA? Players have been going down at an alarming rate lately. Superstar players to scrubs. Westbrook, A. Davis, Blake, C. Paul, Paul George....there will be some season ending injuries each year in the L. I think so far, the game correctly reflects that.
One thing that bothers me is how often people complain about a gameplay intangible that in real life isn't consistent or capable of being potrayed correctly in a video game, like injuries or trade logic. People were ready to write off 2K back in the day when players like Lebron left the Cavs in the offseaon saying things like this never happen in real life. Guess what, he ended up switching teams, not once but twice. Nobody in life could have predicated K.Durant would leave and go to the Warriors of all teams. Nobody would have though D. Rose would miss 2 complete seasons, Westbrook would miss half a year. Anthony Davis hurts himself every year multiple times. When the game does it, people cry. When it happen in real life, people go "oh, 2K had it right all along". These are called intangibles.
With the way the system translate into the video game world, I feel that 2K has nailed it. Plus they give us a plethora of options to change it to our liking. Etheir way, people will never be happy.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
I'm currently simming a season in MYGM with the Lakers. Going to stop every so often to see how the injuries are around the league
After 6 games
-6 injuries that are a month + in recovery. 18 Injuries in general.
After 17 games
-23 injuries that require a month + recovery. 9 ankle injuries.
After 30 games
-24 injuries that require a month + recovery (most of them old injuries)
After 54 games
-24 injuries that require a month + . Lots of stars out, two of my Lakers just got hurt and will be out a month. Pacers are missing Stucky, PG, and Teague.
All Star Weekend
-Wiggins goes out with an ACL. 30 injuries that require a month + in recovery. Still lots of stars, lots of leg injuries not too many ankle injuries.
70 games in
-Wiggins, Ben Simmons, Jordan Hll, Aminu all out for season. All leg injuries.24 injuries that are a month + in recovery.
82 Games
-Add melo, Mo Williams, and CJ Miles to season ending injuries (although the season is over lol) 30 injuries to end the year that require a month + recovery.
OKC swept warriors and OKC went on to win the finals vs the raptors..lol
Most of the season there were 25+ players out an extended amount of time with injuries. I'd like to see that number go down to at least 10-15. Most of the time, NBA players have minor injuries.Comment

I'll take a look to see if there is a slider during set up of MYGM. Yes superstars go down and 2k is doing a great job of that. But an injury every game and it being pretty consistent with jump shot injuries is a bit odd.Comment

Here is a link to all the exsiting injuries around the league. 2K has it right IMO. Look at all those season enders.

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
I'm not saying that this should be a regular occurrence on 2k, but I'd take it over the no injuries of 2k16. If it's too crazy then I will come up with a system. Last year my system was if a player went down with an in-game injury then I would use Random.Org to determine how many weeks they were out for since they couldn't get a long term injury in-game. This year I may have to do the opposite of that.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
Alabama Crimson Tide
Green Bay Packers
Boston Celtics
New Orleans Pelicans

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
Tell that to the Pelicans last season when more than half of their opening season roster went down with season ending injuries.

Yes yes, but honestly most of those players are injury prone like no other. On 2k, i'm seeing superstars go down. Not saying it doesn't happen, but if we could just have the option to tone it down a tad... that would be great.Comment

Re: Too Many Injuries in MyGM
yes, HOWEVER, I turned it all the way down to 10 and I was still getting too many injuries during the game. I just turned it all the way off. I remember I had a game where 4 players got injured, 2 from my team and 2 from theirs.
I appreciate 2k trying to make injuries a more realistic thing, but this is too much lolComment
