Re: No ban for doing the 98ovr glitch, heres what 2k should do.
I'm pretty sure u can get to 99 ovr if u max out all the stats u can earn from practices. I'm a 96ovr after earning all upgrades and attributes from practices.Comment

The way you get the last 10 (to get to 99 ovr and 135 attributes) is by becoming a Legend rep.
That said, I see what the Devs means... these people cheated and got to skip the insane Rep Grind, but they won't have an advantage over other Legends... but how many of us will ever get Legend? This year being a Legend 1 is like being a Legend 6 in 2k16.Comment

Re: No ban for doing the 98ovr glitch, heres what 2k should do.
This continued failure to police the game is yet another indicator of how 2K isn't ready for esports. All major esports deal with cheaters in a swift and harsh manner.
In 2K15 people were running around the park for months with hacked 7'0" point gods and 2K did nothing about it. Last year there were Pro Am teams exploiting the matchmaking system and colluding with friends to boost their weekly point totals in the Road to the Finals qualifying events. This year a competitive advantage could be gained simply by repeating a widely spread practice glitch and elevating your MyPlayer's attributes to levels that won't be attainable until hundreds of hours of play.
2K has bought their esports cart and loaded it full without having enough horses to pull it forward.
You can't have a legitimate 3 vs. 3 park tournament (like they plan to this weekend) when so many competitors will be using glitched MyPlayers.
I don't understand 2K's inaction on this issue when all it takes is one look at a person's rep level/overall rating to see that they have clearly cheated the system to get their rating above 95.
Banning these people's accounts would probably even generate extra VC sales, since many of the cheaters would just make another account and begin leveling up another character to 95 overall.
This would be a win/win for 2K and for the good members of the playing community.Last edited by jyoung; 10-23-2016, 05:08 PM.Comment

Re: No ban for doing the 98ovr glitch, heres what 2k should do.
Very disappointing move to say those players will not be banned.
The only possible reason for reacting like this I see, is that there was really a way the people did this without purpose, and 2k nows that the fault is on their side.
I saw streams with people being 98 having ALL 150.
to me the case is clear, find the glitched players, reset their attributes down to zero and let them Place them new within 125/135 bars and give them the vc needed for this ( or not, as a kind of punishment). But I really dont know if this is technically possible because of the "local save file"
Its just not fair looking forward to pro am tournaments and other events coming!Comment

The Online CAPS for Myplayers are harsh as is, being a 98 overall only allows you a few more attribute points to fill out your capped myplayer. Being a 98 overall doesnt have the same effect as being a 99 overall in past games, where you were more well rounded. even as a 98 overall, you wind up sacrificing one area of your game just to get to that overall. It's really not that serious, just play good team basketball and everything should be fine.Comment

Re: No ban for doing the 98ovr glitch, heres what 2k should do.
My game has been glitched since I bought vc for the prelude, I have to go to mypark or 2k pro am arena just to upgrade myplayer, and if I go to equip celebrations I get the blue screen (ps4). Right now offline I have an 85 overall and have 127 upgrades, idk if I will get more but I would rather them fix my game than to keep getting upgrades, it would be unfair to ban because this is on them.
As much as they say there is no advantages for a 98 it isn't true, it gives that player at least one more dimension to their game and like people are saying it lets you skip the hours of grinding to work on other things. There is no way to tell if someone glitched on purpose or not and just because most people are skeptical doesn't mean bugs don't happen accidentally. If I do keep getting upgrades I would be in favor of a cap reset to 125 but mostly I would just like my game to work how it is supposed to.Comment

Just take a look at 2k15. That should give you an indication that nothing is going to happen to them. By the time they get around to it, people will have reached Superstar 5, and will play the 'play stupid' card. Just chalk this one up for the year.Comment
