Every Badge in NBA 2K17 is Extremely Powerful Here's Why: A Guide

Every badge in this game is very powerful (with the exception of a few)

Every player needs every badge, and I will intend to show that to you through this list.

It's very reasonable that over the course of 1 game, you can activate most, if not all badges.

I wrote the sticky on the badges, but it's not apparently obvious that you will be doing all of these things that activate these badges.

If you want to have a slight edge, these badges are obviously beneficial to your player.

I'm currently only missing Pick Dodger and Clutch Performer:

Mental:

Spoiler

• Spark Plug: Play Pro-Am? Timeouts are called. This is a momentum booster badge.
  
  
• Clutch Performer: Again, this is a momentum boost to becoming hot in close games.
  
  
• Championship DNA: is it possible for two players to be next to you?
  
  
• Microwave: Do you like to get hot? Do you like to have attribute boosts?
  
  
• Enforcer: Unlocks animations to prevent and-1's. (gives you flagrants, but it's not like you can get rim-protector without getting this)
  

Inside Scoring:

• Acrobat: Do you do layups of any kind? You need acrobat.
  
  
• Tear Dropper: Oftentimes basic layups will come out as shots which apply the tear-dropper badge.
  
  
• Putback King: Do you every try to get an ORB? What if you get a long ORB? Wouldn't be surprised if the boost still applies after shooting.
  
  
• Relentless Finisher: Do you go to the rim at all? This badge activates every time.
  
  
• Post Spin Technician: Any time you go into protect dribble and drive, you get this badge to pop-up.
  
  
• Drop-Stepper: This one is very strong is you know what you're doing. One of the few badges that won't 'come up out of nowhere'
  
  
• Dream-Like Up & Under: Do you pump-fake? Yeah, you need this badge. Not limited to the actual "up and under"
  
  
• YOU NEED BOTH OF THESE. Regardless of play type. They often come up interchangeably despite what is assumed to be the needed badge for the given play.
  
• Pick & Roller: Any time you set a pick, you get a boost to scoring. Obvious.
  
• Pick & Popper: Same as above. This is obvious.

Outside Scoring:

• Corner Specialist: Every archetype can green their corner 3. No reason not to have this.
  
  
• Mid-Range Deadeye: Every archetype can green their mid-range.
  
  
• Deep-Range Deadeye: Again, every archetype can green their corner 3. this works.
  
  
• Limitless Range: I wouldn't be shooting limitless if you're not a sharpshooter, but if the situation arises, at least give it a chance.
  
  
• Difficult Shots: Is there a chance you will be moved or bumped while you shoot? at all? Or you move yourself? Need this badge.
  
  
• Tireless Scorer: This is one the strongest badges in the game, practically every time you score this will reasonably pop-up.
  
  
• Catch & Shoot: This is obvious. Every position can green, this is a part of that.

YOU NEED BOTH OF THESE. Regardless of play type. They often come up interchangeably despite what is assumed to be the needed badge for the given play.

• Pick & Roller: Any time you set a pick, you get a boost to scoring. Obvious.
  
• Pick & Popper: Same as above. This is obvious.

Playmaking:

• Ankle Breaker: Again, if you're not the playmaker, this is one of the iffy ones. I'm still waiting to use the lebron cross with my C and crack somebody though.
  
  
• Flashy Passer: This badge influences passing out of double teams and jump passes.
  
  
• Break Starter: Do you ever get rebounds? passing accuracy is a useless stat in this game. This badge is much stronger than 99 pass accuracy even on bronze.
  
  
• PNR Mistro: Any time there is a pick on offense, you get a boost to your shot. Watch as a playmaker greens ridiculous shots after a pick, it's ridiculously strong currently.
  
  
• Lob City Passer: This should be gotten alongside dimer, no reason not to get it.
  
  
• Dimer: If you can only have 1 badge, you pick dimer. 100%. This is the best badge in the game.

Defending:

Spoiler

• Chase-Down Artist: The ability to do chase-down blocks is locked behind this badge. Regardless of how fast you are, without this badge, you're pretty much worthless unless it was a bad shot anyway. Well worth the cheesy speed boost it gives you to block shots.
  
  
• Defensive Stopper: Negates badges by 1 or 4 and lowers stats. This is obvious.
  
  
• Charge Card: Because you don't need to take "full on 100%" charges this year in pro-am, this badge helps you get those calls that are from turboing to the side of you, instead of directly into you.
  
  
• Pick Pocket: This is obvious.
  
  
• Rim Protector: This single badge allows you to block shots. Literally. The difference between not having this badge and bronze is night and day. Well worth the grind.
  
  
• Pick Dodger: To negate brick wall, duh.
  
  
  

Athleticism and Rebounding:

• Hustle Rebounder: This is by-far one of the strongest badges in the game next to Eraser for non bigs in terms of effectiveness.
  
  
• Lob City Finisher: The lowered caps mean you are more liable for missing these. Particularly without the badge.
  
  
• Posterizer: This badge unlocks dunk animations and merely the ability to go up and dunk the ball that you wouldn't have otherwise.
  
  
• Bruiser: Any time you make contact with a player, they lose stamina. This makes that amount even more.
  
  
• Brick Wall: When you set a pick, this badge allows the animation given, especially for a well-set pick, to give the PNR Ball-Handler even more room and space.
  
  
• One Man Fast Break: The speed boost off a DRB allows you to push the ball up the court, regardless if you intend to score or not.

I try to get the tireless scorer and difficult shot badge in the last days....but something i do wrong!?!? I scored many many times if the meter flashes red, but i don't got the badge at all! is there a bug or what i'm doing wrong? same with difficult shots...i do dribble moves before i shoot the ball....

spin shots 100% count, you can't mess that up.

Do I really need tireless scorer and difficult shots on a Stretch 4?

70% of my shots are spot up
20% are layups/dunk
10% are bad shots that I don't mean to shoot

Also is there a minimum stat requirement for acrobat? My layups are like 60.

its for people who run around with turbo on the entire game and spam 50 crossovers before they shoot to not be penalized to a D/F grade for shooting with no stamina

Stop trying to generalize everyone, good lord.

For those asking about the benefit, if you play Pro Am, you'll find stamina is somewhat hard to come by late game. Tireless Scorer helps keep your stats from suffering a lot when you still need to break open when you don't have anywhere near as much stamina as in the first quarter.

Also helps on fast breaks when you're out of stamina, but still need to get to the rim and score.

I'd probably say it's a lot more beneficial for backcourt play.

Robert Horry MyTeam HOF Catch & Shoot, lol I mean you can practically "overpull" (hope its the correct word) his shot & shotmeter at will out of a catch, he hits everything. The tolerance at which the game seems to still consider it a good shot gets so wide its not even funny...

yes , badges are like magic super powers. I had concern about em since 2K15 and unfortunately it breaks gameplay balance more and more.

i wasn't generalizing anyone. i was just stating that those badges are specifically for those people because in a normal game they don't actually get used more than maybe 1% of the time.

Laola, i got frustrated with my sf shot creator because his slow athleticism and speed with ball got him contested even after pick and rolls

Im planning on a sf point forward who would use hof pick and roller to shoot after pick and rolls. So using him as a shot creator basically
