By the way, bad enough that I need to spend 700 VC for a fricking elbow pad, but I've got to spend it TWICE, if I want my player to look similar in MyCareer, MyPark, and Pro Am. Since when does it cost basically an NBA game check to get ankle wraps? No compression shorts for you, Prez - you're still not a 70 OVR yet.

I'd be fine with VC if they gave us the ability to purchase inexpensive clothing options to customize our player in MyCareer mode only. And the ability is RIGHT THERE - they just need to move your pro-AM gear into the same category as your MyPark gear, and leave your MyCareer clothing as an option by itself.

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
It's been this way since mycareer started. Even before VC. Do y'all remember your ovr in 2k10 after the combine? It was the 30s lol. It won't change. Get used to it

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
You guys do realize the OVR doesn't take affect until you get drafted right??? Your college games your ratings are boosted dramatically high for the sake of the story. You blow high school and College out the water. Now because you have done that. The media, the shoe companies , your agent etc ... put a lot of faith in your POTENTIAL ... now it's time to show and prove. And this year they have Cut scenes for consistent negative play which is something i do like

Re: MyCareer Has a Realism Problem
Remember when Sebastion Telfair was hyped to take over the league WITH LeBron James? Lol Stephen Marbury had a whole documentary about him too.
Andrew Wiggins: toted as the "Next LeBron James"
1 year later Ben Simmons still in college called the "Next LeBron James", then taken #1 in the draft.
No one knows how these guys are going to turn out, hell Simmons just broke his foot we don't know if he'll end up being very good at all.
The media is never shy about giving a guy NBA Great comparisons and trying to find the next big thing. Most often the media falls on its face, as does that player.
And again, for being drafted as a 55 overall, for all the hype Pres gets, without being able to run, shoot, dribble, layup... you can still by the end of your ROOKIE SEASON finish with an average 27ppg 7 assists and 8 Rebounds with probably 3 steals and 2 blocks. Lol it's a game, your overall doesn't dictate everything.
if you're player is going to suck it should be because you suck at the game not because the game is putting unrealistic ratings on you.Comment

I love the idea of MyCareer, but the execution is deeply flawed. For 1, why is everything worth doing packed into the first year? Its called a Career, not MySeason. And yeah I don't like who money is used in this mode either. Why do sneakers cost more then i make a game!? How is it mycareer, when I don't make my own decisions? And why is the scanning so bad?
Also, why mid season are me and Justice Starting over Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozen? Im a point guard and so is he!? So im 6'3" and he's like 6'2".Comment

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
Finally had a chance to experience MyCareer for the first time since the next gen switchover. It really bums me out to see all this mode could be then seeing everything it actually is.
There's so many great aspects in place - using my own face is one of the coolest things (and apparently a ton easier than what I saw from people last year), the activities and practice make sense, there's interactions with other players... but the whole storyline and movie-plot thing is just So. Unbelievably. Awful.
All I want to do, after I literally create myself, is to experience my own personal career in the NBA. Instead, I'm thrust into this strange and terribly unrealistic storyline where I have a fake teammate that will undeniably lead to some sort of cheaply manufactured drama that will push me as far away from a realistic 2016-17 NBA experience as possible.
It's just an unfortunate feeling. The realism of creating myself is just at such complete odds with what the mode actually is, where I'm forced to be anything but myself while doing things I'd never do, saying what I'd never say, and experiencing something that'll never happen in the NBA this year.
I understand the idea of me playing in the NBA is fantasy in itself, but I wish it was a fantastical element (myself) being injected into a realistic environment instead of a fantastical element being injected into a fantastical environment with forced drama with fake players and all the other stuff that comes with it.Comment

IMO, as bad as the storyline aspect is, the gameplay/A.I. for mode is actually much, much worse.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
My main problem is Justice. Not as a addition to the game but more that he is so good and takes away one starting spot. I mean if you are a PG and move to OKC or the Clippers for example, Westbrook and CP3 get send to the bench which is ridiculous! Who would want that? It ruins MyCareer for me this year.Comment

He has close to Sharpshooter's shooting ability. He has Playmaker levels of ball control. He can finish almost like Slasher. He has max defensive stats.
It fills like a slap in the face from 2K. They decide to give you restrictive caps, then they give us a created teammate that laughs at those caps.Comment

Re: MyCareer Has a Realism Problem
My Career has a cutscene problem. Stop trying to act like you want to produce "The Last of us 2" rather than a basketball game.
Also stop forcing people into "themes" and design a system for offline-users to actually play it as a career mode rather than a means to enter online-modes, that way i as an offline user would not be handicapped by restrictions put in place to "protect" other online users.
I have no desire to use my player online, all i want is start as a decently rated player and choose my own parameters of playing the game (heck, i would even enjoy being able to limit my potential to improve).Pro fighter (UFC), I game! (PS4/XB1), This is my life!
Love, Live, Life and always game!Comment

I don't understand it either. The rating you start with is terrible, when you can see players like Simmons, Ingram and Kris Dunn rated more than 70 and 75, yet you're the worst in the first round and still get picked in the lottery.
Why is Justice better than you, when he goes undrafted? Isn't it your player who should be better?
And when you get doubleteamed, you can pass it to Justice, who's WIDE open and got amazing 3PT shot and he still misses 50%. His defense is rated 99 in my game, but I still see Klay, Kyrie, Dwayne Wade and even flippin' J.R. Smith dropping him like he was a fly.
It makes no sense, it's sad to think about.Comment

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
the realism problem with this mode to start is ethnicity, second you got stuck with this Buffy character with very bad clothes all fitted, like for real not all want to dress like trappers. i despise the player customisation for 2k so bad.(body type, hair, neck is gone, face scan is so far from what you actually look always with the wide eyes and big mouth). 3rd your ratings, how can you be that low when your in top 5 pick seriously your a player to watch out and you enter NBA with 50?????? the F. and last your broke, like you cannot even get a tattoo a shoe even the cheapest one, gears i mean this should not even part of VC to be honest once you got on pro this all should be available. you got contract for a milli??
P.S looks good with a fade and you stuck with this generic hair looking like a homosapien seriously 2K hire a good art department or at least aware of whats good out there.Comment

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem
I have to say I totally agree, at first I was excited for mycareer and saw I was a 50 overall. I was like okay I can grind and get him decent. I play on HOF I'm not amazing but I do okay, my guy is averaging 7 points, shooting 40 percent, average 4 assists, and 4 rebounds a game, turnovers are high with 2. Now I don't think I should be able to enter the NBA and dominate everyone but when I enter the game and can't nail an open shot without putting VC in then its annoying. I was supposed to be one of the best players in college.
You choose an arch type and even that skill isn't NBA ready I would be okay if I started low 60s and say I made myself a sharpshooter I had good shooting ability, but no. After awhile the grind doesn't feel worth it.
Oh and lets not mention that Justice starts off better as you, but so does Denver... In MyCareer on the bucks Denver is actually the starter, he averages 22 minutes I get 25. I don't know his numbers off hand but I saw the other game I played me and him tied with points at 16.. I had the better +/- thoughLast edited by gausec; 12-12-2016, 11:33 AM.Cal is turning more guys into millionaires than wall-street.
