Like I said you can't have every ball swipe be a steal. It literally ruines the game. It's like if you made shooting the same way. That means users would be swiping every single time and chance they got. Or users trying to time every single shot release. You should be trying to get good looks not timing a perfect shot each time. Timing should be a secondary thing.

The only thing I liked about 2K17 was the steal system. It was unique. I loved it. I don't think stealing is easy and like jeebs showed, that's how I get my steals. I also get steals as a free safety. I rarely get an on-ball steal but when I do it's because I timed it and recovered faster than the AI lol.

It ruins the game when people can dribble nonstop even when I time my steal perfectly lol . Dribble gods abuse this .

I turned on 2k17 just to play around last night.... And man...Anyone could trigger a on ball steal on anyone..... using the right stick.... Yea that's probably why I hated it.

So Rockie you want to be able to steal the ball every time you hit it? You can't see that you'd be making a thread called "Too many on ball steals" next year lol

If I’m guarding a “dribble gawd “ in pro am 5 out offense and he’s pulling his best combos . Even spamming some dribble moves . He’s going to get me a few times. That play where I learn his moves , get my angles right etc ... and touch the ball with my hands something needs to happen . Either he picks up his dribble or the ball comes lose. Just because a guy has high ball control doesn’t mean the ball needs to completely ignore my contact so he can continue doing the same 5 moves of doom over and over . Why is that ok for him to dribble forever but I can’t rip the ball with precise timing ?

I think what you said has some logic to it. But dribblers in the NBA don't lose the ball like what your asking for. Rarely does a dribble with high ratings actually loose balls to players timing him up. I do agree maybe we need a pick up the dribble animation. But how often does that even happen. Dribblers only pick up the ball when a second defender comes into the picture. Even then some one the best dribblers can get around double teams with their dribble. That's why I think the current dribbling system is a perfect for real life situations. So if guy works for his dribble to be in the high 90's. Then he deserves to be able to dribble as much as he wants. We do have the stamina bar decrease when they use it. Maybe for Park they should increase the effect to make dribblers more efficient with their dribbles. Most of the time in head to head if you use dribbles moves over and over by the time you get to the basket. A lot of players can't finish at the rim even with the slightiest of contest. They should make that effect even more in "my" modes. So players learn to use teammates and run a offense.

It's usually better to not block a shot in the paint.

I don't understand why there isn't a recovery animation for people who get blocked so that they can't grab their own block all the time.

Is this what nba players are doing in real life every play ?

You see here.... THis isn't a problem with on ball steals. Even if you had what your asking for. You wouldn't be able to steal the ball from him. This is a dribbling mechanic problem. He just shouldn't be able to combo those moves together. He should get the broken dribble animation when you combo those moves together.

And most those plays are on 2 on 2's....... Waaaaay toooo much space. Show me someone doing all that in a 5 on 5.

You said he should’ve gotten a broken dribble animation and I definitely agree. That’s a lot of dribble power even if it it’s just 2 on 2.

This video is that same guy vs a pure lockdown . 99 on ball defense , 99 steal. He reaches too much but he actually touches the ball at the 5:50 mark . In most instances 2k would’ve ignored this and let the guy keep dribbling .

I'm sorry... but he is reaching waaaaaay too much.

I'm not saying I'm best either. But if a guy is reaching that much. He doesn't deserve to be a defender. I'm sure he could of stopped much more easier. Must users are looking for the clear wide open path the the basket after doing a 100 moves. But all you need to do is just stand there. You might get blown by a few times once he catches on. But he won't be all over the place like those videos. But there is no stamina in my park right?

if you watch the above video you'll notice I never reach. I just stand they.

Another tip a lot of users don't know about. On defense.... just like offense... You can feather the controller. Tricking the ball handler into think your going one way. And then feathering right back in front of the ball handler.

the dribbler even said he was low on stamina in the 1 on 1 lol. Seen the second half of that video ? There was a no reach clause in place for game 2 . This happens in 5 out offense in pro am . So yes there is enough space . I usually attempt charges of it gets that bad.

But in the midst of all that dribbling park or no park , you don’t think he should’ve lost control of the ball , picked up his dribble or something ? It was nothing but smooth transitions.
