Imo the percentage are not the biggest problem, that may be tuned with sliders. The problem is the high pace of the offense. Almost every missed shot or turnover results in a fastbreak with easy open shots. Also in halfcourt plays it takes seldom more than 10 seconds to get a good shot.

If you lower the sliders the result would be more missed shots, but an even higher pace, because every rebound leads to a fastbreak. The only solution would be a better defense on both sides.

The problem is that we can change tendencies except pace. If we only had a go in transition slider...

Re: Thread For OFFLINE Users To Discuss Tuner Changes, Patches, etc.

This year the game itself is less frustrating but there are too many changes. I bought the game on early tip off then...

            Difficulty levels were off
The first update came out (sliders)

Finally i was happy to play it played great...but

            The patch came out...
Shooting percentages went back to their previous state
The first post update came out (numbers were acceptable)
The second post patch update came out (numbers were almost perfect)

The game itself could be playable...the problem is that it doesn't last a couple of weeks or mounths...

The problem is the continous repetition of the cycle...

Even cranking shooting sliders down to 42 doesn't help much at all. It's incredibly disappointing because this is the only game I play year round.

This has been the most unplayable version for me since 2004. I don't know, is what it is. Park and pro am guys complained they couldn't make more than half of their shots, and it's back to making everything.

Not that I am singling you out but there is a lot of hyperbole in this thread as a whole.
If you want to play on default sliders then yes I agree there are issues with too high fg%. But to say that loweing shooting sliders dosen't help much is just plain false.
Lower your shooting sliders/offensive consistency to 35 across the board and come back to me. I think you'll struggle to get over 40%.

Try out Turty11's roster when you have time. He only has Sixers thru Magic done & Warriors but I've seen much better results than the default roster. Currently playing them on Hall of Fame.

                  Exactly.

If you're playing default sliders, that's on you. The difficulties are their to provide a challenge to you.

If lowering the sliders to 42 aren't giving you the results you're looking for, lower them further. 42 isn't the cap. I myself am finding better success lowering them to the 35-40 range on HOF to get better % consistency.

The PACE is the most difficult to find a work-around. But i love the game, just would like when a patch to occur, get the notes, and have time to lab-test some sliders. This constant patching is ruining the out-of-the-box game.

Drop the game. Then give the community (especially online community) time to get used to the new direction of the game. THEN decide if it's something that needs "fixing", or if it's something that's working but the community needs to adapt to.

My lecture for the offliners who love this game:

Work with what you got. Realism is an illusion.

You need to forget about the stats and focus more on NBA fundamentals being respected. In my perspective, the object of the game is provide yourself with a challenge. Da_Czar said it best back with NBA 2K12. Sliders should be adjusted by what you do best and what you do poorly.

Terrific jump shooter? Lower the shooting/offensive sliders so you don't see much success.

Having a hard time defending the paint? Increase defensive sliders (block, help defense, steal). Or lower CPU shot success.

To me, this game is way too offensive friendly out of the box, the defens isn't really respected. I am more of a defensive type or player, so I love to see clankfests. That's just me.

I don't think tuning the shot-making matters when you play offline. You can just adjust sliders yourself for that.

What I want patched is stuff that we are unable to change. The big ones, in my mind:

                      - Input lag on dribbling
                      - Animation duration/recovery on screens
                      - Defensive first steps/movement (especially when switching to another defender), since its too slow to recover realistically by switching
                      - Better AI (sick of defenders leaving their man completely in an unrealistic way, then not being able to recover)

If they fix those, I'll start playing 2K17 again.

Then there are a couple other ones that would be nice, but not a deal breaker if they don't patch them.

                      - Ability to edit body types
                      - Ability to add headbands
                      - Ability to add the hidden dunk packages
                      - Ability to use "create a jumpshot" outside of MyCareer
                      - Ability to edit signature alley-oops and celebrations
                      - Delete the stupid identical trampoline cutscene that happens EVERY halftime of EVERY game.
                      - Delete that annoying d-bag coach that occasionally dominates time-outs. He doesn't look like a coach (too young), doesn't sound like a coach (doesn't inspire motivation or confidence), and talks too much (a simply "Great job guys" or "Pick it up" would be fine, if said with emotion and authority)

I mostly play quick games offline, but the state of the game has caused me to stick to 2K16 for now. Once they fix the first things I mentioned, I'll give 2K17 another try. But they haven't added anything new in quick games that gives me any reason to play 2K17 instead of 2K16, except a couple of rookies and better looking skin tones and faces. I can see that they added new animations and stuff which would make me want to play 2K17 (because the new ones look great), however, the entire package is a mess and just feels frustrating right now. For example, doing a lay-up at the rim feels great, but getting to the rim feels clunky and awful. The dribbling animations look good, but actually timing them effectively and stringing them together to actually be meaningful offensively feels like luck, with the amount of delay.

I said this in a longer post I made last night, but I see the effort from 2K. I simply think they needed more time to finish what they started. That's why I'm optimistic that their patch will be what they actually intended.

Something has changed. 3pts are the same but something has changed inside.

I don't agree. The game offline could and should play as a sim...and no, sliders are not the right solution expecially if one day they are good the next they are not...

We cannot spend the whole year testing or compensating updates (based on park players humor)

I dont see why offline has to be changed when online does since it was stated that it were separated sliders.

We shouldnt have to be always compensating, then again, the tools are there for us to adjust as we see fit.

Within this thread percentages shouldnt be an issue, contact when onball either, pass accuracy also shouldnt, we have various sliders at our dispossal ... now, pace, animations, pass speed, AI defense, plays development, functionality, sim stats and other related things, should be asked to devs, as we have little to no say on them.

I'm an Offline MYGM player. I'm liking where the game is at overall. The few things I would like in my gm is the ability to watch the games. Or to play user vs user games. It would be cool to be able to watch playoff games (we don't need to be rewarded VC for it).

Game actually plays pretty well with slider adjustments. I'm not a guy that likes to tweak a massive amount of sliders so I simply evened everything out except on SS CPU defense/ fouls and had a great, competitive game....

I had all but put the game down but if I keep getting games like this it will hold me over until 1.05...

%'s ended up being around 45% for both teams..
