Wow .. so basically any contract changes I've made (to a saved roster file) prior to starting MyLeague will be all for nothing..?

I've started a couple of MyLeagues using the Fantasy Draft Option to go after a really athletic team. I've noticed something strange though when I use the "Contract Extension" option for resigning players during the season. Anytime I resign a player, the game automatically adds the No Trade Clause to their deal after the deal is done. I have made sure almost 20 times the NTC is set for no when I negotiate the deal. I've also noticed that the computer is also resigning players with the NTC on other teams. I have tried this on several iterations of MyLeague and it's really frustrating.

My question for Mikelopedia is - Is this correct in the NBA? I've never heard of NBA players getting the NTC when they re-up their contracts in the NBA during the season. I think only Melo and Dirk have the NTC built into their contracts. Is this happening to anyone else?

How long did it take you to do that? Really impressive stuff.

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned in this great post but is essential in my opinion: trade exceptions. In real life, a team like Cleveland could never build its roster without them, being well over the cap and deep into the tax. If used in the game, you can never make a move or sign a free agent that's not a minimum with them. (For ex: being able to sign Derrick Williams, Deron Williams or even entertain the thought of signing Larry Sanders)
These are the top priority in my opinion and it would be really easy to implement. Just make a pop up that says "with this trade you have obtained a trade exception valued at $nM" and then it sits in the team contracts page, ideally along with the other exceptions you have (MLE, etc)

First, a salute to Mikelopedia for a thorough and comprehensive guide. I learned so much for reading your post.

Just wanted to share some of my experiences in playing My GM and was hoping to get some inputs.
            1. Whenever I use the "Trade Finder" the AI usually offers (a) the same pick but with different protections in the same trade (ex. Item 1 - 2017 pick top 3 protected, item 2 - 2017 pick top 5 protected) and (b) a first round pick & the back up protection the year after. For item (a) does it mean the pick follows the higher protection? And for (b) does it mean that should the original pick be conveyed I'll also get the first round pick of the following year (meaning I get 2 first round picks in effect)?
            2. Weird glitch that role-players are signing for cheap deals. I just signed Ricky Rubio to a 2+1 extension that gives him 2.5M on the first year (he was initially just asking for 2M). It's good for my franchise since I'll get to keep him but it's so far off from how things actually are in the NBA.
            3. Noticed that draft picks (auto generated draft class) outside the top 10 have ratings below 70 (most of the time) and thus don't really have a place on a team outside of the Summer League.
            4. I just signed Will Barton during the off-season, D. Booker and.B.Ingram are my starting wings and I needed to boost my bench. I interviewed him and asked him about his potential role and he gave a generic answer that he doesn't seem himself clashing with any if the players on my team. 3 games into the season and suddenly he wants to get promoted to the starting 5. Now he's unhappy and I might be forced to trade him after the Dec 15 rule.

            Any inputs on these? Thanks!

              Very informative post.

I'd like to know though, if it is a glitch or normal, for a 2nd Round 1st Pick who is sitting in free agents, to ask for $5.3 million 1 year contract. He is 20 years old, 71 overall, with 81 potential.

I think my brain turned into jam midway through.

                Does anyone else taste copper?
