Don't think i've seen a thread on this yet. Is anyone else having this problem? Playing on HOF default sliders and the CPU seems to be taking about 9-10 stepback 3's a game. Even if they're at the 2 point line, they decide to take that stepback. Hopefully this gets patched because it looks ridiculously unrealistic.

Agreed. The step back 3's AND threes in transition are out of hand. It's one thing if certain guys like Steph, Klay, etc do it, but everyone does...even guys who are not know to do that; it's imbalanced. It's hardcoded too, so I wonder if adjusting the step back tendency would even help... probably not much. Definitely needs to be patched. -

As far as transition 3´s:Agreed. The step back 3's AND threes in transition are out of hand. I lowered the 3Pt Tendendency to 42 and never see them.
The CPU goes for the easy lay up, Westbrook even made a crossover against me and puts it in, looked awesome.Don´t play video games, play BasketballComment

a better approach would be to edit the “pull up in transition“ and the “stepback jumper“, no ? Number of 3s is fine and worst case just lower the global tendency. That player tendency also influences sim stats, the 2 i named dont.Comment

I think some of the stepbacks are just a way to get the AI to make sure it's taking a three instead of a long two. As for the threes in transition, it seems pretty typical for the modern NBA, I haven't noticed anything too weird. Might take time to get used to after last year.

If you want to see less pull up 3s from certain players, you will have to edit their player 3pt shot tendency down to 70. The default rosters have players with their 3pt shot tendency way too high. At 70 max, it seems to be the sweet spot for me when I'm playing against the CPU.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Funny, that's exactly where I have my three point tendency. I don't see them as much either, but at default there is an imbalance. Transition 3's is not even a tendency you can adjust directly when editing players so it's an issue. Shouldn't have to reduce threes overall just to adjust that.Comment

"Pull up in transition" tendency is there. I figure 3 point and midrange tendency will guide if he pulls up for 3 or from closer in.Funny, that's exactly where I have my three point tendency. Its a tendency issue. Started last year and the way to get rid of it is to edit everyone's "step back" and "pull up in transition" tendencies, and unfortunately its always going to be in mycareer.
Alternatively, there might/should be some sort of logic they can change in the game code so players who are "open" aren't taking stepback jumpers and instead just go right into a normal jump shot.
i call it the curry conundrum, they tried too hard to make curry be curry instead of just editing his tendencies properly, and it effected the entirety of the game.Comment

Pull-up in transition does not affect transition threes in the way that you think. Doing that too much will affect other jumpers as well. It tied to the CPUs recognition of when they are open... Moving or not. Combining the pull-up, three point, shot tendencies, shot IQ and the hard coding.

for sure, it helps some, not much but some, but i really think transition pull ups are mostly just a coding issue from them trying to make curry take 28 foot pullupsPull-up in transition does not affect transition threes in the way that you think.
